Just finished this. No clear coat tho.
Currently building a tamiya supra.

That Supra is fire.

...

How's the Tamiya Supra coming along?

Currently just cutting and cleaning parts. Planning on yellow interior and valve cover, and gun metal body. Maybe yellow rims too.

Meanwhile, here's a dusty s2k. First body I clear coated, pretty happy with it.

Tested the rear axle from an e9 csl batmobile on the supra, pretty thicc.

mexiflush pls go

>gunmetal
god tier taste

Here's some more projects that's coming after the supra.
>Tamiya bmw 850
>Fujimi aw11 mr2
>Tamiya rx-7
>Fujimi 911 turbo
>Fujimi Mclaren f1
>Tamiya 911 race-something
>Revell bmw m12 concept car

Planning on doing the rx-7 next.

I want to get a tiny version of my car but the only good ones I can seem to find are of this special edition shit from Japan that costs at least $30...

That dusty deck makes me cringe
Take care of your equipment ffs

Got this from my dad's collection when moving out my parents house. It's not been taken care off as paint is chipping off in some places and it's really dusty and can't really put the top on as I'm afraid it's going to break off the plastic clips. But I'm looking forward to clean/repaint this and give back to my father until Christmas. Anyone got some tips, or should I ask diy or toy?

My 1:1 e46 m3 is more of a toy than the kits tho.

Also explain this, protip: You can't.

half the shit on /toy/ has that on the box, it means nothing

btfo

So if I want in-depth discussions on model cars where do you think I'll get the more satisfactory conversation? /toy/ or Veeky Forums? /toy/ probably doesn't care about cars.

>tfw I was an impatient moron and ruined my Fairlady Z with bad glue and a broken steering rod

How much do these cost and how hard is the process?
All I've got are el cheapo 1/18th $12 toys

They have model kit threads every once in awhile.

About $10-40 including shipping. The 850 was $60, but it's old and out of production.

Noice, gonna keep an eye out for them

This model kit stuff looks pretty neat, do I just buy kits and go at it?

Yeah, you need paint, and tools like knife/side-cutter, small file(s) etc though.

Yo anyone got any videos or websites for someone who's never done a model before? I've had this tamiya silvia for like a year now and haven't gotten around to doing it yet because I have no idea what I'm doing.

Yeah, "plasmo plastic models" have a lot of nice vids on youtube. Mostly air and military stuff, but it's the same basics.

Or if you're lazy like me, just watch one of his vids and copy the techniques
This one's seems pretty nice youtube.com/watch?v=hRR5e-TiqNg

I recommend "just build it" and get another one later when you're more skilled.

Also, imo the hardest part is getting the paint good.

>tfw not sure if I want to build a model because I don't trust my skills

Buying pre-built models is just as good, r-right?

I like to collect models.
