i don't get this meme? are we trying to get people to buy shitty korean cars now?

People post shit about the GTR and Z06. Does that mean they are trying to get you to buy those cars?

>fake news

>gook car
>chebbie GM garbage

I'll take neither please.

This is the Kia Stinger GT RWD. The AWD is quicker at 4.7 sec.

Also, that is the 1LE Times for the SS, not the base SS.

>4.9 second
Ummmmmm

That’s the pre-production Korean spec. Randy hasn’t ran the US spec on Willow Springs yet. Though, he did say that when he drove the US spec that he could tell it is at least a sec faster than the Korean spec.

Also, you’re comparing the 6th Gen SS and not the 5th gen.

Why would you compare a 10 year old car to a brand new one?

why aren't you comparing it to the 2010 Kia Stinger?

> 10 year old car
> 2015 model used as the comparison
What now?

Funny.

March 2009–November 2015

So what’s the future like? Has GM ended the Camaro again?

How does it happen? Easy: poor metallurgy/QC/corner cutting in materials and manufacture

And I was about to buy one of them, too (Sorento with the 2.4 engine), already way back in 2012-13. Talked to owners and learned about fucky wiring/electronics, transmission issues, plastics that brittle and become delicate within three years, and other similar why-tier stuff (such as the engine eating itself away within the first 60k miles, requiring replacement of valve guides and piston rings)

Of course, that last bit may have to do with the 10k mile oil change interval that they recommend from factory, but still

???

> post is with 2015 5th gen model
> this guy posts 6th gen model

The Stinger is actually really well made. I took a look at one last weekend and they are pretty nice. I don’t know about longevity just yet, but no one does about any of the new gen cars of any manufacturer.

The 2015 ss is gonna be almost identical to the 2009 ss

Are you actually retarded

5th gen ss camaros are less than 20k now

And?

> reference old meme
> must be retarded because newfag doesn’t get it
Uh-huh. Sure, Mr. Autismo.

They are also a 426bhp/420tq sports cars. And get their shit pushed in by a 5 door Kia.

^And?

Why do you idiots still respond to bait threads?

Its not a meme, kia has to just straight up be paying someone to post about the car constantly.

yes that model ended in 2015
it was replaced by a different car with the same name

>comparing a 2018 car to a 2005 design
The absolute state of Kiafags

Its a poor comparison to compare a 10 year old car to a brand new one

>underpowered pig fat makes the Camaro look light

The meme isn’t the Kia thread, newfag. You don’t even know what meme I was referencing.

> comparing a current gen hatchback sedan to last gen sports car
You act like any car can’t be compared to any car.

> yet stomps the last gen’s SS while being heavier
Hmm. 5th gen owners should now kiayourselves.

>ITT: a bunch of broke ass faggots arguing over a few tenths of second on cars they'll never own.

Shut the fuck up already.

>sports car
>camaro

>never own
I already own four cars and might pick up the Stinger GT1 when it releases in the States. But, I am weighing my options. Might get a 2017 Mustang GT with the Roush phase 2 supercharger kit instead. Just for laughs. I’m primarily looking for a car that is unsuspecting to people. No one xpects the Stinger GT to be a low 13 to high 12 second car. And no one expects a base looking Mustang GT to put out 727 bhp and 610tq.

I’d agree with this. But, nower days I see any car that is below a 6 sec 0-60mph and below a 14 sec in the 1/4 mile as being a sports car.

The Camaro is a muscle car yey?

We'll see. They couldn't get their shit together since the 80s/90s even with Fjord and Muhzda giving them a hand, I hope, but honestly doubt they've gotten their things in order in a few years

Also, taking a look isn't a thing. You need to see how well it takes to the use (and even abuse) to gauge the quality

>no one does about any of the new gen cars of any manufacturer
You can, however, at least partially rely on the manufacturer's history and reputation

You'd trust, I dunno, Mercedes, to make an overall nicer, more reliable car than LiuGong or Chery or any of those brands tho (Scotty pls no buli, you haven't seen those chinkmachines mayne, Mercedes ain't got shit on THOSE nightmares)

It's like how PSA/VW has shitty wiring (mostly crappy insulation) and tend to become nightmares after three or four years because they age like shit. I remember that patently, after taking my shitty e36 to our mechanic, who commented on how the cables were 22 years old but look brand new "unlike Peugeot/VW/Ford/Renault/Citroen/Hyundai/Fiat" and showed how a 2013 Citroen C4 had cracked/badly aged wiring under the hood

That's not something you can know with a visit to the dealership, just like the quality of materials and manufacture, that's something you can at best gauge with past experience, because they're not likely to tell you just precisely what materials and processes they're using to make the chassis/bodywork/etc

Like I said, I had quite the hopes for them, but I remain strongly skeptic of long-term (that is 4 or 5 years mind you) reliability/how well they stand up to time and use, especially talking to owners and former owners

Lol, the Kia is slower than the 4 banger base Camaro, a GTI and a 15 year old pigfat M5 at streets of Willow.

