/indie/ - Indie Games General

Last Thread : >What the fuck is this
/indie/ is the general for all indie games, such as LISA, Yume Nikki, OFF, Middens, Underrail, OneShot, Rimworld, Age of Decadence, VA-11 HALL-A, Subnautica, Machinarium, DashBored, Vampire of the Sands, Braid, Limbo, Axiom Verge, Guacamelee, The Desolate Hope, Burrito Galaxy, Gone Home, Stardew Valley, etc. as well as other games that just don't fit in any other general such as Atelier, Rayman, Pillars Of Eternity, Rise Of Nations, and Valkyria Chronicles. Absorbed the /lite/ general some time ago.

Mobile or consoles, flash or unity, freeware or early access. This place is a home for the indie game community and indie and obscure games that don't have a home. So be free to talk and share all your hidden gems, forgotten games and starving devs here.

>Can I talk about games that already have a general?
We mostly discuss games that are not popular enough for their own threads (since they have no other home in Veeky Forums), however, all indie games are allowed. So talk about them if you want, but don't overdo it since you already have other generals for that.

>How can I contribute?
All we need right now is people to talk about their loved indie and miscellaneous games, so don't be afraid to post, bump and reply your fellow anons. Also we're looking for anons to make new pastebins/wikis/images and update the ones already made. And please give lots of feel, love, kind and nice to everyone, except namefags. And be sure to make a new thread if nobody else does.

So yeah, this happened.

Welcome back. Pokeporn poster will probably strike again soon.

So this is what happens when you don't release Grimoire.

>/lolg/ at top
why am I not surprised

That was bullying, plain and clear

Stop right there, /indie/.
Give me the best, most gory indie games or I'll kick your shit in.

...

...

I bought The Long Dark while it was on sale and I played an hour of it. Is the rest of the game that fucking boring or does it pick up?

I'm considering returning it.

It's the same "survive until you dominate the land of die" game. If you don't like it, don't bother with it.

There's this game called Scorn I heard about last year that's supposed to be coming out this year I think

WHEN'S
GRIMOIRE
?

...

What, you actually wanted to see some furry porn with that?

>
But Liru's game came out.

Has anyone here tried Subnautica on the xbone?

I'm curious how well it plays. I don't have a gayman pc right now and won't for awhile.

/indie/ will self-kevorkian

There was that gory 2D side scroller but I forgot its name
It didnt release yet

>tfw miners have made all good GPUs unattainable
This is the perfect time for 2D and low end indie games

This one?

>tfw been refreshing the old thread all night without scrolling up to see if it's dead
>again

Nobody expects the botspammer

In Subnautica, I read in a /v/ thread something about the Cyclops with Ion Power Cells recharging itself or something. What should I set up my Cyclops like? I just got it, and now I own all three vehicles. What's next?

Well that spamfucker really killed our momentum.

North, east, south, or west? Ordinals are also options, I guess.

Get ye flask

I don't know how to get ye flask.

Equip flask-getting glove.

Hollow Knight is a good game.

I will play the good game eventually. Let's mention other good games in the meantime.

How is Pathologic

9th

...

Best girl still.

Crystal from Nuclear Throne?

Yes

I like it but backtracking getting at me plus I hate the performance issues

Huh I have a shit computer and it works fine (Except for exactly one area that runs excruciatingly slow)

Trails in the Sky is real annoying in that I can't alt-tab while the slow ass combat animations are playing...

I can't save any goddamn time.

I should probably get out my phone to read shit while playing (or just stop playing...)

emulator masterrace

Hold that x button and just fastforward through everything.

Well, that would be nice, playing the Steam version though (as you probably knew).

I find that once I start fast forwarding in an emulated game I also subconsciously just stop caring about it and end up dropping the game in the middle.

The trick is as you suspected; play games that engage you to the point that you don't feel that alt-tabbing or fast forwarding is a necessity.

the danger is present, yes, but Trails in the Sky is rather resistant to that since
>it doesn't have voicing so fastforward doesn't fuck that up
>the nitty lore bits of the game is explicitly centered around talking to a LOT of NPCs, so if you read fast you can keep up with fastforward

It's not a game I would play on hard difficulty, but the fastforward helps me get everything out of the game.

Still a qt.

Cute.

Shit.

Downloaded Antihero after watching NL's video. It's a decent game but it's one of those games where the AI straight up cheats on the higher difficulty.

Mother Russia Bleeds?

A friend who played it for a long time told me it will get an update with a story mode soon.

It will probably run fine on the system and the controller layout should be an option on the pc version too if the dev is not completely retarded, which would make it easier to look up. Generalyl first person games work on controller with 2 analogue sticks but they are not ideal. Menus also can be a pain to navigate.

