He is harder to take down than most bosses in this game yet he just randomly shows up to shit on my parade and this isn't any parade this is the final fucking run up to the Countess I need my shit to be unfucked more than ever but here is every fucking time."

What district do you think would work best in Stygian (Bloodmoon)? Would it even be worth spending heirlooms on a district?

I was thinking Cartographer Map maybe...

...

im getting invitations in preparation for the viscount since the infestation just hit high

got nearly all lvl3 bosses down, eyeballing a few lvl 5 ones, but need a few more classes ready

If you flee from the fanatic, does he re-appear in the next hallway encounter like the shambler does?

Neat.

It's Weeks, not days. I'm on week 59 too but I'm about to take on the Viscount. Even made a DD1 attempt. What have you been doing all those weeks?

You seem a bit... crippled.

Fucking around, leveling dudes, grinding for crests so I can use the six blueprints I got.

Ok, managed to beat champ fanatic with GR-GR-Vestal-Crusader.
GRs saved the day with crazy lunge crits. Truly the best waifu

MY LIFE FOR THE CRIMSON FLUID

What's the difficulty comparison of DD vs courtyard?

I just finished DD1 and and contemplating enabling and doing all the DLC before I continue to DD2. Opinions appreciated in advance.

>Miss attack against matchman
>now everyone is on deaths door
why is this allowed

Starting first bloodmoon save; need to get heroes strong enough to do the first CC quest, I guess.

Because you should make sure to bring at least 3 reliable damage dealers or that 10% chance to miss can fuck you.
2 HWM with clean guns usually do the trick.

Danke

Can the graveyard event trigger if you have a full roster?

The courtyard is way easier compared DD. You can leave at any time with no penalty, you aren't expected to complete some of the missions in one go, and you come back with all your progress intact. The bosses may give you some trouble but nothing you shouldn't be able to handle at this point.

So I have been riffling through the game files, Red Hook have been missing stuff left, right and center, although minor.
>Musketeer is missing her upgrade values for radiant & bloodmoon(?, unsure) (base, stygian available)
>Flagellant is missing his upgrade values for stygian and radiant (base, bloodmoon available)

The above missing files causes them to revert to their base values (weapon & armor upgrades gold higher/lower based on what mode you are playing)

Get your shit together Red Hook

I sincerely appreciate the feedback.

>mfw
how is that even fun? You take out all the difficulty in the game for 10 minutes of novelty?

But I did, just now.

tfw the first time you fight Vvulf you kill him
tfw the party you sent into the bandit camp the first timewas slaughtered

Updated curio guide where

Beta Crusader user here. I'm still trying to get a grip on DD-style shading so I'm still fiddling with that separately

I'm just wondering if I'm starting to make his head look way too cartoonish in contrast to everything else. Thoughts?

>Attacking the Matchman
>Not bringing PD with double stun trinkets and stunning him to oblivion
>Not bringing a MaA with Riposte that you vapor and equip two major damage trinkets on so that you don't need to waste turns attacking enemy goons when he can just Riposte them dead and in a pinch can hit the Matchman

>Beat all bosses 6 months ago. Including Darkest Dungeon with no deaths, not even at the final boss (3 plague doctor + leper run)
>Hear about Crimson Court DLC
>Here we go again.
>Week 144.
>Just killed Baron.
>Too lazy to farm old dungeons to get infestation level to high and get invites again.
Too much grind.

I do one mission per day and that's about it. Basically my entire group is level 6 and has no negative quirks at all. I'm rich as fuck due to the bank. I'll get through the DLC... eventually.

Is it just me or is his head too small? Can you bring up a different hero so you can compare head sizes? I feel like heads being too small is one of the things that really stands out on some custom classes/skins

The infestation mechanic was a mistake.

So does embarking with less than four heroes affect the dungeon's difficulty in any way, or're you just gimping yourself for them bantz?

I'm guessing you're using a Level Restriction Removal mod? Or do you actually recruit seekers to do the dungeons?

Shit, you're right. His head is just a little too small; it was already smaller than his helmet but I might have made it too small compared to HWM here

So what mod classes are good and aren't OP?

I hear Pit Fighter, Inquisitor and Warlock/Warrior are OP as fuck with 100% stun, huge party-wide Heal/Stress Heal and overly high base damage.

How is Martyr, Cannoneer or Warden?

>new to Darkest Dungeon
>after doing some good runs in the Ruis decide to try out other places
>do Warrens
>4x pig spitters
>they zero in on my Leper
>Leper has a fucking panic attack
>they rotate to the next person
Oh man.

It's absolute shit. The damn invitation system is the only thing holding me back. I know why Red Hook did it though. Otherwise players would rush through the DLC and never feel the impact of the "Crimson Curse" at all.

I fortunately only had 1 single hero with it. I left my cursed occultist at home with a dead rat and just ignored him for the entire time. But during the Baron run I had 3 characters get infected. Was actually short on blood a few times until RNG saved my ass.

