Are you ready for Apple-wielding soyboys to tell you "supercars are shit this tesla is faster lmao" every day of your life from now on?
It's going to be like with the Nissan GTR now but 500 times worse, because every normie on the planet with the most fleeting interest in cars knows about Tesla and electric cars in general unlike the GTR. Youtube comment sections are already full of "lmao RIP supercars this is faster lol only 0-60 times matter in a car hahah omg I'm so smart".
Your first mistake was looking at YouTube comments.
Samuel Sullivan
>implying I care about supercars
Jokes on you I could never afford one anyway!
Lucas Hill
I'd rather have an Aston Martin.
Charles Hall
I'd rather have a car that can rip laptimes and comes with a stick
Soyboys can have their 0-60. They won't understand pure joy and speed
Josiah Hall
I love science!
Xavier Perry
Pretty sure the only ones bitching about 0-60 are koenigsegg, bugatti, and tesla. Sad thing is they're still btfo by a couple of autists modifying cars that are doing plenty faster than 1.9 kek. Whats the point of 0-60 and top spend benchracing if any loon with the money can build something faster in their garage?
Eli Sanchez
I might take a trip to /diy/ and learn how to make a dignified noose to hang myself with when telsa comes out with a pickup truck. Liberals will tell me to just get one and stop destroying the environment. Fucking soy boy fuckers with daddy's money. i cant afford anything better than my truck if i ever want to make a down payment on a house
Elijah Foster
Congrats They can finally keep up with some madman in a 5spd audi
Reminder to report these shills, this same comment has been posted about 20 times now.
Dylan Clark
>take model S chassis >remove 2000lbs and put into shoddy chassis >tune it specifically for speed in short runs, would probably have a 50 mile range >wew soo fast brooooooo
Samuel Robinson
Does it even turn?
Robert Davis
>Reminder to report these shills, this same comment has been posted about 20 times now.
Carson Davis
>takes 5 seconds for him to even spool the turbo >Tesla just rolls on the throttle at any time
Matthew Wood
Everyone talks about the carbon footprint but does anyone think of the human footprint?
If every car becomes electric what will happen to the all the people across the world, 1st and 3rd world who rely on automotive manufacturing? What of all the jobs in the petroleum sector? Not just drilling and pumping oil, but pipelines, refineries, even distillation plants that refine petroleum.
Aiden Brown
It looks like that because 60fps.
Jackson Moore
more like >add 1000lb and a 3rd motor >double the battery size >has 1000km range now
the Middle East is going to blow up, for starters
Nathan Wilson
You absolute retard, the concept car they had on stage didn't have any of those things.
It's a fucking wish list that they'll hopefully have 75% of in 2030 when people start demanding they get their Roadsters
Dominic Ortiz
retard he didn't look at them for intelligent opinions it was to see what normies think
Joseph Campbell
>uh oh I made an ICEtard mad again
go huff 89 octane somewhere else
Zachary Hill
>$.02 has been deposited into your shill account!
Go back to r/teslamotors faggot
Brandon Hughes
I've made 6 cents since the reveal then, yay
Christian Morris
Nobody is thinking about the rare earth elements and compounds that go into these either. It's a bigger, brighter, better solution for a world that can not support any more of that. We can't support 7+ billion people living on this planet for more than a century and no amount of current or almost here technology can change that.
The real cars of the future will be fully carbon with a minimum of heavier metals used. They will be very small, you will wear them. The bodies will be sculpted for aero efficiency. They wont be full electric unless battery weights come down or hydrogen storage makes a breakthrough. Musk isn't selling a breakthrough, he is selling a car with polished electric retrofit kit.
Juan Scott
I now have a new dream car. I love Tesla.
Me too.
Jace Ward
Are you typing this from your iPhone X while sipping organic tea?
Xavier Ross
Why did the word soyboy seemingly replace cuck overnight?
It sounds so fucking gay and forced holy shit. I'm not a fan of everyone calling each other cucks either but soyboy is unironically the faggiest thing I've ever seen on this website in all these years.
Jaxon Butler
Pickle Rick!
Ian Taylor
You should see teslas that have been cut down to BIW. They're kinda hack and slash haha.
Xavier Russell
so why post a corvette then?
