>rust repair with body filler

Have you ever seen a hamster run on a wheel without stopping?

To cover rust holes you should cut the rust out completely and weld in new metal.

Body filler over rust is like putting a rug over a dead body, sure everything seems ok at first, but sooner rather than later the situation is going to get much worse

Sheet metal.

It's a temp fix man, cant afford anything else but cup of noodles.
What's a cheap welding kit to use?

Fuck me, that really makes sense.
just a temp thing

Harbor freight has a $70 welder. I havent get any good results out of it but ive only had to weld a handful of things

I hope you're good at welding.

I haven't had any experience on welding, so if it looks like shit oh well.

My classic has bondo in it and you can only tell at certain angles while its on a lift. If it was done properly (which im hoping since the po was a body man trying to restore it), should i be ok?

>cheap welding kit,
At this point, all you need is
>angle grinder
>drill and drill bit
>sheet metal shears
>rivit gun and rivits
>some tar
>paint can

1. Cut out the rusted area with the angle grinder, try to make it as rectangle as possible.
2. Cut a piece of sheet metal about an inch bigger than the area cut out on the car
3. Paint the panel and car the best you can with the pain can
4. Place the sheet metal up to the car so that it covers the hole you made.
5. Slap some tar where the new panel touches the car (this prevents rust)
5. Drill a hole through the panel and car.
6. Use the rivit gun and rivit the panel to the car
7. Do the same for the rest of the panel, drilling and riviting the panel to the car

Are you me?

I'm not making a Frankenstein looking car with patches, will those be visible?

Stop being a pussy

Fuck off m8, I don't need your negativity here.

Clean, fibreglass and body filler

Have you considered rust converter?

pc7 or jb weld works good

Look, it is the cheapest thing you can do that would stop the cancer and it would be functional. At least until you can afford to have it profeasionally fixed. Of course it will look rat, isnt rat the style with you kids

Sheet metal and autobody adhesive. It might not look nice, but it will be pretty much permanent if you clean all the rust out properly.
