Is the Corvette the best winter beater?

Nope, even with the traction control on it can still break loose on dry pavement. Also, you'll be stuffing the brake ducting with snow. And the frame is still susceptible to road salt.

The Subaru market is an interesting one.

>Look at Subaru's as I find them neat
>Literally base my purchase decisions on looks alone: all cars have problems and I like fixing them
>What the fuck is wrong with this market, prices are outrageous for non running cars
>Try and talk people down, but they just go off and tell me they'll hold onto it
>Finally buy a running WRX for 4700
>Fixed numerous little issues here and there
>Fun in the snow, enjoyable on a summer day
>Couple years later, last year, get bored of my Subaru
>Engine is starting to knock ever so slightly when you let off the throttle
>Don't feel like pulling the engine again as I just had it out for a clutch job
>Look at other listings to get a price idea - prices have gone up for broken cars
>Didn't put a price on my ad, just $1
>Sold it for $6100

I'd say he was a clueless college kid. Him and his buddies showed up, looked at it, and then offered me cash right there and then. It was the weirdest sale I've ever been apart of.
>Group of college kids showed up in a loud Lexus or Toyota
>They all start walking around the car
>I walk up and introduce myself
>I start telling them what I've done, how long I've had it
>Guy asks me why I'm getting rid of it, tell him I think it's developing a knock
>At this point they're asking if they can start it
>Not one kid can talk at a time, they all have to say something at once
>Car starts up, they popped the hood
>They're sticking their faces right up to the engine bay listening
>Heads moving back and forth just listening
>Not a word was said for a brief moment
>One kid gets in the driver's seat and starts revving on the engine
>I'm worried at this point as one kid is wearing a hoodie and the hood strings are dangling near the accessory belts
>They probably spent a solid 10 minutes just listening and talking amongst themselves
>One kid walked up and asked if I'd take 6,100 cash right now

They never test drove it or anything. Just mindless revving.

A cheap Audi is an expensive Audi.

>unironically believing this
Confirmed for never having owned an Audi, let alone a cheap B5. These things are a total bitch to work on and constantly need repairs.