Tyler Ortiz
I'm just gonna take out my spark plugs and wire my starter motor into a foot pedel switch desu
Adam Reed
Humorous that you would omit the 8 other tracks where the Z06 crushed the GTR
Henry Scott
Why talk about a 10 year old car >GT2 RS ?
Anthony Lee
dude rick and morty XD
Matthew King
No it weighs like 60 billion tons because of batteries.
Jaxson Hernandez
No, I typed it from my S6, and my favorite beverage is coffee.
Oliver Bell
>tesla fagboy moving the goalposts
Caleb Long
What's BIW?
Lucas Turner
Does youtube comments affects your taste?
Jordan Campbell
Nobody wants to get yelled at for driving the car they want. The problem is internet echo chambers are allowing vitrol to build like crazy and it spills over into real life, often violently.
Tesla needs to get its fanbase under control, of we're going to see them egging ICE cars and getting praise for it.
Kayden Hughes
>t.Soyboy
Angel Green
>often violently Wow, didn't realize that it might be that tough where you people live.
William Bailey
You ever see how bad politics are getting, with protests causing serious injury on a regular basis? Since Europe went all "we're going to ban ICE forever!" electric cars are a political issue (and they really didn't have to be).
David Smith
>You ever see how bad politics are getting, with protests causing serious injury on a regular basis? No. Where? >Since Europe went all "we're going to ban ICE forever!" Europe isn't just France.
Hunter Sullivan
I really don't understand why Tesla fans have so much hate for ICE. Like deep-seated rage and boiling hatred for it. It's an old technology.
We all know that electric cars are the future. Autonomous ones too probably.
I drive a Hellcat but I still love Teslas. I have friends with Teslas, and I've written apps for their API. I bought the HC because things like that won't exist much longer, and I know that. The over-the-top theatrical driving experience of an old school muscle car, noise and all. In a few years, I'll enjoy a Tesla. And a while after that, I'll enjoy letting the car commute for me.
Is there any other example of a new technology where the fanbase constantly shit talks the old technology, ad nauseam? When blurays came out you didn't see people saying "HAHAHAH VHS USERS ON SUICIDE WATCH!!!"
I don't get the obsessive childishness of Tesla fans. It's a cool car. It represents the future. We get that. It almost feels like this is a manifestation of the highschool nerd vs jock drama. Sports and muscle cars are the jocks, and Teslas are the nerds. It feels like Tesla fans are the type of folks who never really had anything to get excited about. There was never a car that 'fit' their nerdy personality, so now that there is, they're coming out of the woodwork in droves and wearing the advancements of a car they'll *never* own as a badge of honor.
Lucas Allen
>a car they'll never own >"Honey, I took out a second mortgage on our house to buy this car. No, it's ELECTRIC"
Hudson Taylor
>In a few years, I'll enjoy a Tesla. And a while after that, I'll enjoy letting the car commute for me. Can I fuck your wife for you too?
Luis Bell
>Can I fuck your wife for you too? Yes, and I'll enjoy it.
Jose Bennett
Pretty sure your waifu wouldn't appreciate that.
Jace Anderson
Are self driving cars good or bad?
I guess on the upside if every dumb normie gets a self driving car, I don't have to worry about some drunk Stacey swerving into my lane because she was too busy texting and it writing off my pristine shitbox. On the downside, it could mean higher insurance costs for non-driverless cars, or an outright ban on them completely in the name of public safety.
Either way, I bet fully autonomous cars are going to take longer to be accepted than most people think. The problem of liability in the case of an accident isn't a simple one, and I can't see autonomous cars working any time soon in places that have bad weather and poor roads.
Angel Phillips
Kill yourself boi
Zachary Taylor
They're not going to be able to afford a house either, and they don't marry anymore.
Henry Myers
They're good if listening requirements change to reflect what technology is available. As long as we have tiers that keep idiots from driving less safe (but cheaper, lighter, faster, and more efficient) cars, I would welcome them. Unfortunately I guarantee that politicians are just going ban driving outright instead of trusting that a lot of people can actually handle it because they live in a bubble and everyone who talks about it talks about it as if its an inevitability.
Sebastian Johnson
>gen 1 roadster >baisically electric Elise >gen 2 roadster >baisically 2-seater model s I bet it'd handle like their truck does in comparison.
