You still haven't told me how the intake shutter things work. Unless I'm misremembering and that was only a thing on the Fulcrum.

>tfw don't know where any of my 360 cables are >never going to buy a new one >will never play AC6 am I missing much?
Sebastian Thomas
They're meant to limit FOD damage when taking off and landing on messy airfields, although while the Fulcrum does have them, on Flankers they're a more of a mesh grate, to save on weight.
Camden Gomez
The largest scale battles the entire series has to offer this far.

Personally, being used to DualShock controllers for AC made it very hard to adapt to the clunky XBOX one, so I always had this weird feeling when playing 6, doesn't feel natural like the other titles somehow.
Anyway, all the free DLC is dead, so might be for the best
Then again, you'll be missing and the damn best graphics in the series before 7 happens.
Wyatt Reed
What about ACI?
Landon Hall
Well I know what they're for, but I meant how they mechanically work. Because I've never seen them deploy.
What the other user said, but there's almost too many of them where you're just running back and forth between objectives. It's great fun, but the mission variety suffered a bit from it.
Isaiah Flores
Who would win in a dogfight between a crusader and a Phantom?
Gavin King
Well Shin flew a Crusader, so that makes it better in every way.
Hudson Cook
Some furballs from Infinity like EAS are huge enough for the PS3 to get frame drops, but I still think 6 has better ones due to enemy variety, several operations happening at the same time and the ammount of allies. Maps are bigger too.
Joseph Murphy
The Phantom is much faster, I'm pretty sure, but the Crusader has a maneuverability advantage. At least I think that's true. Thunder probably could give a nice detailed answer on this. Crusader is still number one in my heart regardless.
David Brown

I like the Aigaion better because of how it looks, but because of the Gleipnir's retardedly overpowered abilities I'm inclined to agree.
Joseph Edwards
>tfw just got done correcting a shitload of exams >tfw got one myself tomorrow Time to call it a night.
The Agaion is nice for the carrier part, but I just really like the design of the Gleipnir. Well that and the idea of having a giant aircraft that can enter the stealthdimensional space.

Historically the answer was the pilots with the better training. F-8s would routinely win against F-4s in the early years because that was what F-8 pilots trained to do.
Once F-4 pilots were shipped off to top gun, and were taught how to use the advantages of their superior plane, the F-4 pilots almost always won.
I'd do a real technical breakdown but I don't have a lot of info on the F-8. It didn't serve long enough to be notable. If anyone can find an EM diagram of one, that'd be real cool though.
John Phillips
I still can't figure out how to deal with 7B's second phase with the Shock Cannon with the F-4's guns. The plane lacks the raw maneuverability to get long periods of fire onto the target and then escape.
Aiden Diaz
Where do you find those diagrams anyways? All I found relating to the Crusader was the entire flight manual on a pdf.
Aiden Rogers
Post things that were just too pretty for this cruel, practicality-loving world. >All I found relating to the Crusader was the entire flight manual on a pdf. ...wot Post it, I need it. If you can't, do it on Veeky Forums. There usually is a pdf thread up.

The problem also lies in file size. If it's more than (iirc) 4 MB, you can't post it here. I said Veeky Forums because the limit is some 10 MB there, and the PDF thread welcomes all.

>VR exclusive missions They better not be fucking story content locked to the fucking console AND a separate fucking console-priced peripheral.
If I have to drop like fucking $800 to see all of AC7's story I am going to be fucking furious.
If it's something like 5's Arcade Mode I'd be fine with that I guess.

They said its a separate campaign from AC7, with some cross over references.
Gavin Harris
>a separate campaign If that means it has actual story then pardon me while I go be furious, because that means levels and assets and dev time and writing and voice acting and all the other work that was NOT spent on the main campaign, literally content taken away from the base game. though I suppose kudos for not half-assing a feature.
If that means it's just basically a minigame on the side with an excuse plot like 5's Arcade Mode, I guess I'm fine with that.
Jayden Jenkins
Where is the proof?
David Martinez
That's not how budgeting in videogames works.
Ayden Ward
her names Abby, it says at the bottom in the pastebin

