Yo /tekgen/. Just wondering if you guys would be up for a cross thread tournament against /fgg/.
Dominic Peterson
katarina has a fat ass desu
Hudson Wood
What sound does he make again?
Noah King
Yes, I'd be down for it.
Even though you guys would lose horribly
Dylan Bailey
...
John Brown
Which characters are the best at opening people up in Tekken 7?
Levi Powell
Europe?
Leo Perry
it jiggles too
Benjamin Hughes
Needs more!
Grayson Sanders
I just can't play any other characters after playing Feng, I get bored of them after like 10 matches.
Feng has it all while the other characters are just so focused on 1 or two things
Chase Diaz
>main yoshi >kinda wanna sub drag because his playstyle and design appeal to me >don't wanna play drag because all the tierwhores play him
why am i like this
Ethan Edwards
O S S E
Jeremiah Peterson
You are insecure
Evan Turner
is feng fun? i kinda dabbled with him a little bit when I first started playing but lost interest in him after playing other characters. Is he worth subbing? I'd be willing to learn him
Lincoln Lopez
Ageha could beat all of fgg with her eyes closed.
He's extremely well-rounded with a bit of everything. I totally feel that away after him because everything just feels so smooth and cohesive
autism
Juan Jones
Characters built around mix-ups/gimmicks, so Hwoarang, Xiaoyu, Eddy or Yoshi.
Aside from that, possiby Miguel As he has the best lows in the game imo.
Camden Jenkins
>Feng has it all I agree Stupid noises Dumb flailing animations Eyebrows so ridiculous heihachi is jelly Cheesey lore
Feng is ass lmao
Chase Rodriguez
REMEMBER TO PLAY THE OLD MAN
Camden Mitchell
I might be. Kinda at that point of saying fuck it and shamelessly playing Drag
Ian Fisher
Yeah he's really fun, not insanely combo oriented but instead using his entire moveset to open people up, dodging and parrying shit with his stances.
John Howard
Fuck you, I can't!
Blake Sullivan
you mean the discord capcucks that got btfo by some random redditor gief in their main game? no thanks
Cooper Barnes
depends how the opponent cracks. panic mashing, steve. trying to block and backdash but not sidestep, hwoarang. trying to commit to sidewalks a lot to make an opening, paul.
of course every character can open people up well enough, it's just that trying to mash vs these chars is very risky and the reward is huge for them or the moves they commonly use just naturally destroy that kind of defense.
Jason Scott
>Not liking snake eyebrows
Eyebrows are a power source in Tekken.
Charles Perry
*shoulders you* HYAAAAAAA
Stay blue kiddo.
Easton Mitchell
>Jins b3 only juggles into b3 if the 2nd b3 is b3~f
explain this, I can't
Grayson Sullivan
when are the /fgg/ cucks fucking back off to /fgg/ already?
Robert Cook
Whats Leos game play like?
I dont really get why s/he is so great, average damage combos
less recovery on the cancel and it moves you forward is my guess
Evan Murphy
>average damage combos
Nathaniel Evans
>shoulder is his go to I think it's you who will be stuck in blue
Ayden Gutierrez
That's fine. Just wanna do this for fun.
Just /fgg/ nothing to do with discord.
Jose Robinson
Play the robot
Julian Lewis
Leo's bnb off of df2 does 60 damage. He's right. Leo's combo damage is average.
Connor Smith
>that are quite difficult to land, and doesnt have any good low launchers or long range pokes
Oh I understand you're some Asuka shitter
Levi Cox
basic launchers df2, uf4, ws2 get about 60, what are you doing that can do more?
Caleb Wood
So I'm about 3 minutes into this chicken tutorial Aris made. Is this anything I'm going to need to know at a blue level? I feel like my time is better served learning other shit
Bentley Wilson
based muay thai zombie
William Lopez
Stop putting me against characters I NEVER see when i'm in my promo matches
No wonder they put Akuma in this game instead of Ryu. Had to keep the world's power in balance.
Noah James
Don't think of chickening as an absolute technique you must implement in your play. It's just a neat little way to counter parries.
Remember; Knees, Shoulders, Elbows and Headbutt moves can't be parried, so if you're not comfortable trying to learn Chickens, use those types of moves instead.
Jeremiah Ortiz
can someone explain me how to play like nina? i cant progress my gameplay, i demoted from brawler to expert, i watched some combos and they're hard as f u ck, so im keeping it simple..i need more movility? nina is full offensive? any advice ?
Thomas Rodriguez
Well yeah no shit you're going to get more damage off of his best launcher but it's not like you whiff/block punish with that thing.
Juan Jackson
You have to do those combos and execution
Oliver Wood
so assuming the combo is optimal with the regular post launch part >b+1,4, d/f, ws3, f+4,2, S!, dash, f+4, df, ws1+2
hitting the big damage unsafe launcher and still only gets 73 . Leo is a wimp
Ryan Cox
Extremely well rounded character good punishes great mixup options from both stances low launchers hardly matter at higher levels of play because no one eats them, meanwhile her db4, 1 is quick enough to catch people off guard doesnt need super long range pokes because xhe works best from close ranges and qcf1 is fine
so because this player doesnt do it you cant either?
but my Feng is mid-yellow and hes not even my main
Henry Reed
but I can't user
Austin Stewart
The more I play the worse I get, there's too much shit I need to know.