Luke Howard
>electric cars are a political issue (and they really didn't have to be). Citizens don't like their tax dollars thrown around.
Carson Murphy
Because ICE destroys the Earth moron. That's why Tesla fans (and any rational person with a brain) hate them.
Jack Ross
Good goy, here's your 0.05 shekels. Treat yourself to some tasty soy
Joseph Jackson
>Face it. Piston engines are a fad. Steam engines are superior in every way!
Luis Hernandez
I think a custom built chassis will have better driving dynamics than a retro fitted Lotus, although the original roadster is certainly a lot lighter than the Model S or 3.
Dominic Robinson
Body in white or BIW refers to the stage in automobile manufacturing in which a car body's sheet metal components have been welded together
Logan Roberts
Start thinking about environmentally friendly fuels if you are actually concerned about the environment. But I guess that supporting a trend for a new car industry is more fun. Companies like Tesla are relying on a hype that they are creating themselves. And I don't blame them. They are just taking the opportunity to make money. It's just that the time we are living in is getting annoying. People seem unable to think for themselves.
Bentley Johnson
are you just dumb or brainwashed
>even when being powered by a coal plant, EVs are cleaner than ICE >EVs can be powered by solar etc; "green fuels" cannot
the long tailpipe argument is literally the dumbest thing ever
Hunter Collins
Only if the steam engine powers a generator that powers the electric engine.
Your reply makes me think that you just looked at the picture.
Elijah Torres
A bike will still beat it, especially a non stock bike
> inb4 muh safety
Dylan Flores
>"start thinking about environmentally friendly fuels" yeah, I have, and they are stupid. Full electric is the future. None of this fuel cell / synthetic fuel nonsense
Angel Young
Please show me a build that does 0-60 under 2 seconds
Landon Parker
You can get a ''greener'' car than any of the brand new ''environmentally friendly'' ones for less than 10k.
Connor Williams
that's what you and the rest of the soyim are supposed to feel
Kevin Garcia
>black soot coming from nuclear cooling towers
let me just hook my car up to this NPP while it's going critical aww yeah
Owen Harris
People keep forgetting about the environmental damage caused by manufacturing the car, tire usage, etc. Personal motorized vehicle ownership is bad for the environment, full stop, and EVs are a shitty bandaid.
Sebastian Jenkins
it's going critical?!?!!?!? oh no! that's bad! Shut it down!
Robert Jackson
it's less bad. Nothing is "good" for the environment. Things can be "better" though, like EVs. The sooner we let the residence time of CO2 start it's 2000year gig without net positive addition of CO2 the better
Carson Richardson
You and all "MUH ENVIRONMENT" faggots can kill yourselves.
Isaac Hughes
It's just that this solution doesn't support any of the big industries and the big trend isn't actually about thinking for the environment. Unfortunately our society isn't guided by common sense.
Carson Collins
You do realize Chevy is shooting for sub 7 times right? They're gonna do it. Maybe not porsche levels because they're not porsche.
Xavier Martin
>There is only 60fps footage of new tesla vehichles. You act like 60fps footage is rare on youtube in 2017
Gavin Price
Honestly I prefer it. Less biting audibly, but still insulting. Cuck didn't roll off the tongue nearly as smoothly as faggot.
Jose Gray
The moon has a shitton of these rare earth elements.
Jacob Cruz
Vehicle emissions are a drop in the bucket of total emissions. I agree electric is better due to clean sources like nuclear being able to recharge it, thus allowing more petroleum to go into plastics etc, but to say internal combustion engines in cars do any significant damage is kinda dumb.
Aiden Ortiz
it will when EVs trickle into planes, trains, and most importantly boats. The 10 biggest boats put out as much pollution as like 8 gorillion cars
Brandon Reyes
It can't compete against a miata.
Jace Jenkins
>Nuclear reactors >Smog That's not how nuclear reactors work dude
Andrew Baker
There are extremely efficient clean ways to produce energy right now user. The Pacific Northwest is almost entirely powered on wind/hydro and nuclear is always a choice. Fusion also seems promising and could really propel us to being in a state of true environmental friendliness
Michael Brooks
>Thinks public sector technologies trickle into commercial industry Wew lad. Nothing ever starts out in the public sector and moves to industry. EV has already been tried in industry.
