The only thing I didn't like as much about 2 was the ending, but overall it maintained a quality at least equal to the better parts of 1 throught most of the game, while 1 had tons of worse and more predictable cases.
The good parts of 1 are still great and overall it's good, but it's more of a mixed bag, while 2 is good consistently.
