The loot system in TF is terrible, and if you think about it titan loadouts are not entirely dissimilar to heroes. I payload push with all titans might be a fun new objective mode.

Respawn should take the ball modes from Halo and Call of Duty.

What if there's two balls, one for pilots and one for titans. Pilot ball is worth 1 point but titan ball is worth 2-3, that way it's not forcing only the fastest titans to play it

The slower Titans can be used to guard the goal. Halo's Oddball mode would be a good fit with Ttitanfall's movement, I feel.

I was talking about 2 different modes in the first post. Oddball is basically keepaway. You grab the ball, and hold it to score points over time. There's another mode from Call of Duty called Uplink, which is basically American Football. You carry the ball from the middle of the map into a goal. Throwing the ball earns less points than physically carrying the ball into the goal.

It just seems like another hero shooter to me. A bad clone that will die all too fast.

How do you build scorch so he is effective?

Legion you need the hidden compartment double shot thing. That overcharge core is nice, but it is harder to kill tones without that dash through their shield.

scorch's best kits are wildfire and inferno shield, everything else is kind of shit and could use a balance pass. use the dash so you can get in and burn people down with the shield easier.

scorch is easily the weakest titan. he really only performs well on maps like complex and crashsite, places with little movement for titans. go with dash and either the thermal shield kit or wildfire launcher.
thermal shield kit is usually the #1 pick, but now that monarch and arc rounds exist, thermal shield becomes useless if they are in you game.
wildfire launcher is the next best kit. itll drop more thermite i think, or make it do more damage, i dont know. use the thermite in every way you can; shoot it at ceilings to drop thermite behind shields, use it to flush out pilots or even get them off your back if they rodeo you etc.

I played a lot of the golden age arena shooters and had great fun, but I don't like Lawbreakers much so far. At least it is a skill based arena shooter but I still prefer UT2004. The maps are so small, and it's so fucking ugly. I can see why people with a certain mindset would prefer it to Titanfall, since even in beta it seems to be better balanced and less of a clusterfuck in terms of basic design. Hero/weapon balance aside, the maps are pretty much symmetrical and you will never spawn into thermite. You'll never spawn as titan and instantly be crushed by a reaper warpfall. Melee requires you to actually touch people. Lol.

The characters, their designs, and their voices are mostly terrible. But I do think the female battle medic is cute. I just didn't want to visit this 'world' or its people. They have dialogue and personalities, unlike the random lizards and skeletons from Quake, so who the fuck are they! Why are they even fighting!

The abilities all seem reasonably fun to use. Maining EPG made it easy for me to land a bunch of midairs with the medic's grenade launcher. The chaingun/jetpack chick was fun too, great for FAST, but already I see she's a low tier character.

Unfortunately it seems designed to be a clusterfuck from the ground up. Like those fucking joke user maps in older games, like space CTF in quake 3 that never made it to quake live because it wasn't respectable enough. Like in the single flag mode, the flag is just in a cylindrical room that everyone is supposed to rush into and just jump around. You're just supposed to control the area with your ultimate abilities as far as I can tell. That's when it feels like overwatch, and feels really bad.

That hero is currently OP but they can change it easily just by tweaking damage numbers. I think. Some of the movement abilities are bound to be better than others and might require more major changes. But I mean the general map design and game systems seem to be fairer than Titanfall and with less random bullshit. Also the servers are already better. I never had a shot lag into oblivion. Whereas in Titanfall 2 every 10th charge rifle shot doesn't appear on the screen.

You run Inferno Shield and pray that the enemy Titans are so preoccupied that they don't notice your big ass lumbering towards them at a snails pace and then hold the button down until they die
High level canister management helps but a lot of time, the enemy Titans are just too fast and have too much space for them to do much other than temporarily block a path

This is what bothers me the most about Scorch. Its my favorite loadout but I never really use it because the maps are too open, with too many avenues of escape for most of Scorch's kit to ever be useful.

wildfire launcher is actually fairly decent now. not better than thermal shield was, but gotta account for arc rounds now. its a viable choice and if you use it right, you can hold your own. it gives you some breathing room since you dont have to fully rely on thermal shield, at least on maps that scorch does well on.

In those games ammo matters because it's about weapon and map control, but of the game has loadouts or specific characters with specific guns, then I can see why infinite ammo is preferable

For ow unlimited ammo fits thematically to me since its so cartoony and upfront casual like a "super type" fps. Was really surprised a "real type" shooter had it going on when I bought tf2. I imagine it would've been funny to get killed by some pro who is forced to take your gun due to limited ammo and killing you again. The loud camos and pro screens would serve even more of a purpose for laffs. Its all good though, it does make the game a tiny bit more easygoing

Who even runs out of ammo in Titanfall anyway? I barely ever did in the first game, and I could go entire matches with only a couple deaths. All you had to do was punch a random grunt and bam, back to full ammo.

that would be terrible. console users are limited by other things than using a gamepad. the game runs at 30 fps doesnt it? that is a big disadvantage if it does.
if that ever happened, aim assist would have to be heavily tweaked. as it is currently, assault rifles are totally dominant on console becuase of how absurdly strong the aim assist is. mixing that with pc would just make roof camping with rifles even worse.
