New to bikes, when's the best time to buy one?

In a previous thread I saw someone say that this winter period is the best time, but how do you know when? Do you just keep F5ing their website every day to check for prices?

I'm going to stick with my current 125 this year but once I've passed my A2 I'm looking to get my first real bike, either a FZ-07 or something else. Trouble is I like the current model trim. I guess there might be improvements next year, though.

Only talking about used bikes from private sellers, but the price generally trends down in fall, it's not going to be as clean cut as one bike is $5k in March and $4k in October, but you're more likely to find better deals in Fall. It'll also be easier to talk people down, because they'll be thinking about that bike taking up space in their garage all winter while they can't can't ride it.

Depends on your insurance company. With Allstate, the rate varies by month. In the winter months, you're effectively paying only a few dollars a month. It should explain it in your policy docs, possibly under refunds.
