1990 Isuzu Trooper

I like this truck very much.

Any isuzu

>what is ordering parts off the internet and having them delivered to your house

Except the badge-engineered ones from GM.

Iktf
>be me
>never been a car person, but now have a massive motorboner because $500 muscle cars are cool
>the day has come, let us go forth with $30 and find something that fits my car
>hunt for about 30 minutes before finally finding one that’s actually willing to piece out cars
e-excuse me sir, do you know where there might be any older fords?
>the guy looks at me, half laughing his ass off, half dumbfounded that this city slicker managed to get enough Spanish to find this place
Aww hell naw, we just like shot wherever it goes
>take backpack, socket wrench set, WD-40, and some food and a knife with me and set out hiking
>hike and search for four hours
>shitloads of miatas, B2000s, and other 90’s era shit
>some cool old stuff
>hell, shitloads of chebby und dodge
>no more than two fucking fords in that entire damn junkyard

For fucks sake, what is it about north Alabama and having no ford anything anywhere.
I just want to know what that feeling of success actually feels like.

SN95 'stang?

Is that a Colorado with an after market isuzu grill

p.much

1969 Torino.
Apparently I need to find somewhere dedicated to old cars.

Hell, they don’t even have any old mercury or Lincoln’s to gut.

I just bought a 92 SWB model. Can't wait to get it ready and head up to the mountains for some serious offroad action

Nice, how many miles?

>delivering pizza in maxima for years
>tired of blandness
>finally buy a 'nice' car with personality, 330 vert
>"I make enough that I can afford the maintenance", I thought
>roof down driving around beach side roads with the roof down
>loudly playing Rio by Duran Duran
>hm, what's this steering wheel shake?
>Oh, the majority of the entire front suspension needs replacing
fast forward four months, $3500 in mechanic bills/parts I did myself
>only driven the fuckin car 9,000 miles

>hand me down 92 B2600 grandpa owned
>get in accident because slick as fuck roads
>cant get parts through auto store
>cant find a junkyard in the state that has parts
>cant find a junker online
>parts i need for repair are pretty basic though $150 online
>$450 for shipping because i live in alaska
>poor college student who just needs to be able get to class
>drove without half the front for 2 months before a family friend brought the parts up as oversized luggage

>finally get a good job after college
>save enough to buy a decent enough car in cash
>find the perfect one on craigslist
>get anxious about spending that much cash
>wait two weeks
>its still up
>text the guy
>"no its gone"

Man, I can't think of a car with far more horror stories than E36 platform BMWs.

No wonder they are so cheap in CL.

user, its time for a second parts car

>the price of your car is increasing constantly
>so are the cost of parts
>have no intention of ever selling it
>the price of a gearbox now is equal to the price of the car 10 years ago

This is why it’s just easier to lease a new civic every 3 years.....

Just sayin....
Yeah you’re fucked. Those were great, but they are like completely gone now.

what car?

>e36

Das an e46 mane

Yeah, it's pretty depressing that they are so few of them nowadays. I'll run my Trooper to it's last legs because I absolutely love the shit out of it, boxy goodness. Next SUV will definitely be a Land Cruiser.

It's also not my main car, that would be the '15 Mirage I bought for $4,500 on CL. Pretty good deal for a new-ish second hand car, I must say.

Soz, brainfart. I just woke up.

Sorry to all E36 owners, those were pretty solid.

>tfw your headlights are so glazed-over they can’t be fixed anymore
>tfw replacing headlights involves removing both front wheels, inner fenders, and part of the bumper
>the headlights are cheap but it’s too cold to work on the car in the driveway, you have no garage, and don’t have time for a 3-hour project

Why, Chrysler? Why? I don’t want to pay $300+ in labor just to do my $50 each headlight units.

Have you tried it?

youtube.com/watch?v=UEJbKLZ7RmM

>new civic
pigfat

>Saab

Have you tried polishing them up? Patience, right grit and proper technique makes wonders

I fixed up two sets while I was in the US, and I was surprised at how well it turned out

I have done every method...multiple times. The issue is that the yellowing has gone so deep into the plastic that the only way to get rid of it would be to sand away ALL the plastic.

Actually an RA rodeo I think

i-290 actually

sometimes i'm not sure if i want to die or just be completely ignorant of feels

>waiting in line at junkyard to pay for side marker light socket
>Guy in front of me starts making small talk and tells me to just put it in my pocket and go
>Don't wanna be dishonest but also don't wanna be a pussy
>Go find the car I got it off
>Put it back
>Leave

Two of them sitting in a yard in Ontario last time I was there
U Pull yard Courtice, Ontario

Junkyard not gonna happen. But I was able to find every part I needed after some digging for my '72 Saab. Only paid $100 shipping stuff from Germany.