Well I didn't read that degenerate filth.
Leo Cooper
Yes it is.
There are only so many hours in a day. Only so many workers on a project. Only so many GB on a disk yeah yeah digital distribution it still ships on a disk and you fucking know it. And yes, there are limits to a game's budget. There is only so much time that will be spent in, say, making levels, and time spent making levels for VR-exclusive content is time not spent making levels for the main game. Ditto for everything else if the VR game has its own story and shit.
Point is, I don't want to miss any of it because they stupidly made them PSVR exclusive instead of just enabling a VR option.
William Barnes
dude its a meme stop acting like pol shes actually got quite a talent for writing too embrace it embrace it like borders
Brody Cook
they're actually pretty good too I'd be hyped to read a non porn story by her too the first fic has such lines as this >sweeping through her body quicker than a firestorm through a Belkan city.
Levi Jenkins
Except for something like this, that's not how it works.
It's not "Oh, here's ten million dollars for the game. You have five years. Oh, and BTW, you have to do VR as well" It's "Here's seven million dollars. You have four years. And hey, if you can add VR, we'll give you an extra three mil and a year"
Hudson Anderson
To add on to this, the money budgeted for the VR portion isn't gonna magically get shoved over to the main game if they cancel it, it'll just get given back to Bamco.
Leo Wood

I'm not saying every number behind a game's development is a static, unchanging constant. I know Sony subsidizes development of shit they can tout as exclusive, I know publishers fork for money over in exchange for more features - but there is still an ultimate limit of how much work will be done on the game. For that matter, even taking it as fact that any extra time done to develop the game is perfectly taken up by VR development - I doubt that - that still means the game won't come out for a longer time because they had to develop features I and I suspect a majority of players won't be allowed to play either - which is also a bullshit arbitrary decision, since the VR gameplay doesn't look like it has any good reason to be VR-exclusive rather than VR-optional.
We could be playing Ace Combat 7 right now.
Jaxson Hall
>keep their shit together Not when it was first posted. This general has autism fits like every other general. Just last thread there was a big bitchfit over a "you have been visited by..." spam pic because someone got offended and the guy who posted it got butthurt and both started autistic screeching at each other.

What's your hurry?
Longer dev time also allows for better QC.

I meant today's lewdfic. The first one was reee, but we're back to the regularls now.
Colton Smith
>What's your hurry? I could be playing Ace Combat 7 right now, potentially, if Sony didn't fork over a few million to puff up its console exclusive overpriced motion-sickness simulator. And you're asking me what my hurry is?
Justin Baker
>I meant today's lewdfic. I never bother to read them, I sincerely assumed it was last week's lewdfic being reposted since I didn't pay any attention to it as anyone who doesn't care for such things should do
My bad!
Jace Hernandez
Don't apologize. That's the right attitude to have.
Cooper Bennett
It's only been two years since announcement. I'd prefer they take their time to optimize it and keep quality control tight. Look at ME: Andromeda for what happens when shit gets rushed.
Cooper Gonzalez
Who's going to talk louder and have more effect, you or a few million from the guys in suits?
Wyatt Peterson
I'm fine with it being delayed until next year because I believe them when they say they need the extra time to get it right. I'm willing to wait longer for a more quality game.
But the studio only has so many people in it, and so many hours in a day. Work on VR is work that delays the game in a way that doesn't benefit me - or if I want to sound less selfish, I suspect it won't benefit a majority of players.
Well obviously they should listen to me. I'm a guy on the Internet.
Lincoln Kelly
Yeah man. Do you perhaps suffer from some sort of illness that could see you dead in the next year? Is it a matter of life and death that PA finishes development as soon as possible?
Have you enlisted and will be shipped overseas just before the game is slated to release, risking life and limb in service of your country with the potential that you could pay the ultimate price before you can play your video game?
Mason Cox
I could get hit by a bus tomorrow. I could finally give up and shoot myself next week. Or I could spend the next year playing Ace Combat 7 and enjoying a whole new entry's worth of memes with my buddies /aceg/ right now.
Carson Peterson
To be fair, we do have at least one buddy who is/was in afghanistan. His chopper got nailed with an RPG to boot.
Henry Brown
To flip that, if they spent time on only a standard campaign, sure it would come out early, but I suspect a lot of reviewers would naggle over it not having VR content given its genre and the Sony PSVR push. Besides, they could just have easily run into similar delays and pushed it back just as far, and then where would we be?
Isaiah Hill
But VR is really cool
Nolan Lee
Then we'd have a game with just as much dev time but with it all focused on the core gameplay or the main story. I fail to see how that's a problem.
as much as I hate VR I admit arcade flight sims are a good place for it.
Luke Miller
Only for about 20 minutes before the vomiting sets in.

I didn't vomit when I tried it out. As long as its locked to 60fps, its fine
