TEMPTATION GROWS WITH EACH BLOW

And now there's also the chance of random hallway spawn fights on those halls you already cleared.

I surely didn't expect that

I'm thinking Occultist, Arbalest, Houndmaster, Bounty Hunter for Champion Swine God. I think this is a good team but will it survive the way there?

repostan from last thread:

Are there any actually good/balanced class mods that are compatible with the DLC? I haven't played this game in over a year, I just bought the DLC and reinstalled it and I'm planning on starting a run this evening, some of the class mods look neat but I don't want anything retarded or broken

yes, make sure you mark and nuke down the skivers before they obliterate your backline

That's a solid team for getting there and marking and killing the piggu.

New to the game, like 3 hours in. How to git gud enough that I don't need a vestal on every team? Is occultist reliable enough to replace a vestal?

What do you guys think about this ability for a new support hero:

Heals target to 100%, but that character will receive more damage, e.g. 20% more, until the end of the quest.

Question: is Ancestor supposed to be your uncle or so? Doesn't seem like he would be your direct ancestor given shit he did and you not knowing about it.

How do I balance leveling new heroes and beefing up my old boys?

Won't I eventually hit a point where all areas are level 3 or so and levelling recruits from 0 is nigh impossible?

You can always retreat and abandon quests, try it out for yourself. Not having a healer Vestal gives you a slot for control or damage. But I do like having someone who can get people off death's door though. Generally an Occultist is fine.

The game will still throw noob missions at you.

#blessed

Even if an area is level 3 you will still lvl 1 quests. It's not a problem.

REMIND YOURSELF

The game will still give you low level dungeons, but you should really consider upgrading your stagecoach so that you get leveled recruits.

Sounds like I lucked out taking all champ bosses before elite enemies were added?

all the champ enemies except the spoopy ghost in the cove can utterly ruin your run

If abom is so disgusting to church, why he can use abbey? That's occultist is okay to vestal and crusader level of 'red hood don't gibe a fug'.

Alright, I'm at a complete loss at this point: how do you add +resistances (bleed, blight, etc) to a skill? I'm trying to create a party buff (think Bolster or Battle Ballad) that gives resistance to stun and move effects and nothing works. No guide specifies how to do this and copying skills like Solemnity or Flare isn't working as intended and just giving me those buffs on this new ability.

This Acolyte of the Sun class is really cool.

Probably OP though.

Why are Zoltan and what appears to be Gwyndolin in your party?

The religious restriction thing was poorly implemented because the autistic furfag backer wanted it that way, which added an unnecessary layer of complexity that would've been to complicated to implement fully. If anything, the hellion should also be faithless by default, since she literally has a camping skill to reject the gods, thus shouldn't be able to pray or flagellate at the abbey. Religious heroes also don't have an issue with her beyond getting slightly stressed at her blasphemy, in a setting based off an era where you could be arrested and tortured by the church for such acts. Neither do they have a problem with the occultist summoning tentacles from the abyss and using dark rituals to their benefit

Should I do it? I'm not sure which party should I use.

These are my only champs on the list.

Glittering gold, trinkets and baubles...

vestal pd flag leper

Equip your best dodge and prot trinkets and try to wait out the shrieker. Have your vestal and pd constantly healing and purging bleeds, the flag using suffer, reclaim or redeem, and the leper using intimidate on the shrieker, hitting the nest or self healing

I'm new as well and there was a vestal or occultist every week in the stage coach. Then either PD, grave robbers, or man at arms every other week.

The team absolutely shat on Swine God, easier than the Hag. Fucking Wilbur put up more resistance. Had some minor panic moments on the way there though.

>using custom classes

What's the best trinket between martyrs seal(wize hag) or holy orders (inchoate flesh)

I dont have the dlc but the seal seems like it would be best on flag

Standalone musketeer is the only decent custom class

Maybe? he may just be some distant relative with no children, finding out about you from a family tree

Also, the kind of shit the ancestor did was mostly unknown to the people (until shit got out of control), anything else may just fall under "extravagances"

Occ's actually worst at the beginning, when your mooks can't auto-resist the bleed and you probably don't have trinkets to really make him shine. I've always used Occ as a mainhealer, with much better auxiliary utility than the other healers, on champ runs.

>RH: So... you actually did it, what kind of class do you want? we can work something out
>I want a furry werewolf, AWOOO!
>RH: Well... how about a turnskin? hated for his condition, and have him in the Hamlet looking for the comradery he's been denied?
>Fine as long as he's a furry werewolf
>RH: Well, that went well
>Oh! and make him hate religion as much as I do, my fursona does not obey to some phony god *tips fedora*
This is how it probably went

A thing I've been wondering about the plot. Are all heroes supposed to be heirs to the ancestor? Or is the player an actual entity in the form of omnipresent nameless/faceless xcom type commander.

It's ambiguous as to how the ancestor and heir are related, and with the time loop theory it's even more confusing as to who exactly the ancestor and heir are.

Either way, the populace somehow found out about the ancestor's heretical doings and tried to go pitchforks and torches on him. That's when he hired the bandits to terrorize them and make them shut up, allowing him to continue his mad experiments and excavation unopposed and undisturbed until his breakdown and suicide.

The hamlet's citizens probably don't even dare to look in the estate's general direction after all the shit that happened there.

the player is his own thing, some noble dude who leads from the background (you can only see it as a shadow in the caravan in the starting cutscene)

the heroes are just there looking for gold, glory and redemption

pleb

How should I balance improving my heroes at the guild/blacksmith? Which is more important? Around what level does it become worth it to start beefing up their moves and weapons/armor?

upgrade the gypsy for sun rings

lvl 4 weapons suck

The irony is that the abomination doesn't oppose the not!christianity religion like the hellion does. The religious heroes will say that they do not wish to travel with that... thing, and the abomination will lament that those of faith will not tolerate one with his condition when trying to add him to a party with a religious hero.

