Sometimes he's no stronger than a perfect, other times he's an extremely powerful ultimate.

Sometimes V-mon follows the evolution route of Fladramon (adult) > Lighdramon (perfect) > Magnamon (ultimate)

Usually if he goes this way, Magnamon is powerful as fuck. Though golden Armor evolution is still viable for him to be strong. It all just depends on how tough they want him to be.

I go down a few minutes into the second fight. Since the boss always gets at least 3 turns, he'll buff himself a shitton, lower my team's DEF and then mops my team up with an AoE. I hardly get time to act even with speed boost

he's locked because he doesn't have enough ABI, you need to de and re digivolve him
and the second fight essentially needs you to pick off his hands first since they're the main source of buffs, they don't die but they "turn off" for a while
and if all else fails there's no shame in going down to normal, bosses getting a gorillion turns isn't really fun if you're not super prepared

Just get someone like Ulforce or AeroVeedramon to give you an instant turn, get a Lilithmon for that amazing piercing damage, and get a Mastemon for its main attack that knocks off 25% of its current health. Personally I wouldn't be using Etemon, Diaboromon, and PrinceMamemon for regular fights but that's just me. Give everyone Speed Charge Field, give everyone the ability to cast Safety Barrier, and you have almost every single Great Challenge, Demon Lord, and difficult fight done on Hard. You should probably lead with Ulforce/AeroVeedramon, WarGreymon, and either Plesiomon or MarineAngemon, get your Veedramon to use SCF, get WarGreymon and your third to use Safety Guard on Veedramon (Due to speed) and whoever else, and then it's just a game of keeping up Safety Barrier and SCF.

Ideally you should just keep trying the Great Challenges or Seven Demon Lords because those prepare you for any difficult battle really since they're the hardest ones. If you're having trouble with Ulforce just stick Venom Trap on AeroVeedramon, have Mastemon use its 25% attack, and then just pray Ulforce dies from poison.
