got you f a m

Sexmobile.

OP here, my baby

hows that dead transmission

Bought it for $450
119k miles. Guy was going to junk it but all it needed was a new tire rod

Unfortunately for you, your baby used to be a pig's bitch.

>tire rod
Where do these bus riders come from?

It’s alright, still needs a rebuild but i can shift into second with a bit of coaxing. It’s kind of weird i have to take it up to about 5200 rpm, maintain that for two or three seconds then let my foot off of the gas completely. It’ll usually shift into next gear when i do that. It doesn’t shift if i just floor it, it stays in first. Once i’m on the highway i’m golden, third and forth seem to be okay for the most part. I have two cars so i don’t have to run it like that all the time, i only take her out on the weekends.

Ok.

>tfw winter is coming again and soon it will be time for hektik skids

Goddamn, nice, even if that's the ugliest Marquis front end that's a damn steal. Living in a salt state sucks, here $450 will get you three wheels and a pile of iron filings.

I moved from a salt state to texas and oh man, i’m never going back. Luckily my crown vic is from down here, the undercarriage looks newer than my other car and it’s got 37k on it compared to the 170k on my vic. I’m never going back, lol.

I’m sorry, I meant the turn stick

That’s a actually steelie wheelie automobilie, good sport.

what is that, a fucking screen grab?

Yes, all panther platforms welcome here.

Even cops and taxi companies don't want these anymore

I'm not a Panther fanboy, but you're objectively wrong.

lfpress.com/news/london/2010/09/08/15288351.html

They were literally stockpiling these things because the new Ecotoot cars are such shitwagons.

>use the car for minor aggressive maneuver
>TOTAL WRITE OFF
>oh boy guess we need to buy a whole new car from Ford again
>instead of repairing this Crown Vic for 1/4 the cost
>taxpayers will be pleased

only because they care too much about what normies think is a good car

ayy, my old car is in that pic.

The cops use dodge chargers and ford explorers now. Lots even use aTahoes. The are getting rid of crown Vic's ASAP.

Cab companies moved on the Prius, minivans and other more economical options

Because they don't make Crown Vics anymore you dolt. They were ALL outraged when Ford discontinued it.

I bought this my merc for 1400. It has 200k on it and still runs great. It hauls my boat easily but i might need to upgrade the rear shocks. Why the fuck is the valve cover gasket so difficult to replace?

>The are getting rid of crown Vic's ASAP.
>Six years since the last Crown Vic was produced, seven since the last one sold in the 'states, and some areas are still using them
Yeah, that's really getting rid of them ASAP. The Tahoes and Exploders are more popular now because the Taurus (and Charger) that were supposed to replace the Crown Vic just aren't very good at standard police work- there isn't enough room in the cabin or trunk to carry all their shit and still seat two plus people comfortably, something the Panther was almost literally created to excel at. Not to mention the lack of body on frame in the Charger and PI Sedan- no more clipping a curb/car/perp and just replacing the front fender and possibly re-bending the frame.

it's really a shame that past the 80's Ford didn't make Panther Station Wagons.

It's even more surprising that they never bothered trying to compete with GM in the full size Wagon Department.

>tfw no Panther based power wagon with the guts of a Mustang

They had the Taurus and Taurus Wagon, it was a better seller and more profitable than the Panthers. Panthers were expensive to make, actually. Unibody Taurus was cheap as fuck and sold like hotcakes. Even today they are, that's why they've completely gone away from BOF sedans.

Love mine only wish it had the dual exuast

>tfw air suspension starts to go
Is air suspension even a thing anymore? I know trucks still do it, but do sedans fuck with that anymore?

Tesla has air suspension.

I'm still surprised, GM had a full sized body on frame landyacht wagon, and Ford never tried to compete with that.

I suppose Ford saw the writing on the wall and went straight to mid sized cars.

I mean to be fair, Ford's small and mid sized wagons were no slouches.

My dad had a white Ford Escort when I was growing up and that thing was pretty nice.

Shame about that car, he totaled it falling asleep at the wheel on the highway. he was pretty bummed out about that. Wanted to leave it to me as a first car when he got a new car.

