Thoughts?

226,000 miles is a tad too high, but then again, you can't find an RX with a better price at lower mileage.

Can someone advise on this? Worth it for just over 5k? As much detail as possible is appreciated

I'd say it's definitely worth it, it's no Cossie but it looks just as fun to toss around.

humboldt.craigslist.org/cto/d/89-bmw-325i-awesome-driving/6371292006.html

What's your thoughts on this lads? It wouldn't be my only car. It's got high miles but it looks maintained judging from the engine

Can I hope to find a better deal?

What is this board even

how do you fags save up ~$15K to just pay cash for craigslist shit?

i ask 'will you take $500 cash + modded xbox in trade' and they say yes.

Check the owner's statement that they're having the car re-registered by DVLA as an RS Turbo - if the shell wasn't an RS shell and they've transplanted RS running gear into it they won't get the car registered as an RS, it just won't happen. Long-running RSOC membership experience speaking in this case.

If they've swapped over the VIN plate and they've cut out the floor-stamped chassis number from the rotten RS they used for parts to weld into the new shell (the chassis number on these is under a flap in the carpet between the driver's seat and the sill) then they might be trying to have the car registered that way - RS Escorts are police magnets and the chassis number will be the first thing they check, traffic police (although rare now) will spot a non-RS shell with this done to it and they will impound the car as a potential ringer, with the right supporting evidence you might get the car back but it will have a Q plate on it (categorized as rebuilt from parts of unknown origin) and your insurance will double.

As for what else to look for? Check the battery tray, if it's covered in underseal it's probably rotten underneath (batteries on these had a tendency to leak and eat through the metal), and that's a big job to sort. Check the boot floor and the spare wheel recess for corrosion, check where the sills meet the floor near the rear arches, and check the door A-pillars.

Avoid, at all costs.

Base trim 2000 Isuzu Rodeo

orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/d/for-sale-2000-isuzu/6374228587.html

Good truck? Always had a soft-spot for Rodeos, the only visible downside I can see is that it's 2WD only.

howcome?

The underbody is probably rusted to shit, which ate the previous Escort's bodywork.

they're good, as any car is, if they've been taken care of. If its neglected you will have a lot of problems. Check thoroughly for rust and leaks.

doesn't really sound worth it... Fuck I just wanted a cool retro car and rarely see these up for grabs at a low price

thanks for your help

kek'd. Literally a RWD camry

What you might find at your price is a later RS Escort and you stand a better chance of finding one that hasn't had its identity fucked about with - look for 1992 Mk5 RS2000s as these still sell for cheaper than the Mk4 platform cars. They are a lot "softer" than Mk4s (which were softer than the Mk3s) to appeal to a wider range of customers (didn't work - only the Cosworth sold well from RS variants on that platform) but you can get some nice suspension kits for them that will tighten the car up a fair bit.

Oddly though these rusted even worse than the Mk4s - look around the fuel filler for corrosion or recent filler/paint, and check the rear wheel arches.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

RWD is objectively superior to anything FWD.

Thoughts on these?

denver.craigslist.org/ctd/d/2003-nissan-altima-35-se/6379202137.html

I'm thinking I could try offering 4300 or so on the CL because of the dings and hail.

I'd go with the Altima.

yeah thats what it is. the higher trim is what you want the JZX90 which comes with either a 1jzgte or a 2jz-ge (non turbo)

cop?

fortmyers.craigslist.org/col/cto/d/1993-toyota-pick-up/6379166792.html

Go for it, even the fake alloy hubcaps look ungodly clean.

You think I could knock a couple hundred or tax off it or is it already a good price?

Just picked up a 6 speed CL-S of my own about a month ago and so far I'm really enjoying it. It seems to be a really solid, comfortable car, but it still has enough power to be fun when I want it to. Pretty sure VQ35s burn a lot of oil. A buddy of mine had a 6 speed Altima SE-R a few years back and that car gave him nothing but problems. Not sure if the base model will be any different, but I'd definitely take the CL-S over the Altima.

You could definitely knock a couple hundreds off since the mileage is a tad higher than the ideal 150k.

