You and your friends are planning an epic road trip, taking you across the country and back (across Europe for you Eurofags) which will be done over the course of a week. This trip will include highway driving, mild/moderate off road treks through the desert and mountains, Touge runs, and a day or two at a race track.
The challenge? 1. You have a budget of $1500 for a vehicle and any needed repairs. ($2000 Aud, €1250, £1150).
2. You won't be staying in any hotels. Your chosen car is where you sleep.
3. You can't abandon the car. If it breaks down and you can't fix it on the side of the road, you're on the hook for towing and repair costs.
I've always wanted one of these Iaccoca era pieces of shit since I was little, and since they're probably littered in junkyards spare parts should be cheap and easy to come by.

Because of DAT CONVERSION RATE, i'm left with a little over 1,900 maple-syrup bucks to play with.
Thought I could find a sn95 GT for below $2k but here’s my choice
Acura CL coupe w/5 speed manual
Parker Peterson
>tfw will never do this with a couple of bros literally sounds like the most fun thing to do ever, would love to do one of those classic top gear challenge trips with bros and shitboxes from craigslist.
but that'll never happen ;__;

6 Years ago yesterday I brought my LTD project car. I flew out to Boise, ID and drove it home.
I got home and the very next day the belt tensioner shattered. A week later I realized the fuse had blown and I drove the entire way with no tail/brake lights.
Made the journey on bald radial tires from 1992, and drove until I began to literally hallucinate but god damn would I love to do it again.
Pic related... I had been on the road for an hour when I stopped for dinner. 1st pic I ever took of the car
Why? It was the first thing on craigslist in my area, it's under budget and it look like it won't fall apart.

Bring one friend and take a miata, sleep in cots or hammocks. The main reason for the miat is they are cheap, fun and there's pretty much documentation for every issue related to them

My first car was my grandma's 94' Buick Regal. Fucking loved that car. Drove it an hour and a half down to Houston to my dad's garage to get it up to snuff, found out I made the trip with my belt running on a fucking thread. Snapped pulling into the garage bay. Fucking perfect timing.
I couldn't do it. I am unable to find a single vehicle that it would be possible for a group to drive in and sleep in, that has passed inspection and that I would actually trust to drive my entire country and make it even the first few days
1500 cad is like 1000 usd. There's room for some fixes and shit in there.
Should be plenty of space to sleep, fixing it will be a bang with a wrench.

You dont understand - the whole budget would not be able to get me a car that is actually driveable and can fit a group
I could buy a Toyota HiAce for every single dollar and it would still have a list with stuff like failed brakes, non-functioning lights, oil leak, worn out ball joints and more. Its just impossible to find a car for that much in that size that is usable where I'm at
Had to stay a night longer because PO had put in a shitty HID kit that didn't work.Slept in it when my tent folded in a storm. That's my sleeping bag still drying.
Would roadtrip again. 8.5/10 comfy.
Easton Rodriguez
Actually a good idea. 3 row seating

I did this with my mates in a fiat diesel van 10/10 would recommend Plenty of space to sleep and do shit It seated o with bags... Comfortably I've hauled bikes with it, I've gone mountaineering with it... It finally died by a combination of cat and egr Is there something like an hybrid van with loadsa torks, space, and maybe awd?

Any Panther will do..

Do LeMons rules apply where I can use stuff that I already own?

You can get some exec vt’s to vy’s now for 2k

Shame they didn't have better engine options. The chrysler version was my first car.
Four wheel disc brakes, four wheel double wishbone suspension, 17x7 wheels. >150hp > Weighs like 3500 pounds
Joshua Harris
>tfw do this but alone
Gavin Morgan
Probably some old Toyota. Shit wouldn't break even if I wanted to.
