I mean it depends on if its actually going to be worth anything. If its anything like their previous games, its going to be basically dead on arrival.

But unless it has content rivaling that of osrs/rs3, its not going to warrant its own general. I'd say people wait a few months to see how development goes. Chronicles looked pretty promising until everyone left and development stopped out of nowhere.

Darkscape general happened because autists got really pissy about darkscape being in the main general so some people made one, then Darkscape practically died so the general died too but oh well.

Runescape "Remastered" is supposedly going to be announced next week Rumors that it's a version of RS in a modern engine (no grid, no tick system, etc.)

It's just going to be another attempt at re-branding like with RS3. They'll throw some shit together to make things look a little different and call it a new game. We'll probably hardly notice that anything has changed on its "release" day.

When has Jagex ever made an intelligent decision?
When they came up with the idea to do a Remastered MMO they were probably balls deep in NXT dev and didn't want to pull the plug on it.

Also I'm very wary of the tablet/mobile support. I don't see an MMO being fun or engaging if it's made with a touch screen control system in mind.

They seem pretty confident that it'll exist alongside RS3/OSRS but I'm pretty worried. I've had the same account for 12 years and if he gets designated to some decrepit RSC-like server I'll be pissed.

I think in Jagex's eternal quest to be Blizzard, they'd rather make one "China Friendly No Ideas Allowed" client and one "Client for Real Countries" rest of the world client where they can still do whatever they want.

What I meant was that it seems pointless to me if they made a game SOLELY aimed for the gooks and proceeded to [attempt to] create hype on western medias

technically if it was a fresh start and a fresh game, it would be marketed to new players as well as old ones. Especially with offline skill leveling or w/e lessening the grind that puts most people off of it.

I don't know if this is a meme post or not but this path would actually be pretty smart. Since Runescape is played so differently from modern WoW-type MMOs they could make a MMO like this and not have to compete with themselves like Everquest did/does.