Trails borderless mode is weird since it pauses the game still on alttab.
Also protip: You can skip your s-craft animations and enemies s-craft animations by pressing B on an ms pad or whatever is your menu button.
And oh man does trails do a good job at that for me. Battle animations really are not that longwinded unless you don't skip s-crafts and only use the most long animation spells like the tornados.

You're meant to click the link, faggot.

>clicking links on Veeky Forums
lmao nice try 7331h4x0r

Is Rimworld hard to play if I'm a tard that can't into dorf fortress? I just couldn't handle those menus man.
Probably hotline miami

Where the heck do I get aerogel?

Rimworld is casual df. It takes a little getting used to, but you should be fine.

Actually, Rimworld is pretty easy, and can be considered as a nice introduction to other construction games.
It uses Dwarf Fortress' stockpile-based mechanism, but adds a few anti-frustration measures, such as allowing you to order pawns to do a job immediately, regardless what they want to do, conscripting people on the spot and ordering them directly, like in a RTS, and a simplified ressource system where you always know exactly how much food you have.

The worst part so far are organizing schedules, and the pawn's stupidity.

Just ask if you have any question, I'll be able to show off. I mean help.

You ever just accidentally wander into a reaper leviathan's territory? It's not a fun time.

>moonpool can recharge power cells as long as they're inside a vehicle
aw shit

>try to view camera from inside a scanner room
>get stuck trying to connect
i have been spoiled by games with autosave
end my life

Who?

What?

Why?

When?

Which gaaaaaaaaaaaa

Where?

Your power cells can charge based off heat if you get the thermal upgrade

Parking in the lava zone for long periods is still a bad idea because of the power drinking bugs

Subnautica, it's a game about fish.

I've reacquired my moonpool and scanning room, but I still need more fuggin copper for computer chips.

I'm sorry

Set up your scanner room to scan for limestone outcrops

Eventually you'll get a prawn suit with drill arm and want for nothing

The only thing I still need for a prawn suit is aerogel, not sure where to hunt it down. Just visited the mushroom caves, shit's pretty, got the water filtration system. Also turns out that the exploding fish will oneshot a reinforced seamoth, so that's kinda bullshit.

Forest fires with increased vegetation really burn for a while with no rain, but boy is it satisfying to hear giant spiders burning to death due to it.

The aftermath.

so many innocent lives

Poor Whale, I bet he had no idea how things would end up for him when deciding to participate in a raid on our colony. Oh well, it'll all be over soon - after all, the next and final stop for him is at the altar of the local death cult.

I have acquired a prawn suit. It sure doesn't like moving very much.

Time to bump threads and keep our lives exactly the same.

So what determines what you can select in a scanner room? Is it just all node types that have a node in range?

Addendum: I'm gonna have to make scanner rooms all over this dang ocean, aren't I

This background doesn't fit at all into the setting of the game.
The levels and backgrounds feel very super monkey ball though so maybe that was an idea origin.

>ded

What kind of homo thread is this? Where's the rimworld general? I feel like I've only been gone a couple of months, and when I left Rimworld still had a decently active general. Stardew Valley isn't popular enough for its own general? Whose idea was it to clusterfuck like 30 games into one thread? That will never work. It's too disorganized and there's no concrete discussion on any of the games here. Just random posts. This thread with all its games combined is more ded than the /rwg/ I remember. This is gay.

...

>Caves of Qud will never go on sale past 10%

Aerogel is made from mushroom spores i think, they look like ballsacs last i remember.

They are located near the engine of the aurora in a small ravine.
This was prior to the infection update though, so they might have moved.

At least it's never going on sale like Rimworld.

You just need one gel sack (they are ALL OVER the lost river, but also some in blood kelp zone) and then you can start farming them (not that you need a lot - that recipe is the only one in the game that uses aerogel so far)

I want to cum inside Lyla.

Yeah, I found some by the spooky kelp. Got some spooky kelp while I was there too. Prawn is slow as fuck whenever I'm not spidermaning and really loves getting stuck on random shit, but goddamn the mining drill solves shortages. Being able to punch sharks is also nice.

>spooky help
?

>There was one miniquest left that was just an enum placeholder, never implemented it. Always planned to but there was always something higher priority to work on. Implementing it now. Mother of all easter eggs, epic moment in the game, totally beyond the pale, like Michael J. Fox doing a complete barrel roll inside the tunnel on his skateboard at the end of BTTF 2. Must-have miniquest moment. This is the big Easter Egg I was planning for 23 years. Testing now.
Holy shit Cleve, you're the best.

Did he release it yet?

What do you think.

>believing in his obvious lies
You know, if he didn't word it like that, I might have believed this one.

Seriously, shilling your own game?

I don't think it'e ever going to be released.

I don't believe his lies, I just find them funny, that's why I posted it here.

Don't die /indie/.
