Yep. Ex's dad killed her mom after we had a kid, ex lost it, started doing drugs and eventually started applying for credit cards in my name, racked up tens of thousands in debt in the span of a few months. She vanished with our kid and eventually surfaced saying that I was abusive (which I wasn't) and even though I could prove she was doing drugs, the state gave her custody.
So now I have a kid I can't ever see, and basically pay my ex's rent.

Sounds like what my brother got himself into. He ended up selling his damn near perfect 1974 Camaro for lawyer costs to try and get custody, they didn't even give him the time of day. This state makes it nearly impossible for a man to get custody.
