We've been at this point before. Just because your max weight is high doesn't mean the average weight is high. There's types of freight that pack as many pounds as possible into one truck and there's types of freight where the max weight is irrelevant because they never come close.
Again, having a higher gdp per capita means America moves more freight per person so it's likely the average American trailer weighs more than the average European trailer, but there's no evidence to prove it one way or another.