Alright, which one of you fuckers is this?

what?

inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/d/98-honda-crv-5-speed-manual/6367832808.html

This car baffles me.

It's literally the Civic copypasta's SUV spin-off.

If I was refreshing my CR-V, I would have just left it at the seats desu.

I've heard about the oil burning with the VQ35s, but I'm not too bothered by it unless there are other typical or more serious problems with the car.
The CL-S definitely looks nicer and comfier, but my inner jew is thinking about if it's worth the extra money compared to the Altima if I'm mainly concerned with reliability and comfort to a lesser extent. The 4 doors and roomier back on the Altima is a plus, but I'd imagine the CL has a pretty roomy back itself, and the low miles and aesthetics are a plus.

what is baffling about it?

Are you not aware of the huge Honda cult in california? plenty of people either modify CR-V's or use their engines as they have the K24

Holy shit, one of you fuckers better jump on that

Fuck. I live in Nashville and literally just got a $4k check yesterday because I was t-boned on my bike by a fat old bitch. Give me 5 reasons why I should get these and I might do it

You can now bring parts for your bikes with the truck beds.

You can now be a part of the wonderful off-roading community, and take on mud trails as a hobby.

You can now brag about a very cool special edition Hardbody, everybody likes Hardbodies.

Those stripes man, they are a blast from the past, you now have a museum piece and I guarantee you will be the center of attention in any Cars & Coffee.

But I was really wanting another Moto Guzzi :(

Wait , I saw the photo of the "totalled" bike.Just a few scratches, really. Why do they total this? Why don't you just fix it?

No m8, it was comprehensively destroyed. I'm pretty lucky to be alive. Picture doesn't do it justice. Sucks because it was such a rare bike and I literally can't find another one. But hardbodies have always had a soft spot in my heart. I'm not poor so I could afford both, but do I really need a Z, 2 bikes, and 2 trucks?

it is indeed a rare and collectible bike.
Still, to me it just loks like plastic panels, and a slightly bent frame, maybe. Fix it. It desreves to live ffs.

Both frames are fucked. The engine is fucked. The only thing salvageable is the front fork. I loved that bike more than life itself, but it's too far gone. Otherwise, I would have tried.

My friend is looking for a new daily driver and picked out these 2 so far:

tricities.craigslist.org/cto/d/1991-lexus-es250/6378794211.html

charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/d/1995-bmw-325i/6376386074.html

I know the Lexus is just a glorified Camry but it’s a V6, 5 speed, and stock so imo it’d be a lot better than some salvage BMW. His problem with it is the fact that it’s fwd.

Great cars; though I'd ask if it ever had its timing chain replaced. If not be wary.

bump, please help a /brit/ out

bump

I like the Z31 style better too but they are inferior in every way to the Z32s. They have a lot of problems as well.

What's the general etiquette on craigslist buying?
Should most of the questions and such be done over e-mail/phone or should I hold some for the meeting to have some stuff to bargain with at the moment?
Should I make my offers before meeting or during the meeting?
How early before being able to meet is too early to bother with contacting them?
I'm but a simple autist, any tips?

text in full sentences and don't make excuses for why anything is anything. also if you are no longer interested say so.

I sell shot on Craigslist. I just want people to be honest with their intentions. If you think the price is too high, discuss it with the seller. Odds are he just wants it gone with a fair amount of cash in his pocket. If you dont want it just tell him. Dont do the ill let you know bullshit

>should the questions be over the phone or in person
Ask over the phone. Its a waste of time to meet in person and find out that its not what you want
>should i make offers before the meeting?
Yes, the only reason you should meet is to inspect the product and exchange if the product is in the shape described
>how early before before being able to meet is too early to bother contacting them
Ive had someone call about a part i was selling. we arranged a price and met to exchange within an hour

How come nobody ever talks about the mr-s? What's so undesirable about it

What is it with people and the police station do they think there's just a bunch of swat members just chillin in there "oh we got another Craigslist transaction locked and loaded"

Is a week in advance too early for getting something figured out or at least letting someone know I'm interested?
I feel like it's a lot of time for the guy to back out or find someone else to sell it to.

How does the sale itself work? Do we have to go through anything or fill out paperwork, or is it just trading the money and keys?
