Fyrstr for Brough Superior SS100

The toe box for my new boots is massive, I'm having difficulty flicking the gear lever up. Should I just get used to it or move the lever up?

Is it a difficult thing to do?

Anyone in Vic done their full licence test recently?
I've got mine booked in and I emailed the guys to ask what we're tested on so I could practice. The cunts wouldn't tell me, instead saying I should spend an extra $150 on a lesson before the test. Greedy bloody Jews.
I'm assuming it'll just be some normal on road riding, but I've been practicing tight uturns just in case.

Typically, adjusting the linkage isn't terribly difficult. Depends on the manufacturer I guess.

My new baby should be here around March/April, here's hoping. They said it normally runs late as hell for first flights.

How much did you pay? Do you reckon it's a good first bike? That's a great shot, where are you there?

I financed with 50% interest because I was desperate . $110 down payment.

It is a terrible first bike because it's too fast for me

I haven't been to a track yet, always wanted to but there isn't many near me (Bremerton) and I'm a submariner, so free time isn't abundant. Definitely want to though, I have a measly Monster 696 at the moment, but would like to see what it is capable of.

It was about 18 months ago, but I elected to do the new GLS test even though I didn't have to, so it should be the same. I didn't get lessons though.

The new test is ridiculously easy - just a ride around the block. No low speed manoeuvres or anything. You'll pull over every couple of minutes for the next set of directions so make sure you can stop and park the bike properly. Constant head checks are an absolute priority.

post something you think makes you look cool

Nice sped up footage

Hey that's not you, it's me!

I paid, as I recall, $5400 out the door... List price + destination + tax and license + no doc or setup - $400 in "buyer cash" promotion., I think.

Yes it would be good for a newb. The anti-lock brakes will prevent one of the two most popular newbie crashes. The only thing it really needs is new brake pads (the stockers suck, EBC were good and Vesrah are so good it's unreal)

>record footage to make webms to impress anonymous autists on a white supremacist hatespeech hacking website
>wrap yourself round a tree and die because u dont obey traffic laws

Found the invoice. List was 4999, $500 was "customer cash", he took that and applied it to the list price to reduce the sales tax. I see he got me for $1 in doing so.

The motorcycle that killed at least one faggot

Cheers mate. I didn't think it'd be hard, me and my mate aced the check ride. The instructor was pretty happy with us.
I'm just worried about curve balls, I can't really afford to fail. I'm pretty happy with my riding ability as a learner though.

His death did inspire the research that lead to the development of motorcycle helmets.

Yeah well that's why I chose to do the new test. The old test was u-turns, e-braking and slow speed counter-steering in the off-road closed circuit. If you can do the check ride, then you'll ace the test. The insistence for you pay for a lesson is a super dick move in their part - lessons weren't even discussed when I did it.

Poor brakes, india-rubber tyres, friction dampers front and back. And 52 HP, 100MPH+ top speed

Its changed since i did mine, mates have done it though and it is just general riding around town and stuff. When i did it was justcriding around on an airstrip for like 4 hours.

>financed with 50% interest
holy fuck lmao

How much ass pain is normal after 3 hours riding with a 3 hour break in the middle? My tail bone hurt so much when I stood up finally

I'm interested in picking up a godbike soon. Anything I should know? Specifically looking at naked 2nd gens with ABS.
>changing spark plugs looks like hell
>apparently big end bearings fail if you aren't careful with oil
>are there any injection glitches or ABS problems?
>any other mods I should do to increase reliability before I start piling on the miles?

the fz6s looks like an extremely practical bike but the lack of torque rules it out as a streetbike.

try getting an arse.
i bet yours looks like an old mans.
Everyone is always so worried about skipping leg day but no one does arse day, plus girls like it too.

Are you one of those people who is scared to rev a bike past 3k rpm?

I'm 200 pounds my butt is thick

Maybe thats the problem, riding around with an extra 60 pounds of lard on your body that is pulling you into the seat.

Well I mean 200 pounds at 6 feet isn't THAT big

;-;

I rode 3.5 hours on my CB400 in one go when I first got my licence. I didn't have any pain, but when I got home I feel asleep on the couch straight away. I was exhausted.

...

Its your seat uleh, it is shit.