Henry Carter
Thanks, that's what I figured. I already have a few moves I use to hurt parries like Asukas, so I'll stick to that for now
Grayson Ramirez
become korean
Jack Peterson
you whiff punish with it a ton that fucking stance crushes highs and some mids, it hits all over people, less so with better players but its still useful
BOK 2 is safe.
Jason Thomas
leo gets a lot of her damage from corner mixups and luckily her combos carry to the wall on basically every map
Alexander Bennett
Moves you forward before you hit it? It's the same button, you just choose whether you want the stance or not
Brayden Rodriguez
>you whiff punish with it a ton
Easton Lopez
holy shit, now im sad
Henry Reyes
How exactly do you inout that SS 1 cancle?
Jayden Cooper
We got a walled stage? Fuck outta here boy I ain't re-matching your ass.
Benjamin Peterson
I wish there was a fan art of all the robits (Alisa Jack and Bryan)
Adam Bennett
Is this an effective routine if I want to get better at not being shit? These are moves set on repeat on random that the Bryan dummy does. >snake edge that needs to be WS launcher punished >a throw that's broken with either punch >high, high, low string that has to be WS punished
Just did that for about an hour and I could get to the point where I could get 15+ successful defenses in a row. Just want to know if I'm practising wrong or not.
Evan Torres
bryan aint no chump robot
Hunter Cox
If you want it bad enough you could always pay some drawfag to do it
Jonathan Collins
its good but add like his hopkick or b+1 or any other punishing mid so you don't get in the habit of ducking too much
Isaiah Turner
sure you know how to defend against bryan, now go practise against the other 20+ characters
Ayden Hughes
i love how fast you can end matches with claudio and his running 2
Charles Russell
GUYS HOW DO I PLAY STEVE PLEASE HELP ME, I CAN'T FIND I DECENT GUIDE
Parker Jenkins
it works when you know what the start of animations look like, but you'll still have to get used to other characters animations. just cause you learn to block snake edge on reaction doesnt mean youll learn to block lili's snake edge-like sweep. you gotta get used to each animation
Grayson Thompson
Play the pirate who's stuck in the closet.
Justin Lopez
>add like his hopkick or b+1 or any other punishing mid Alright got it. Are there any specific really good Bryan pokes that generally every player uses in neutral? Also want to practice whiff punishing with something practical.
Yeah I'm well aware of that. I already have Feng and Lili's low stuff to learn to react to as well eventually.
Hudson Moore
Yeah I think that's alright. You can do a lot there. >jab into some mid you have to step >snake edge >throws >df2,1 All of these require different responses.
Daniel Myers
ub~b. It's really not that hard. Just a lot of practice and you'll be wasting your time.
Jason Hall
So /tekgen/ for those of you interested in doing this tournament with /fgg/ what system should it be on?
Joseph Martin
Why is that even a question? PC because it isn't shit.
Julian Young
Why a tournament? Why not just beating everyone in /fgg/ every day? We can hold daily lobbies
Jayden Turner
I second this
David Torres
Pretty sure most people here browse both, so theres no real point.
Chase Ortiz
This actually. I'm not even interested in having an online tournament with a bunch of retards when I can just be in a lobby. Or at a local.
Ryan Bennett
b1, u4, 3+4, his df1 strings, df2,1 check out his top 15 and add some of his best mids and whiff punish those
don't worry about learning too much at once, taking it one character at a time is a great way to learn in this game and not overwhelm yourself The snake edge training wont directly carry over because the animations are different but it helps a ton with other characters, once i started looking at my opponent more i could see the spinning, body going low animation in general and block lows that i hadn't trained against
Hudson Brown
I can already see highwaystar and doug shitting it up with tournament illegal pizza strats.
Lucas Reyes
I play a vanilla ewgf-less kaz, see me in tekken
Camden Lopez
Those tits are too big
Kayden Powell
Fuck up doug. You suck.
Nolan Perez
Finally playing another character which isn't claudio is insane, so many tools, pokes and launchers, different stances etc. I barely understand it.
Ethan Wilson
Just wondering.
Sounds like fun honestly. I only said tournament because it usually get more people itching to play.
Just figured there'd be people who mostly only browse one or the other.
>wasting your time. how so? I though that was important for playing Nina? like Wavedashing for mishimas
also but do you also know how to input Hayashida step thing as well? cant find video explaining exactly how to do it
Xavier Nguyen
You'll be skipping steps knowing this technical shit without understand how to play neutral as nina before you can even use it properly. If you aren't tight with the SS1 strings, you'll get interrupted a lot. Don't aim for that level but try doing maybe 1 or 2 to open people up first.
Hayashida step is literally just qcb~u.
Joseph Stewart
I played around with Lars for a bit and found out that you can cancel dymanic entry with a sidestep and do it again, does that have any useful purpose?
Elijah Cook
Styling
Adrian Adams
Sadly I'm not.
Camden Long
bryan, drag, or steve? Who do you prefer out of the three.
Prefer could mean anything; fashion, fight style, moves, players, anything goes.
Mason Cox
drag > steve >>> bryan in all categories except Knee on bryan
Camden Reed
why do you guys keep calling people stoners? is it just a tekken thing?
