The only rules are don't deforest the planet, or grief peoples gardens. bottling is frowned upon and excessive abuses (I.G 3+ bots) is bannable.
Otherwise express yourselves as freely as you like.
The Server map was autistically hand crafted certain important resource nodes such as tar can only be found in places it would make sense to find them. I.E
Deserts, Tundras, and Swamps. This requires teamwork and merchants to reliably craft higher end boats.
Stats:Epic Server 2.5 XP gain 6.5X Action rate. PVP enabled.
Server Mods: Spell mod, Seasons mod, bag of holding, improved digging, crop mod, Bounties +several other fixes and tweaks.

Wurm is a village simulator where you can terraform the landscape and play a role a in a dynamic village system such as being the town fletcher, leatherworker, farmer, miner, blacksmith, hunter etc etc. The land is full of mysterious hidden treasures of horrible trolls, demons, spiders, and all manners of sea monsters etc trying to kill you.