I should add that I'm 190cm and 75kg

cb400 has a comfy banana seat.

sorry was working the whole day
hope you still lurk

>bike is dirty again
fucking streets in winter

Not at all, why?

I have a trackbike already I just need a good streetbike.

I'm at 72kg (144ish) at 181cm and still trying to ditch a good 5kg or so. Get off the burgers, user.

>go on social ride
>they are all slow as fuck
>overtake
>lose them

Post bike with alcohol

Because you say an fz6 does not have enough torque to be a street bike when it has 5 less Nm than the sv650 but makes 25 more hp.

You're a fucking toothpick. I am 5'11 (1.8) and 160lbs, you can see my chest plate bone coming through my skin

you should honestly gain 15 or 20 pounds

either your numbers are wrong or you're an asparagus
t. 70/174

Nice osg stuff.
What bike is that?

umm you are hungry skeletor m8, you want to weigh as much as me and im a manlet.
would be able to see every fucking bone in your spine if you dropped 5kg, maybe gain 5kg.

t. fz6 owner

have you ridden both bikes? unless you regularly exit suburban roundabouts and carparks at 12,000 rpm, the sv650 shits all over the fz6.

You win this round but im changing it back again next chance i get squid.

I'm 5'11 and 145lbs and can squat 330lbs. Can probably lift up my bike if it topples over.

I have ridden both bikes, the fz6 is much nicer in every way possible.
but get a learner bike, what do i care?

if you really want torque get a fz07 or a street triple.

literally who can't lift a bike if it falls over? are you memeing?

>probably
wow whoah watch out for the badass here

Nobody cares lanklet

>5'11
>lanklet
?

He means to say he wears heels to compensate.

At 6500 rpm, where thousands more bikes will actually be used, the sv650 is making 40% more power than the fz6.

>fz07 has a cancerous P twin and bad injection
>street triple has shit-tier euro unreliability

Those who don't lift brah and have a fat bike.

you're a skinny faggot

i dont drink anymore how about some pot brownies?

I was about to say ptwins fucking suck i will take a vtwin any day over one

Whatever uleh, you sound like a fucking idiot.

Not even close. The fz6 has real horsepower and a higher top speed. Yes I've tested it personally.

They're both slow bikes. The SV has usable power though. Top speed is like 130 vs 140mph lol. I will say the FZ build quality is better but you pay for it.

>ad hominem

Who in the fucking world gives a SHIT about top speed. Christ almighty what an obnoxious idea. Like unless it's 50 mph or something and you can't get on the interstate, there's never been a more irrelevant statistic than top speed. Fucking kill yourself to be honest. user comes on here asking about changing spark plugs on an sv650 and you start quoting top speeds like some kind of poorly socialised savant. Nigga these are like naked street bikes, get the fuck out of here and go benchrace literbikes or something. Bye.

>>ad hominem
Ah I see you're a man of culture as well

*tips trilby your way my good sir*

Top speed on a naked is meaningless you're gonna feel like someone is trying to rip your head off past 110mph. Nakeds are for gooning around town. The SV has good torque plus close gearing so its really fun under 100mph

I'll probably be riding for about 10-12 hours tomorrow, at least an hour or two will be dirt and I'm 51. It get's better the more hours you spend on the bike. there is also the possibility your seat just sucks. I can only spend about 6 to 8 hours on the stock seat on my WR450 and I'm done for the day, a seat concepts seat would make that all go away.

>tfw 185cm or 6'1 and only 58kg

holy shit dude thats super skinny are you okay?

I weighed 180lb when I got my first bike last year and now I weigh 165lb, what sorcery is this I haven't even changed what I normally eat.

yeah im fine.

i eat normal.

>2017
>people still don't understand that gears multiply torque and that a bike with less torque can pull harder and accelerate faster than a bike with more, but poorly utilized torque

The FZ6 shits all over the SV650.

>do a track day with me

Sure if you come to VA.

u bought a girls bike, wr125 (female) and so ur body is adjusting to your new feminie body

>almost 2018
>vehicles are still being manufactured with powerbands wider than 500 rpm

it's almost like having to change three gears and scream the engine to get anywhere is unrewarding and impractical!

