They can be good cars for the money, even if i still have this mentality that they're shitty cars. I'd advice anyone looking to buy one to avoid models with the 1.8L Nu engine, or anything with a Nu series engine in general, they tend to eat themselves alive. Mine had to be rebuilt under warrenty after only 44k miles, the piston bores wore out and the piston rattled around. From what the Kia mechanic explained, this has to do with the short piston skirt they use, which makes the piston want to lean in the bore, wearing them out faster.
