why are ADVENT HQ raids in LW2 such a chore to do?

Is there a way to instantly end current mission, cheats included? I'm two turns away from extraction but game always crashes at the end of the turn. Long wang 2.

You can just use "tatc" in the console to move your characters to the evac.

I mean the new classes and boogaloos are all fun stuff, new Gops and using RnFs for soft timers I definitely prefer to vanilla but goddamn the HQ raids are the one thing I never really liked doing. The network towers are a close second I guess.

What do you mean? They make a good backup weapon I thought. For like when you are out of ammo but you need something dead. Or when your sniper gets to close and should switch to the sidearm?

I have a mod that allows all secondary weapons/gadgets be slotted in as a utility slot.

Speaking of backup weapons, are there any good machine pistols or shotty mods similar to what Long War 1 added?

For the late comers to Xcom 1 or Xcom 2, did you play vanilla first or did you just instantly mod your game? For Xcom 1 I got it late so Long War was already established so I just got that and ran with it. For Xcom 2, I just waited until a sale and more mods came out.

Do you prefer XCOM 1's loadout music or XCOM 2's loadout music?

Funny, I really like them - it's fun to settle in for a long, protracted siege with dozens of enemies to mow down. I just wish ADVENT Generals felt a bit more special to fight, they're a little unconvincing as a boss enemies.

Rangers. Amazing at high levels, less so until they reach TSGT.

I cheese those missions with 4 assaults and a shinobi. Stalk 2 to 3 pods with muh assaults, sneak to the objective with the shinobi, and eliminate half the map while they're still stunned.

I have super bad issues with loading times and I wonder if it is just me or others are experiencing it also. So I load a save file when the game launches. Ok I have a decent load time. As soon as I try and load another save, or I am in a mission and try to load back to another save within the mission, the load times are exponentially long. So long that it is faster for me to quit the game, and load the save file from the start. Is that just me? I do have a lot of mods but a good chunk of it is cosmetics I think.

Based on a quick google no, they do not work vanilla wise. After some searching, there is no current mod that adds this capability. Unless I missed something, shit sucks yo!

They're base assaults. They're supposed to be hard and long.

I wouldn't say that. Lightning reflexes is a godsend when swarmed or a pod activates with yellow alert overwatch.

have 1 bait troop pull a pod then lure the aliens into 30 xcom soldiers all on overwatch

repeat until extraction

technically the beaglerush maneuver involves putting every soldier in concealment and on overwatch, and allowing an enemy spot one of your soldiers in concealment, triggering a full squad close range overwatch against the enemy.

this tactic was patched early in the development of the game and enemies were able to shoot flanked soldiers when they spotted them from concealment.

In LW it's even worse, enemies get free actions if you activate them during their turn.

right before the xcom2 release beagle got an early copy and was streaming it. He found out that if you put your soldiers out in the open on overwatch in the patrol path of enemies during concealment it let him get off free overwatch and then a whole turn. It was patched out before the game was even released, but LW brought it back.

she's down for the rest of the mission unless you use something like a specialist's revival protocol

Doing the mission lets you encounter them earlier, I think, but they'll start appearing eventually even if you don't do it.

Funnily enough the 2 Botched Facelifts were the easiest part of that mission
