If I start up another hunter from scratch, should it be the run where I attempt to make the Rifle Spear viable?

My first run I ever did of BB was almost two years ago now, I did mostly Str. I just want to use the Rifle Spear because of its status as the ugly bastard child of a weapon and see if I can make it good.