Also there is only an estimated 66,881,809 cubic feet of lithium on the planet. (2,976,240,539lbs or 1,488,120 tons of the stuff) That's 760 Olympic sized swimming pools for reference. If you had any idea what kind of battery setup would be required for transatlantic and pacific shipping you'd realize really quickly that is simply an impossibility on a global scale. Also shipping is making use of essentially waste products.
And the recycling process of lithium is extremely wasteful, in 100 years time we're going to be really hurting for lithium even if its useage is only at todays levels.
John Harris
>nuclear is always a choice No, it isn't.
Eli Johnson
We're already absurdly environmentally friendly you fucking retard. The North American continent is in better shape than it was when we came here.
Adam Reyes
stop being retarded
Samuel Campbell
Why not?
Alexander Hall
>We can't support 7+ billion people living on this planet for more than a century
You have no fucking clue what you're talking about. Malthus had no idea about the advancements in production - we're at what, almost 8 billion and people are STILL BUILDING NEW SETTLEMENTS ON EMPTY ASS LAND. There is a fuckload of land and even in many huge cities there are still single family homes.
There is no issue with overpopulation, that something believed by people who don't have a clue or (more disturbingly) people who have a vested interest in normies being too mad at each other to realize that a tiny minority of people are robbing them blind.
ALL of our problems can be solved by cooperation and efficient application of resources - unfortunately people with the resources have the power and people with power rarely relinquish it willingly.
Juan Bell
>The North American continent is in better shape than it was when we came here Where do you keep your nuclear waste? What about the fracking and oil spills?
Easton Green
Utility scale power is an order of magnitude more environmentally friendly than your internal combustion engine.
For example, combustion engine cars still produce sulfur emissions which cause acid rain. Utility coal hasn't produced sulfur in a decade due to the clean air act and smokestack enhancements.
Brandon Martin
>>What the fuck is the Internet >>Aerospace technology of all kinds >>Nuclear energy
Eat a bag of dicks, Republitard. Yeah, communism and socialism are fucking bad but government enterprise is about pooling the resources of an entire people forward where no obvious profit motive exists.
Maybe if you stop masturbating to conservative memes for a moment to be an actual person you'd realize that there's a middle ground between public and private enterprise.
Noah Long
Maybe all of you fucking bench-racing jack-offs will finally realize that 0-60, Hurdurgring laps, 1/4 times, etc. don't really fucking matter.
You enjoy driving a car because of the way it makes you feel and what it represents. The numbers aren't the end-all and be-all.
Dominic Lewis
>Utility coal hasn't produced sulfur in a decade due to the clean air act and smokestack enhancements. Government legislation cannot change the fact that coal has sulfur in it. You can say it's not getting into the atmosphere but if you're burning it and dumping it into the air, you sure as fuck are, even if the amount is tiny in comparison to before.
Alexander Anderson
>>What the fuck is the Internet Was used and developed in industry, learn your history retard. Not sure if you realize this, but the internet didn't even go mainstream until 10 years ago. >>Aerospace technology of all kinds Almost entirely developed in industry for industry. >>Nuclear energy I forgot about all those privately owned reactors before the big guys finally caught wind and started building entire plants.
David Johnson
Because people aren't supporting it.
Ryan Rivera
There is a fuckton of lithium and other raw elements in space. By the time we run out down here we'll be mining asteroids for it.
Xavier Barnes
The amount released is negligible, acid rain in towns next to coal plants has stopped altogether. Areas surrounding coal plants are well within the safe limits of sulfur emissions.
As I said, Utility scale is an ORDER OF MAGNITUDE more environmentally friendly than burning fossil fuels in your car. It is vastly cleaner to be running an electric car than a gas guzzler.
Jaxson Harris
In the age of robotics many people will lose their jobs, thats when we as humans have to take a look at humanity. Having a job is just something that we created as humans, its made up just like government. When their are less jobs than people we have to change how we live. Its possible to have a thriving civilization without jobs we just have to do it.
Blake Gutierrez
>What of all the jobs in the petroleum sector? Not just drilling and pumping oil, but pipelines, refineries, even distillation plants that refine petroleum.
What about all the people that used to be part of the horse carriage industry? People will find new jobs like always.
>In the age of robotics
We have been living in the age of robotics for well over 50 years.
