i hydrolocked my car 2 weeks ago, i'm a retard and have no idea how to take my engine apart to pull the spark plugs out (own an 06 Mitsubishi eclipse). just got a guy over, he pulled them and flushed the water out, plugs are wet. codes read my 3rd cylinder is misfiring. i'm hoping some user will be able to give me some insight on how bad this is, i hydrolocked going speed but low rpms (5th gear 40 mph).
Hydrolock
lol good job its probably seized now.
your valves are kill m8. also if it sat for 2 weeks with water in the cylinders they've rusted by now
Sell the cunt to the wreckers. It's fucked. engine swap if it has sentiment value and you want to waste money
First off, what the fuck did you do to get water in the engine in the first place?
Come on, OP. Don't leave us hanging
Part it for a few weeks before scrapping for some extra bread.
did you at least get new plugs and wires
Drove through puddle of water, guy I bought it from put cool air intake on
I did not, should i?
So did you have it towed or did you do something to get it running? Need more info.
once you hydrolock a car like that there's almost no hope for it. unless you wanna spend more on repairs and parts to get running than what the actual value of the car is.
best bet is to scrap it for parts then go buy a new car. sucks that it happened but that car is nothing but a sinkhole for your money now; it'll always have a problem
goodbye engine hello scrapyard
OP your engine tried to compress fuckin water
its borked
spark plugs will not help, in fact nothing will other than craigslisting it to some idiot who cant tell its misfiring
pull the plugs, pull the fuse for the fuel pump, crank for 10 seconds, install new plugs, replace fuse, see if it will start.
if it does: trade immediately after clearing codes
if it does not, choose your destiny: junk / craigslist for sale - car-part.com for new motor
>driving in rain with a CAI
Another retard removes themselves from the road
>mfw ive avoided hydrolocking with CAI the single day it rains a year
god bless arizona
If I want to leave my driveway I have to pass 2 and a half feet of water and risk hydrolock + scraping the car to hell
Thanks driveway pavers. Thanks Sunshine state.
God is doing the country a favor by preventing another cubANO from driving
Either fill it up with quickcrete or buy a vehicle with higher clearance.
I'm an innocent white man being oppressed by the weather you son of a bitch
That puddle is probably just a few inches deep.
If your car is so shit that it can't drive through a few inches of water you should think about killing yourself.
I hate these fucks that mod cars to the point where they can't drive their cars except in absolutely perfect weather... then they complain that they can't drive their cars because the weather hasn't been perfect.
Brilliant!
Stop driving like a nigger. That puddle can't be more then 4 inches deep. If you drive like a normal person you'll have no issues.
The car is bone stock man. The dip is deep enough to submerge the tires easily, and probably the nose as well when the rear exits the driveway.
Bone stock?
Then you're under no threat of hydrolocking your car from that puddle, since air intakes are usually in the upper portion of the front grill, or just inside up under the hood.
Okay, you might scrape, but don't be such a bitch about it.
Go to Home Depot get a shovel and dig away some of the grass that flanks the cement where the puddle is so that the water can drain away.
If you own the property or can get consent from the owner see if you can get some cement to fill the dip up a bit.
You're right, I worry too much. I just can't afford to put any money into my shitbox if something happens.
Thank you for the advice.
>few inches of water
>worried about hydrolocking
Rev up that autism
put some 2x4's across it and build a little bridge
Sounds like someone has a bent rod.
>hydrolocked
Are you sure?
Go to harbor freight and buy an engine hoist. Take that mfer out and fix it
Nigga I'd there's no rod sticking out of the block and only 1 misfire that ain't hydrolocked. It wouldn't run then.
