Also is it just me or when you play anything that isn't Occultist, are most of the scrolls completely useless or what? I get Darkbolt, Azathoth's Wrath, Mayhem, Paralyze, Fear, Teleport, Opening, Pestilence, Summon Creature and Light; but alongside those there are like 5 billion more types of scrolls that never do anything.

Snakes appearing out of thin air (and spitting at you in the same turn) also tends to happen at the worst moment, not a fan of that either.

IA lets you turn invisible and detect invisible creatures via potions... if you can get those instead of useless junk like Confusion or Blindness (I think there's no need to bother with chucking potions at single targets when you always get attacked by huge groups, and you have dynamites or molotovs).

I have MR+++ and STILL got abyss'd. This is the second good character in a row that I've lost because retards thought randomly sending characters to a difficult place with literal random exits was a good idea.
I thought MR was supposed to make you resist getting banished but I guess not.

You can examine monsters to see what their chance of banishing you is.
If it's higher than 5%, you should fight them as if they can banish you on any given turn.

Ogres take less experience to get a giant club to mindelay than merfolks take to get a bardiche to mindelay. With the higher base damage of the GC, and Og's better Strength and Fighting apt, the ogre is going to mitigate the difference between the skill bonus to damage/accuracy and the reaching bonus.

There are only a handful of things that can abyss you pre-rune, and half of them are distortion weapons that ignore MR.
I think Erolcha and Louise are the only uniques with banishment spell, and ogre mages, spooky deep elves, and some wizards will have it. Psyche and Sonja are the only uniques with a high chance of having a ditortionnweapon, but both of them are nullified by a wand of paralysis/confusion.

All dangerous monsters pre-lair can't wield weapons anyways, and the ones that can are weak as fuck or have shit MR.

All in all, if you get abyss'd it is almost certainly your fault.

lmao DCSS is easy up until post-lair. It's easy to get to lair as long as you aren't screwed over by RNG.

Not even him, but pre-lair DCSS is always the hardest part.

Everything after that is a complete and utter snoozefest.