Guy is selling a motorcycle for a pretty good deal but the title is non transferable. I don't really know anything about titles, should I stay away from this?

feminine body
feminine bike
rly makes u think tbqh

what does that even mean? a title can't be non-transferable. or does he not have it?

It's more like you DON'T change gears and you're fine, you have like 15,000 revvy things to use.

"usable power" means you can short shift like a dumbass and still get good butt dyno feels when you go WOT.

the FZ6's powerband is 5000RPM wide and everything under that is still faster than most cars

I love how they hid the headlights inside the front cowl unlike the r1

Is that so you get even less illumination in corners?

I miss old sportbikes with a big lens up front and two headlights on at the same time for the low beam. They turned night into comfy orange day and probably blinded oncoming traffic.

Actually look at the gearing charts this guy posted up:
To get any meaningful acceleration out of the fz6 at sub 60 mph you basically have to be in first gear. Keep in mind it doesn't start out powering the sv650 until 9000 rpm onwards.

So the fz6 only has an advantage over 40 mph, in first gear, from 9000-12000 rpm.

How many times do you enter that condition in general street riding? Or are you an interstate straight line hero.

It means he has a title and on the title it says "non transferable"

I've never heard of that. Why would a title be nontransferable

it's not salvage or something?

Like seriously can you imagine exiting a suburban roundabout at like 30 mph and smashing down like three gears and pinning that throttle with like clenched teeth and REEEEEEEEEEEE!

While the sv650 rider is in like third gear comfortably powering away with a nice sounding engine

How often do your races end at 40mph? When you are racing, when do you drop below 40mph? And how often do you take last place?

Seriously man, what you are talking about here is racing the bike. Tire-spinning acceleration out of corners in a contest against other bikes.

If you're going to talk about riding it like a racebike I don't see the issue if it's a smooth riding commuter below race speeds.

thats what the pass button is for now buddy

the foreign?

Well that's a lie, if that were true i would have always had to be at 9000-13,000rpm on my cb400 which was less powerful but that simply wasnt the case.
thing could cruise around town at 3krpm fine and you didnt have to change down gears for highway pulls, maybe to 5th if you actually wanted to get over 180km/h but big deal.

so please tell me how the fz6 which is more powerful at every point on the table is going to be useless to ride below 9k rpm...?

your bench racing is showing btw.

That was my first post in the thread, I didn't feel like going to the beginning. Anyway I like top speed because it's fun to go fast and I regularly hot the top speed. Sorry you're a pussy that puts around town, maybe a grom and a game of lazer tag might be a little more your speed.

the pass button is that yellow trigger on the left side. hold it down and it turns on the high beams, when ever i would start leaning to an angle where i cant see with the low beams id hit the trigger.

or just ride with my high beams on if there wasn't any on coming traffic.

...

alright 2smoke lads, I just got one of these and the only oils I can find are low smoke. Any oils out there that produce a good amount of smoke without fucking the engine

I like this style of drawing.

why do you want more smoke user

welcome to urban motorcyclists

they ride like absolute assholes and highside at scooter speeds trying to pretend to be rossi

I'm sure your cb400 managed not to stall at 3k rpm, but it has fuck all available power at low revs. The whole point of that bike is that you have to rev it.

Maybe in high speed racing the fz6 would have a chance? I'm saying it has significantly less (40%) power than the sv650 at realistic speeds that most people would encounter on their commute.

Look, if you are commuting along at 40 mph and see a gap in traffic, by all means smash down from 6th gear to 1st gear and flex your high RPM advantage :) Can't say that'd be faster or better than just already having power available in whatever gear tho

Buy an R6 and start a meth habit, who cares about being a straight line hero anyway?

Use more oil...?
but idk i use pic.

damn it sorry man, replied to myself by accident in this post

and?
whats wrong with revving a bike?
back to my original point, are you scared to rev a bike over 3krpm or something?

You do know even a v twin litre peter isnt making all of its power until over 8krpm too right?

I have no idea. It's a newer bike and it's in really good condition. He's selling it for $1300 right now and says he'll raise it to the blue book value once he gets the title figured out, which he says he'll do in January

I looked it up and found this

>Nontransferable registration is issued to an out-of-state vehicles when the vehicle's registered owner(s) wishes to register the vehicle in California, but is unable to submit proof of ownership for the vehicle

But we live in Arizona, so I don't know
