Stock classics with their narrow tracks really do look awful. Wheel already over and there's still almost half a foot of empty fender outside of it. Only upside is it makes fitting wide tires easier.

Before I didn't like car from the 60s-70s for this very reason. People kept painting them bright colors and giving them alloy wheel to make it look like a damn hotwheel, even as a kid I thought it looked stupid. Wasn't until recently I began to appreciate them because I began looking at them in their factory state.

Why are 4 door classic cars so unpopular?

We have a lot of them in Europe because Americans ignored them for the longest time, making them cheaper to import. And by a lot I mean as a share of the number of American imports, not as a share of traffic overall.

Its just a shame. I get tired of people telling me i wasted cash by buying a 4 door (despite it being rare now)

The only way to get performance out of old american blocks is to either increase bore size or stroke of the pistons, or increase the amount of fuel coming out of a carburetor by replacing it or boring it out.

Muffler has literally nothing to do with this as most of the work a muffler can do to increase performance comes from the fact that a catalytic converter has been put onto the vehicle.