It sounds more likely for the backer to be projecting his victim complex onto his self insert, that conservative folk (religious heroes) look down upon his furfaggotry (abomination's condition)

Martyr Seal sucks. Grab the Crusader trinket.

Hellion doesn't "oppose" the notchristianity, she just has another religion, namely notpaganism. Her virtuous and afflicted barks always speak of ancerstors and weirdly-named deities

gonna be interesting to see how they do the changes with quirks

Leper, Vestal, Flagellant and Crusader all start with god fearing now?

would faithless and god fearing always replace each other? would having god fearing make the vestal camp buffs stronger on the character?

those negative quirks might be worth keeping depending on your team comps if its like that

don't fall for the deathblow resist meme, you will just lose the guy on the first hit

It stresses out the religious heroes even more though

Also, the thing I just thought to myself - maybe letter Narratoancestor've sent is some kind of brain poison - normal people would ignore such nocturnal shit, but successor literally go on trip to save some forgotten swadowrumored manor and start to hearing the voice of his dead ancestor even before he arrives at hamlet. Maybe he was 'poisoned' by letter.

it's the christcucks that oppose abofriends, not the other way around

Fucking hate huge backtracking levels like this.

Some people are just obsessed.

ugly GR

that's what I said, the backer made it such that it's the biblethumpers being portrayed as the bigoted oppressors who branded the abom and refuse to travel with him, attempting to put him in a sympathetic light

So GOG (fucking finally) got the latest update, does anyone know if the fanatic can show up on these non-boss courtyard missions? Or am I cool to bring 4 vamps to it on high infestation just to mitigate more diseases?

What are some custom classes that
>are balanced (not OP, not shit)
>Are well designed (Have an actual role instead of a mishmash of skills and play in a unique way instead of being X hero with changed numbers)
>Actually feel like they belong in the DD universe

Pretty sure the Fanatic stays away from the Courtyard, period.

Ronin
Musketeers
Vampire
Trapper

pit fighter and musketeer?

Yeah I hope he redoes the face.

Is that GR meant to be Ves?

Yeah

Well she just fucking died so I hope you're happy.

No that user, but I'm always happy to be joined in suffering. Welcome to our own, personal little corner of the Netherrealm!

How do you die with a tank and healer and three stuns?

Shankers gangbanged her, died to bleed before I could heal.

>first champion mission
>level 5 heroes all ready
>good trinkets
>packed inventory with food, torches, tools, etc.
>first battle
>crit crit crit crit
>2 on death's door
>need to retreat already

l-lewd

Occ-GR-HWM-MaA good enough for champ shrieker? Just looking to kill the nest and pray that I dodge enough to survive the 4 rounds.

i got through champ shrieker with Occ-GR-GR-MaA

lunge is better than anything the HWM has because he shuffles the nest around, but you should be fine

im so scared of that fuck i plan on taking MAA+MAA+Vestal+Vestal and turtle

What is the name of the effect that gives a temporary buff to stun resistance when you are successfully stunned? I've been combing over the base.effects file and haven't had any luck finding it so far.

>that party order
>no single-target heal

hope you like pecks

Our main weapon is surprise, surprise and fear- Our two weapons are

im just listing the units, obviously i want the girls in the back to heal peck

It isn't uncommon for champion level runs to instantly shit on you.

Sure, if you can handle your super squishy guys well.

>Getting assfucked by bloodcurse and fanatic
>Commit myself 100% to killing baron
>Kill baron
>No more having to deal with blood aids and pireman
>Have fun again doing different missions
>5 weeks later blood aids in literally every mission again

Crimson court was a mistake.

weeks later blood aids in literally every mission again
damn, took like 10+ missions to get started on mine

blood isn't an issue anymore since the vintners was fixed, the droprates of blood increased and a mission to collect blood was added

enjoy going through it again once you kill the viscount

>first room
FUGG

I'm doing Champ Shrieker with this comp...first time...hope I make it...

You should be fine. Keep us updated you brave soul!

>another level 6 flagellant dies on the first death's door check

Champion pounder run. Wish me luck lads!

i don't even bother taking many curio supplies on medium missions since i end up with a full inventory half the time

Ur fucking dead kiddo

That was surprisingly easy. I even got back a trinket that I lost because a hero died, didn't know that could happen but I'll take it!

see you in 3 hours

I avoid that fucking fight for as long as possible. Post updates.

did you get any special quirk?

Wasn't his original idea for a Werewolf though? So I wonder if the idea of a restriction came before or after Red Hook told him a giant naked goat dude worked better. I can't have any idea what a restriction from going with a Werewolf would even be about, except maybe the Houndmaster.

Honestly the Abomination as a whole fascinates me because Red Hook managed to salvage 5k and a bit of their intergrity working with an apparently unhinged guy who has an obsession with Werewolves.

>double suppressing fire the swine skiver
>he triple crits my backline anyway

Are hit chance strats just a /dadg/ meme?

They could be okay, but I wouldn't do it when such a high threat target is alive.

Everything other than "kill everything as fast as possible" is meme.

>16 torches
What ARE you doing?!

Would it be okay to take two level threes and two levels twos in The Warrens for a short apprentice quest? Also what level should my guys be for long veteran quests in the Ruins?

>level threes
>apprentice quest
?

It's in The Warrens though

Level 3s won't do Apprentice missions.

So far so good.
