Ride smart and you will be fine. Go get better gloves, maybe a set of FroggToggs, and you're good. Wearing earplugs under your helmet can help reduce fatigue too. Also, there is an AMTRAK line that runs from NY to FL and back that takes cars, and possibly motos too.

Anyone else think it's funny that EF doesn't post nearly as much anymore as he used to but he is always there when someone mentions him.
On something with at least a 250cc engine, it is, lots of twisty roads everywhere, lots of good motorway for going fast, really long days during the summer and lots of scenic routes
On a bike with a 10hp engine its like madmax, there are so few guards (cops) in the northwest of the republic that nobody really bothers to follow the laws on learner drivers, getting your licence or maintaining your car, people do whatever the fuck they want, let 14 year olds take cars to the shop, drunk drive, let learners go out on their own (the guards don't even do anything about that one if they see it, big story here this week about the fact that they never bother to enforce the law since it was changed five years ago), all of this leads to dealing with shit drivers in poorly maintained vehicles on roads with lots of tight corners and crap all over them
NI is like a paradise in comparison, if only for the fact that most of the cars are in decent order, you still get lots of fucking donegal drivers crossing into it in my particular area though, and you can spot them a mile off