Muscle car and sports car are not always exclusive. Some cars can be both. Sports car is a loosely used term that can be applied to a variety of cars. Just like some people consider the Miata to be a sports car.

I don’t trust new Mercedes cars worth a shit. But, the Stinger GT had the former chief engineer of BMW’s M division and former lead designer of Audi work on making it. And I trust them more than the entire company of Kia. So, I just might give the Stinger GT a try.

That’s the pre-production KDM spec. Not the US spec which is faster.

>I don’t trust new Mercedes cars worth a shit
Why though? What issues do they have that Kia doesn't?

>this is a """sports car"""

Intentionally making their brakes grind into their rotors when the pads are half way used. Causing you to pay $1k per wheel for a single pad and new rotor.

So it goes 0-60 in less than 6 sec and a quarter mile in less than 14 sec?

Whoa, sauce pls?

Any more?

>727hp
>610tq
Are those the real numbers for just a supercharger? How much do you have to sink into cooling and fuel system upgrades? is that even reliable on stock internals?

Here is one article. They finally made a recall for a lot of them since they have been getting sued. But, these brakes have been doing this since the mid-2000’s.

recallmasters.com/mercedes-recalls-vehicles-faulty-brakes/

5.2 | Quarter mile 13.8

The Phase 2 kit costs around $8k. A lot of Roush specialist dealerships will install them for $1,800 - $2,000. The ‘16-‘17 GT’s stock internals are forged and can handle it no problem. However, the IRS, driveshaft, and clutch disk are a different matter altogether.

However, for $1k less you can get the Phase 1 kit which makes 670 bhp. Which everything can support with ease. And you even get to keep your factory warranty with the Phase 1 kit.

Fugg that sounds good

That's what the Marauder was to the CVPI.

Only difference is that it's a Ford because Mercury is long-gone.

>So pigfat it makes a new Camaro look like a 90s Japenase sport car
TOP KEK.

Same story with Hyundai. I never thought I'd say this but I have been impressed with the new optimas lately. Them and Kia are really trying to get out of that "Slow shit box" reputation they gave themselves.

You what?

I meant to say Genises. Fuck

>ITT: Kia shills back themselves into a corner

>200 pounds off
Not bad desu

the interceptor is a taurus

Anything more? Other issues that would make you choose Kia over Mercedes?

Also, looking around for a minute or two, it seems like only a few models were affected by the software bug, and only during 2015-2017, not a whole decade or so like you claimed, bae

If you have a source that can at least provide some info or veracity on it happening earlier/for longer, do provide it, since the issue you presented seems to be focused on about six thousand cars running a span of 3 years and a few models only

I've searched for "mercedes dragging brakes" and "mercedes brake recall" and similar stuff, and it either takes me back to that one rather limited issue, or to things like the chink market A and B class models having a bad connector in a vacuum line and losing power assist to the brakes. No mention in any article about 10+ years of brakes dragging, though

I did manage, however, to find an article talking about "brake problems" with the Sensotronic system, but nothing else

The latest generation definitely counts. SS 1LE is a bona fide driver's car

How so, Mr. Faggot?

Gook Shills BTFO

You can't deceive them anymore.

>over 1800kg
Holy shit the stinger is fat

Is that guy driving on the grass?

This kills the Sphincter GT and also weigh 500 kg less

And ayy forgot the picture

Not him, but it's obvious this is a shill thread, my boi

>Going from Kia to anything italian
Well, I suppose you'll enjoy driving it, at least. For however little time the car works, of course

Tell me more

>Mitsubishi
>MG
Oh lawd

Okay, reverse image search brings up nothing. Who did that report?

> Kia over Merc
As brands, I wouldn’t choose either of them. But, the Stinger GT is just a really nice car for the price tag. It’s the first Kia I’ve seen that makes me want to buy one. But, other issues with newer Merc’s (2005+) is that they all have a separate computer module for each electrical device. And that’s like a 1000 of them in each of the cars. And they cost around $550 to replace one if one of them goes out. Nower days, Mercs are just a name being sold with the intention of gouging consumers for every penny they can.

And costs significantly more. And looks like complete shit coming out of a rich trophy wife’s asshole.

>hot opinions

That's rich coming from a faggot defending a gook car which is basically a rip off of several European models and with a fuck ugly tablet inside.

thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-5017573/Most-reliable-car-makes-sold-UK-Japanese.html

Okay the Kia Stinger meme is the worst forced meme on this board since ever
>stinger fags should kys

yeah, but the previous gen is the one under scrutiny

>UK data
Opinion discarded

yeah but the stingey gt is a current gen

How is it a meme?
Korean cars are being treated how Japanese cars were treated early on. I guess when we see 300k mile Kia sonatas in 20 years, it'll be too late and korea will start producing shitty cars for dickriding fanboys to waste their money on.