I did Baron with only two invitations since I'm basically fully geared up with almost all my characters having locked in the top quirks and with optimized trinkets. It allowed me to take on two crocs in a row, and made it all the way up to right before the Baron himself before I retreated to rest up. I returned and took him out pretty easily, he was always hiding in the second spot for some reason.

(Yes I searched up the courtyard map online and took the most optimal route)

Nowadays I just burn weeks on short quests because the 5% from the bank makes me hundreds of thousands per week.

It needs more texture to it, more of a grainy look. Although I'm assuming it's not meant to be a finished product yet.

>Cannoneer

Weirdly defensive. His main role is stacking buffs and ripostes on himself in preparation for an attack that can either deal devastating damage or miss. Otherwise he can afflict debuffs on the enemy

Besides that there's the musketeer rework that makes her into a more distinct class from the arbalest, she's pretty fun.

Pit Fighter is just a front-position focused Bounty Hunter

Wait until they spit syphilis in your face.

his head size is ok, it's more of his head tilting back too much and his eyes being too high on his face

>Darkest Dungeon logic

No mods. I had some level 1-2's lying around previously, I just got the ones I need to level 2 and went in to do the first Croc fully geared out. He actually got two of them on death's door. But once you figure out how the fuck up his Apex Predator, he becomes manageable.

But speaking of that, I needed level 4's for the Baron (I like to be fully prepared). I made a level 0 Flagellant hang out with my DD survivors crew on a Long mission with a +50% resolve bonus from ancestors portrait. Guy came out a level 4. Flagellant's are sorta broken and extremely durable. Knowing Red Hook they'll probably nerf him to the ground. I'm still pissed what they did to Houndmaster. Bleed needs to be 3 per tick at level 5. And that HP nerf was brutal.

>Nowadays I just burn weeks on short quests because the 5% from the bank makes me hundreds of thousands per week.
I wish there was more to spend gold on. The heirloom grind is far worse than the hunt for gold which can be solved with Antiquarian, multiple medium missions, or some risky torchless runs.

...

Heirlooms aren't even the worst. Shambler ends up dropping everything. Collector head's aren't bad either. I got all 3 before I took a hiatus.

Those fucking music boxes, that's a different tale. I only have the Aria box after all those weeks.

And don't get me started on the Tempting Goblet. Don't have that either.

Where can I get an Occult-chan like this?

Whoops fucked up, was pretty late at night and I thought you meant ancestors items. Heirlooms. Crests and paintings and shit. Got it. I stopped collecting those fucking ages ago since I had upgraded everything. Only now do I have to start picking them up again for the districts, but my supply I had saved up already got half the districts in one go.

Colors I just filled in real quick to make it look a little more consistent, I'll start texturing when I'm further in

Anyways I made his head a little larger, how does it look now?

>told my friend who is relative new to the series that if he put a Torch in the tentacle curio with red orb, he will get a rare trinket and said curio is extremely rare to occur.

>party wipe despite having 3 vestals and one crusader

who /devilish/ here?

>Plaguefu with dark brown hair
>Plaguefu with Leper
M'all about it.

>despite

Logically it doesn't make sense, aesthetically it does. It's better that way.

I introduced my cousin to the game around a year ago, and he was doing pretty well on his 3rd run (he aborted the first two pretty early due to deaths).
I remember he got to the swine boss, and I told him to "figure out what you should kill first". The madman thought I meant wilbur, and took him out. Promptly TPKing him. He rage quit and I don't think he ever played again.

SLOW AND INSIDIOUS

>Those fucking music boxes
A rare drop from a terrible enemy who is not quite rare but uncommon. Fuck whoever came up with that at Red Hook.

You probably need to tilt his head forward a little?
Kinda weird to be tilting backwards when he's attacking.

Anybody?

Alright bois, rate each class's trinket set

>Abom
Eh, the trinkets don't synergize very well with the set bonus. The Chains with Padlock of Transference if you're doing a chain and blight build I suppose

>Antiquarian
Two of Three is interesting at least, makes me curious for a combo with PD. The set bonus is mediocre, but all combined Id supposed its the best trinkets an Auntie could use

>Arby's
Bedtime Story is great, the set bonus and the Childhood Treasure are shit

>BH
*snorts*

>Crusader
Better trinkets out there for him to use like Holy Orders

>Flagellant
Why would you use that instead of Book of Rage and Martyr's Seal?

>GR
I'd say the extra CRIT from the set bonus and the +25% DMG to Lunge and Pickaxe are worth it. Then again, why not use a Raider's Talisman and Lucky Talisman?

>Hellion
Meh. I don't know how to feel about the Warpaint, and the set bonus is nothing to write home about

>HWM
I know the Ancestral and some of the other trinkets are a lot better, but I'd be wanting to use that just to see the constant Virtues over and over

>Houndmaster
Its perfect.

