discuss dirt bikes.

what displacement should no bikes look for?
I like ujm's and dualsport's

Yay dirt rockets

Going for a ride on an old dirt bike this weekend, I hope I don't break down miles away from anywhere.

wr125

>ujm
900 or greater
>dual sport
400 or greater unless WR250R

250 ujm maximum fun

god i miss cross country racing on my MX-200

sucks being poor

>900cc+
I don't want to crash into a road sign my first ride out senpai

As in the chinese pit bikes?
did the frame snap or something?

Dumping the past week of trail exploring.

That only happens with 1300+

...

...

that could happen on a 250

just don't go faster than what you're comfortable with

nah the early 80's yamaha 2 stroke

...

...

you gotta take pics from different angle bruh

>tfw riding in socks not shoes

...

What's the best cheap (~$2000) trail riding dual sport?

KLR250? XT250/350?

I'll keep it in mind.

My old XT350 had close to 30hp where as a 250 has about 20hp or so.

Almost anything Yamaha or Kawasaki you can find that's a dual sport will be amazing. Just make sure you read the owner's manual and go learn about different offroad tire variations. You don't want too knobby a tire if you hit the trails once a month and drive on the street the rest of the time, and you don't want an 80/20 or 70/30 if you plan on eating up any rocks or loose gravel. honestly I'd suggest owning two pairs unless you can get away with 50/50s like I do, but you'll either have to avoid a shitload of situations because your tire might not dig, or learn to deal with it.

This picture is gold

Thanks

I'm trying so hard to get a 125cc (Yuro) dirtbike (with a headlamp) and its fucking impossible.

Bikes are so hard to get around here.

FUCK

A proper 250 has around 40hp

ktm 125 exc, stop being poor.

Oops fixed

Thanks, mainly going to be riding on dirt trails and between said trails.

Plenty of XTs and KLRs around here for ~2K so that's great.

look for a kdx200.

...

>kdx200
Not street legal though, can't travel legally on the roads between the trails.

>using road transportation for intense offroad riding

are you retarded?

is your state a bunch of nazis about plating dirtbikes?

yes

You cannot use dual sport kits on a dirt bike. It is literally 100% illegal.

doesn't someone on dbt have a plated kdx200?

Tfw new tires just came in.

What do you guys have in the mail?

Some states allow it. Others dont

Do not buy a KLR

in the context of the conversation was referring to my state, in some states it is completely legal to use a dual sport kit and plate a dirt bike

An air filter. I accidentally clicked 1 touch buy on amazon without realizing it was being shipped from china.
Oh well

why

12k service stuff for my Tiger since I'm well overdue for it

Also Bilsteins for my XJ

>Dirt Bike Thread
Yay!

Do you guyse go on nighttime missions up on the mountains? :3

t. Nighttime missions up on the mountains goer.

Fleece leggings, turn signal bulbs, and plugfones. In two different packages paid extra for 1 day shipping, both somehow got held up and now I gotta wait until Friday

ugh, i wanna sniff those. sell them?

>new
>already scuffed to shit
You're doing it wrong

You can plate damn near anything over 200cc as a non resident in South Dakota. You don't need a PO box or anything like that, use your addy. Bunch of the guy I ride with have done it ( myself included ) here from one of the biggest commie states there is Kalifornia. After you get 7500 miles on it ( cough Vapor, set the mileage cough ) you can transfer it into Kali through the loophole they left in the law when there was 49/50 state emissions.

I think a Kawasaki mechanic slept with an engineer's wife

Engineers have to be the most retarded people I've ever met

12hp TW200 master race.

Although i've been looking for an XT350 for the longest time to build into a TW350.

Here's my piece of shit bike

>CX500

Nice, but fix that fucking headlight.

Also how's the stator?

>tfw still no FZ-07
One of the most highly regarded and sexiest bikes I've seen yet.

I rode mine today

I rode your dad today

there's bunch of ebay shit on it from the previous owner, the wiring harness is a fucking nightmare

stator is probably on its way out if its like anything else on it. it seems to charge alright for now, but it just needs to last long enough for me to afford a decent new bike. it was cheap and already looked like garbage so I don't feel bad when I drop it while I'm leanring.

Wouldn't surprise me

don't listen to him, KLR's are awesome bikes

Stators were always an extremely weak point on those, and honestly, you should keep it and fix it up.

They're fucking great bikes.

I haven’t put the new one on yet mate.
All my local mechanics are on thanksgiving break.

Post pics

Too bad it doesn't come in Yamaha blue.

ayyy what's up nevadabro

'suh dude
Vegas?

I dont post my bikes here. But i got this blue.

yeah south west

Too close for comfort, I'm in spring valley. What do you ride man?

Learned how to ride on an XT250 funny enough. Kinda regret not getting something more off road capable.

Doesn't stop us from riding together, though I might have trouble keeping up on this 225. Let's ride up to mt charleston or something sometime.

>mountains

Maybe if I had company or cell service. Bad idea either way in my opinion.

I hope you mean staying on the road.

Is it still ok if I send you noods? ;_;

It's nice to know that these will be $2,000 beginner bikes in my lifetime.

Plz reply.

If you know how to ride a motorcycle you can ride anything that doesn't have a quarter turn throttle and assloads of torque right in your face off idle

wtf are these?

theres 2 on each side and they have 6mm nuts in them really tight, are they for emptying the shock oil or something?

Mounting bosses for fender or brake caliper brackets

That's where you attach your mudguard bro you'll need to remove the bolts first though

you 100% sure?

cuz there was nothing on them when i bought the bike

brakes are attached way lower and fender is attached to the triple clamp thingy