Right now is THE time to jump on a fresh brand trying to prove itself and making cars above the quality of their price point.

Is 4 door hatchback sedan supposed to be a good thing?
lmao

>wasnt here for toyobaru
The VP9 of Veeky Forums

> caring what the infomedia looks like when literally every luxury manufacturer does the same damn thing; pic related
I’m defending a single Korean car, not all of them though. The Stinger is the only one worth a damn in my eyes. The rest of them can be thrown in a ditch for all ai care.

I’m OP and the user who has been defending the Stinger GT. But, Idont think buying any new Hyundai/Kia is he way to go. I literally wouldn’t touch any of them with my money (save for the Stinger) let alone pour money into buying one.

5 door hatch.

He also wasn’t here for the GTR/Z06 laptimes forced meme.

>everybody do that so it must be the best thing ever

Sorry but this is better

If you want to buy one, fine for you. Though I pose the question of just how did you arrive to the conclusion that it's a nice car for the price? I could say that of many vehicles that seem appealing but don't deliver (had a personal experience with a friend's Gen Coupe vs my shitty e36 coupe)

About electronics: In general, cars have lots of electronics, yes. It's a sad reality that we just have to cope with. That or gas the normies, whichever you like the best

Now, I ask: how do we know that the stinger doesn't have a similar amount of electronic modules, or isn't following a similar philosophy? That point is moot until we can find out how many pixieboxes the kia has, and if they have any more or less problems than kraut/burger/nip cars

Wish I could get some more details on that survey, because I find it hard to believe that Renault can be more reliable than ANYTHING other than maybe Fiat or Land Rover

t. Spic who has to see dozens of Renault, Peugeot and Fiat cars every day, and they don't do better than the Alfa MiTo or Giulietta, or even late 90s/early 2000s Mercs

pls remember to sage, bae

Nip cars were hated by lots of people because they were tiny little boxes (remember 'murican steel was huge back then) made by the evil japs, user. Not because they were "bad", but because those who made them were evil chinklets. My father and grandfather commented on that quite a bit, how they were disliked for being smol and "not manly" like a good old Heep or similar

You fucking KIA shills will shill your shit Korean shit until everyone loses interest .. quit making these retarded threats every 30 min you kpop faggots

Kia offers a limited100,000k/ten year warranty and a full 60k/five year. I would never buy one because it's a kia and growing up they were horrible plastic shit mobiles and that idea will never leave my head. Although, there's no denying they've definitely stepped up their game quite a bit as the years go on.

That is the most hideous interior I’ve seen in a car made in the last 10 years. Get that overly complicated shit out of here.

I’ve actually been inside a Stinger. It’s not shit materials, everything is visualy pleasing, the performance numbers are great for the type of car and for the price range, and all of the features you get for the price tag is well worth it. Now, sure I don’t know about longevity, but the Stinger comes with a 10 year / 100,000 mile warranty. So, I’ll definitely get my money’s worth.

And as for the Mercs, no car has as many computer modules as Mercs do. No other car has half as many. It’s ridiculous. It has nothing to do with what electronics it has or how many it has.

>shitty
>Korean
pick one

both

>The VP9 of Veeky Forums
literally this bu alfa romeo shills were cool too, goatest pizza bants

Post your leased garbage

bus rider detected

>overly complicated
>ugly

KYS yourself tasteless nigger

Spic here again

Not having things such as the Lemon Law, or Class Action Lawsuits, I can say that such a warranty means fuck-all, since Hyundai is known to evade warranty work/weasel out of it (even harder than what VW, Fiat, or the PSA Group does)

To be fair, it's something I see with pretty much every manufacturer except maybe Honda, Toyota and Mercedes/BMW around here (since they have a bit of a reputation to maintain. Fucking Audi doesn't give a fuck tho, lel)

While looking into buying one, I was told "koreans don't give a shit about their warranty" by a guy with a 2012 Sportage with a blown engine. A real shame, since I liked the Hyundai Santa Fe quite a lot, but had to go with a Honda CR-V because of rather shoddy backing by the gooks, wanted to give it a go

>no car has as many computer modules as Mercs do
I could agree with that, but I really need hard facts mayne. Both on Mercs having more pixie boxes, and on the Kia not doing something similar. Otherwise it's just a generally held opinion that doesn't have actual backing

And then, of course, we need info on how troublesome (at least with some historic data/trends throughout the brand) are the electronics on kias relative to krautwagens

I don’t lease anything. And I only owe

What about the i30 N ?

how can someone make an image with almost everything in it being wrong?

Nice curb rash faggot, also love the all season tires on the LS. Really mint collection of high performance shitboxes. Also,
