Hawke was a good protagonist, but he/she's a shit RPG character. You play them, you don't roleplay them. I prefer both the Warden and the Inquisitor for writing purposes for this reason, because there's more room to make the character mine.

Inquisitor doesn't have any more roleplay value, it's just that the personalities that you can choose from are all boring.

What I'm trying to say is that Hawke was a damn good protagonist. Such a shame that they couldn't quite get it right with the Inquisitor.

In my experience, RPG OCs are only as boring as the people playing them.

I agree, I am enjoying sarcastic Hawke, s/he is a great protagonist. Though I still prefer my Warden because of the greater roleplaying options. The Inquisitor felt so bland compared to them.

Not when you have only 2-3 answers to choose from that actually just say the same thing anyway. And don't start with headcanon now. You can't implement the personality you make up in your head into the game whatsoever, it's just not there.

The companion AI in Inquisition is so good that you don't need to manually setup tactics like in previous games.