>Jester
The cup is eh. The fingerbone is pointless now that Finale was nerfed. The set bonus is also not worth it

>Leper
Well, its everything a Leper needs, I suppose. Cant go wrong with it

>MAA
Its pretty solid. Can't see much wrong with it, especially with those Riposte buffs

>Memearab
I hope you like dark runs.
The sand vial is alright, a poorman's Demon Cauldron but
>that +15 dodge
Id suppose Id bring it if I were doing a dark run with marks

>PD
Not bad, its individual effects arent nearly as good as some of the other trinkets but there's so many buffs I dont see much wrong with the whole set

>Vestal
Eh.
They dont synergize well. I'd bring the beads for a 2nd position Vestal with Profane, and the Salicious with Junia's Head or the Scroll, but them together doesnt make much sense and the set bonus is nice but it doesnt fix that other trinkets work way better with them

What do you think?

This is coming from a veteran and I can attest that Madmen are one of the most annoying enemies in the game. That fucking dodge. A similar shitty monster are the Ghouls that howl. The new horror effect they added was totally unnecessary when the howl itself does like 10-20 stress damage to each character AoE and when you're unlucky they spam it three times in a row.

The absolute worst boss imo is Brigand Vvulf.

Did you know that skeleton monster mod on the workshop adds in a formation of 4 madmen to the ruins

...

Nope. I'm the user who went on hiatus for around 6 months after beating the main game 100% with no deaths. I don't think I'll mod anyways. Also on the GOG version.

Good Sets: MaA, Highwayman, Arbalest

Alright Sets: Bounty Hunter, Grave Robber

Meh Sets: Everybody else not listed.

Vial of Sand, Last Will and Testament, Sharpened Letter Opener, and Shameful Shroud are good trinkets.

>The absolute worst boss imo is Brigand Vvulf.
Whats wrong with Vvulf? Though I really dislike his gimmick I'm not sure I would say he is the worst.

Well who would you say is the worst?

Worst in terms of difficulty. I should've said hardest. His murder potential is ridiculously high.

just finished my first campaign. Am ready for a new one with the crimson curse.
Can we talk about the ending? What did you guys think of it?

They are gods amongst men.

Right now the Fanatic. I didn't like the Hag's gimmick and he is a supercharged version of that with more turns and the loot he gives isn't all that interesting. At least on the map where you fight Vvulf there are ancestor knapsacks.

I've yet to fight fanatic, Viscount, and countess. So I've got no opinions on them yet. I did see some YouTube vids and Viscount seems like a pushover.

Other than the croc the CC bosses are kinda underwhelming. RNG can make the Countess a joke if she stays in Flushed mode for a while.

Throwback to when 200 stress was instant death

>other than the croc

I should have been more clear. I meant all the bosses you fight in the Courtyard. The Fanatic will and can fuck your shit up.

>Unironically suggesting the use of holy orders

As for the sets
>Abom
Trinkets are meant to boost your human form while set bonus boost your beast form. I didn't like how it sounded at first but now that i found the chains and tried it i found it kinda neat actually. Kinda difficult to find a way to find a good lineup that will let you in rank 1 without using head slam however.

>Anti
2 of 3 seems interesting. The essence is ok-ish but i don't think i would use both together given how they don't really synergize with each other

>Arb's
Good trinkets individually but don't go together at all. It is either Bedtime story + Wrathful bandana or Childhood treasure + Medic Greaves. Set bonus is stupid

>BH
Quite possible the best set all-around (Individual Trinkets, Synergy between trinkets and set bonus)

>Crusader
ok set, but i'd rather use signed conscription + commander's orders in a semi-support build

>Flagellant
Good trinkets individually but set bonus is retarded, why do i want dodge on a flagellant

>GR
Letter opener is good, Absinthe has a retarded -20% max HP that makes the set not worth it even with the crt bonus

>Hellion
I actually find this one incredibly fun, turns hellion into a raw damage flagellant of sorts. Shame the set bonus is mediocre

>HWM
Really good if you feel like gambling with resolve tests

>Houndmaster
Tied with BH's and MaA's for best set

>Jester
Bright tambourine is better than the cup and any damage trinket is better than the fingerbone.

>Leper
Decent set all around. kinda questionable the -deathblow part tho

>MaA
Excellent, as said above

>Occ
Good for dark runs and pretty much nothing else

>PD
the set as a whole is underwhelming honestly, doesn't boost PD in the slightlest. However dissection kit + bloody herbs is nice

>Vestal
Pretty shite in all regards. The worst offense is that it does nothing for vestal's shit accuracy. Beads go well with profane scroll tho

>I meant all the bosses you fight in the Courtyard.
The statue is the worst. People don't even bother to talk about him.

How the fuck do I set a new default party setting while in the map?
