$5000 challenge

$5000 challenge
2004 WRX Wagon
2005 Cooper S JCW
2005 Civic SI EP3

I need a daily driver with good gas mileage and utility.
I'm also in design school and it's hard to not be biased about the Mini's looks.
All cars are around $5000 and 150,000 miles.

What should I choose?

My current car is a 92 Civic VX hatch, getting tired of it getting broken into even with my alarm.

>I also work at a Honda dealership so I have cheap parts availability for Honda's

>mini a shiy
>wrx to much money when it brakes
My vote is for the 5k civic
The wrx might not be awful either

The civic SI may also be k20a2 Acura RSX swapped. That may change things a bit.

a $5000 WRX is an awful idea. Premium gas, breaks down a lot, will be more abused than your average civic or mini.

A 9-2x will handle better (stock sti steering rack) and will likely be less abused if you live in burgerland.

Not even true now, everyone knows about the 9-2x Aero. It's no secret.

Prelude SH?

Ep3 all the way, huge hatch back good on gas. Fun to drive cheap and easy to fix. It's by far the best option

There's sooooo much better shit you can get for 5k than these little turds.

Look harder.

example?
This is what I'm leaning towards. Especially because there are k20a2 and k20z3 swapped ep3s in my area for 6k

>gas milage
Wrx is great for everything but that.

280ZX Turbo

Or if you're willing to sacrifice speed for looks and a bit of handling 280Z

Holy shit if I didn't have an ep3 that would be the one I want, the k20a3 is really hard to get power out of without dumping a lot of money in it

While these are other options, they don't fit the bill for what I'm looking for.
>economical
>practical
>a riot to drive

Subarus are the most unreliable heap of gook steel ever, next to ebay katanas.
Minis are simply for homosexuals and any civic that isn't 3K with some mods is unreliable, rice, and ugly.

Not OP but is there much practical difference between a 5th gen Prelude and a 6th or 7th gen Accord coupe?
I like the Prelude's style but the v6 in the Accords seems pretty nice and they're a good bit roomier which I like.

>WRX
>good fuel economy

The point of a WRX is to turn fuel into wubs and broken gearboxes.

>WRX
gas milage is bad and also likes to blow headgaskets
>Cooper
Very unreliable and parts are expensive to replace
>Civic SI
5k is kinda expensive for a 12 year old civic, but probably the best out of the bunch??

There are tons of ther options if your budget is 5k dollars.

If you don't mind missing the truck a decent 2gen (NB) or a good 1gen (NA) miata are well within your budget

I meant to type; "missing a trunk" sorry for drunk posting

The WRX has the 2.0L EJ205 which is not known for headgasket issues. The 2.5L engines are the ones known for blowing gaskets.
