Oblivion's shit scaling system doesn't mean you "never get left behind" it means the opposite. Unless you purposefully grind skills you will be left behind. Enemies raise the same in difficulty whether you gain 3 points or 15 every level. So you either control levelling autistically and pick an intentionally nonsensical patch, you mod it, or you play past it.

I haven't paid too much attention to the ordeal. Originally I was against it because it seemed just like paid mods, but after reading Trainwiz's posts and watching Total Biscuit's video on it, I'm open to the idea. I think Bethesda will do a good job.

That was the biggest problem woth the idea, every tom dick and harry could take their mod and hide it behind a 10$ bill. That no longer exists, no previously made content will be allowed on CC. For example, Trainwiz can't pull WoL off nexus and put it on CC.

Obviously it's still paying for mods, but it's not the same as what happened before (referenced constantly as paid mods). It's just lazy communication.
