Do those on PC and whose monitors are 60Hz , do you find it unplayable if the game drops below 80FPS? I start noticing stuttering around 85 so i always aim for 100-120FPS , the game is smooth then

I have 144hz on half-adaptive vsync so it's really running at 72 FPS. It's better to keep it lower and stable than constantly changing

I have mine with vsync on at 60 fps and ive never had a problem. im not some autist who cares about getting amazing fps.

Mostly because each game has lightings systems specifically tailored to the models, and SFM only uses source lighting, and even then there's no presets for which style of lighting (GO, CS:S, Portal, TF2, etc.) which makes it barebones in that aspect

Well the game felt normal and smooth when I was on 60hz.

Now I have had 144hz for a year now, it feels laggy when it drops to 60 fps. I accidentally set it to 60hz recently without realising and I couldn't play to a proper standard at all.

If you didn't care about getting amazing FPS, you'd have it locked at 30.

It's something that can very well happen inadvertently, so I wouldn't say it's "cheating" or anything, just a clever and unforseen application of game mechanics (if the defuser requires a valid near bomb area defined by the map maker and a flat surface within it to be placed, take away the surface).

TL;DW: If you partially or fully destroy the floor of an objective, attackers cannot plant the defuser in the spots you destroy.

This can be used to prevent popular planting spots with good cover such as pillbox in 3F Kanal, or the outside entrance to Armory in 2F Border, or Hookah in 2F Coastline.

As if bomb mode wasn't played out trash already.

I wouldn't call it cheating. Defenders have to expel resources to damage the floorboards, and that also gives Attackers a clear view on to the Defenders down beneath.

That's the thing though, if done correctly and you only partially destroy the floor by aiming the shotgun at an angle, only the top half of the floorboards are blown off while it remains intact from underneath, making the attackers unable to plant without them being able to see up unless they spend the resources to blow it up from their perspective

According to the video the Supernova seems to be the best at this sort of thing, although Smoke's can be used as well, leaving the Bearing/SMG-11 as their primary (as usually happens anyway)

I think you've misunderstood.
If the floor is destroyed, the defuser CAN NOT be planted on the metal beams left behind. The game requires a clear flat surface for a defuser plant, and the exposed metal railing does not count.

I understood that part initially. I guess I was not clear in my initial statement, so I'll reiterate that I am okay with the defenders rendering areas of the bomb site physically impossible for attackers to plant the defuser on. I think it is a legitimate strategy, and not cheating.

seriously I've played against either diamonds or unranked dudes with 200+ CL in 5 of my last 8 matches. i'm gold 4.

Well if it makes you feel any better, I don't try hard in casual at all. I normally use it to try new shit, play ops I don't normally play, help out the newfags and so on. Like today I've been using casual to get to know Cav a little more (after having only a few hours playtime with her). So I've actually been getting my shit pushed in as I'm shit with her pistol.

I've also been babysitting level 10s and shit and teaching them good ways to defend, which normally gets thrown back in my face but oh well.

What scopes/sights should I be using?

Just ACOG on everything I'm able to, then anything else for any other gun?

Or are certain guns only good at certain ranges, and should therefore not use ACOGs?

acog on anything you are able to control the recoil with. if you want to get more autistic than holo on maps that you know you will be attacking in close range.

ACOGs and vertical grips all around. Headshots are king and those will get you the most headshots.

The other sights are equivalent with each other. A lot prefer to go ironsites on the MP7 because the ironsights are extremely good but other than that, yeah just slap a holographic or whichever you prefer on.

Oh I guess ironsights for shotguns as well. It doesn't matter what you use but getting rid of the bulky optic does give you more vision

would also say smokes smg but why would anyone use that.
reflex has a smaller housing and gives better vision around the sight but the shots hit the top of the triangle so if that puts you off use the red dot.

Holo really that good? I always preferred reflex. Seems like I can see more around the little triangle than I can with the holosight crosshair.

The small dot is very nice for accuracy, the red dot is too thick for most players and the triangle doesnt show well in high light.
