Hello thread, I'm new here, looking for some advice.
Recently I've got rekt in champion warrens by the Skiver Swine. Setup of my party was
4. Arbalest 3. Houndmaster 2. Flagellant 1. Antiq.

Monsters on champion have sick DODGE and PROT, so I should use the both marks on them in order to deal real damage. Some of them have very hight DEBUFF RESISTANCE and -DODGE or -PROT can be resisted. I cannot burst anyone in my first turn.
Champion monsters have decent bleed resist even in warrens and flagellant's bleed become useless.

I was using Antiq.(with +SPEED trinkets, 13 total SPEED) PROTECT ME on flagellant in order to get his HP low while using Martyr's Seal to deal damage.
On the third round Skiver Swine(who have) get his turn before Antiq. and blow her to the 4st place with death's door. Next hit did kill her, my formation was broken, Arbalest with Wrathful Bandana lost his ability to deal more damage and use -DODGE debuff. I was rekt.

What went wrong? Not enough SPEED on antiq.? Or the conception of that setup was a failure for the champion level?

The lategame grind to unlock all the bosses is so painful

Initiative rolls for speed are based on a d8 you you need to have 8 more speed than something to make sure that hero goes before it.

Also, stun doctor is the best shit ever and will help immensely.

Sounds like damage output is the problem. Antiq and flag won't get the job done. Occultist can mark and -dodge the skiver in one turn. Then blow him up with arb/hound/whatever.

So I left the game for a little bit and coming back and noticing changes now. Did they nerf the various status buffing trinkets? Like the +30% generic ones are now 20% and the 40% class specific ones are all now 20% as well. Why?

Might try reskining the Highwayman to a martial artist. I don't know how to make custom skill effects and stuff so it will suck.

its a strategy thats doomed to fail since you are actively putting yourself in a position where after all that setup the flagellant can still die on the first hit

if you insist on using antiquarians party them with man at arms since he can riposte, HWM works too, but he can die to a few bad hits

You need to find the name + description strings that point to the image names, I think.

Arbalest is a healer, dogboy can heal himself, flagellant can heal without being at half, and antiquarian has a heal.

So far I haven't experimented with his extreme health swings like some people are doing. The way I use him he's just a frontline tank who deals bleed damage. Then when he gets a bit beat up he can come in with a clutch heal or a big bleed hit. Lower risk, but possibly lower reward. In that role he's very serviceable, albeit only against mobs with low bleed resists. You're probably not getting as much damage as some other frontliners, but played that way it's very safe because you can heal him up to nearly full health every time he drops below 50%.

drink blood if not a vampire, or holy water if a vampire. Blood deals 11-ish damage and the holy water gives a 4*3 blight, and both give strong stress.

Also, if you get him to max stress, he'll have chain heart attacks every few turns. The rapturous effects (skipping turns, hitting allies etc) are pretty annoying but it's extremely powerful. I also like to give him the Bloodthirsty ring, so that his heals don't bring him above 50% health.

You could make him a ninja and replace gun skills with shurikens
also, tracking shot should be like, centering himself, or balancing his soul or whatever

He's risky.

He's kind of like occultist in that his heals are... inconsistant, although with occultist, it's pure RNG, while flagellant depends on more tactics. He's a high risk/high reward kind of guy.

Also, being a frontline healer, he kind of switched up the party layouts. You can't have him with two lepers or helions or crusaders (unless you want him completely neutered)

Most of DD's designs are aesthetically amazing in even minuscule details. Subtle hints of gore and terror lies in every corner of the dungeon's art like Warren is filled with human flesh and the heroes are fitted to look well equipped for their purpose.

The amount of sperging out heroes do while under CC-craving/bloodlust is so damn annoying. I don't even care about the need for blood or the stat changes, but the random shuffling and random actions make be dread the next encounter with bloodsuckers in a place where they completely break the mood.