Rip that Escort.

it must have been really annoying to park those like that

youtube.com/watch?v=RnLgp9tRXr0&t=
>typical panther platform owner

I thought most Town Cars had dual exhaust as standard? Huh. Sucks you can't even directly bolt on a P71 set due to the wheelbase difference.

reporting

tell me this was ironic

even GM's fullsize wagons were getting dickered near the end due to weird decisions, like how the Olds Custom Cruiser was a stand-alone model at the end because they'd already made what was formerly the sedan counterpart- the long-running 88- a FWD econobox a few years prior
will admit GM's wagon-boats blow panthers out of the fucking water though, 350s and LT1s standard by year, dual-action rear hatch, even longer and with even more space inside

...

Private me reporting for sploosh!

>Pic Related

T H I C C

So did I but mines single and it sucks.

reporting

shouldn't be hard to find a stock dual setup off a wrecked car.

...

what was the deal with those black reflectors in the back? I know for most of the whale run, they were red to look like a lightbar, but then I see some models with that in black instead

>autistic fetish for a land barge with a shit V8 that made less horsepower than the average V6 and slower than most civics

What is wrong with you people? At least toyobaru and nipbox enthusiasts have the good handling going for them

Fuck off m8, we like what we like and you can’t do shit about it

>SLA front suspension
>Meh-tier live axle with Watts link
>Weighs less than a Charger/Challenger
>Lasts hundreds of thousands of miles no problem
>Metaphorically (and sometimes literally) bulletproof
>Can be made reasonably fast with mods for fairly cheap
>Looks alright, no ANGRY HEADLIGHT syndrome
>Comfy AF even with stiffened aftermarket suspension
>Literally steamrolls thru almost any car it hits
Just because most of us are spergs doesn't mean our cars aren't decent.

because The panther cars were the last of an entire era of American auto engineering.

>Body on Frame
>Full sized Sedan
>classical American 3 box proportion philosophy
>classical American car design and styling
>automatic column shift V8 as the only powertrain
>engine designed for reliability and longevity rather than performance and speed, resulting in a smooth ride that isn't fast but has more than enough power to get out of it's own way on a highway or interstate

The Panther body was the epitome of postwar American car design, and it was the last of it's kind.

So basically, if you want a relatively modern car that offers that classical American sedan feel and look, a Crown Vic, Town Car, or Grand Marquis are literally and figuratively your only options, as they made them until 2011.

GM killed the B Body back in the 90's with stuff like the early 90's Caprice and 90's Fleetwood, which themselves are also the last of that kind of car mind you, but are plagued by GM quality issues in the engine department specifically. And, again, died with the 90's

...

can you put the turtle in the bottom half as well

That was just part of the 2006+ grand marq facelift.

it always sort of bummed me out that the reflectors weren't just a lightbar like they do with lincolns these days

...

erry time

...

>shouldn't be hard to find a stock dual setup off a wrecked car.
he'd still have to modify it because town cars have a longer wheelbase so the exhaust hangers won't match up

Great care must be taken to preserve the Crown Victoria!

Use stock duals off a Town Car, plenty of them out there.

Reporting

Fuck me

The guys that like these must be the same ones that chase fatties

They have crap engines, crap rides, crap cornering. The only people that still drive these are people paid to drive them

>They have crap engines,
tuned for longevity and reliability, not speed or power. those engines are bulletproof, which counts for a lot.
>crap rides,
they are literally like couches on wheels, doubly so for the ones with air suspension.

>crap cornering
spoken like a true europoor.

cornering isnt that big a deal in murrika,

You've never driven anything else so you don't know what you're missing. The only good thing about these is the rear wheel drive.

Probably haven't had a real vagina either.

Kill yourself eurofag this is a Murica thread unless you own a panther body too.

They are ok cars, but don't deserve the cult following they seem to have (especially p71's)

>tfw P71 is probably the cheapest panther you could get, with potential bonuses from being an ex cop car but if you get one you'll always seem like an autist because of the weird cult status cop vics have for some reason

>potential bonuses from being an ex cop car
There are none.
>but muh cop tires, muh cop suspension, muh cooler that, my cooler this, muh push bar, muh spot light

Only poor teenagers buy p71's

brother! what year is yours? Mines an 89

Mines also an 89. It has about 180,000 miles but just keeps wafting down the road. Easily the most reliable car I've ever had

What's with the gay tach?

I now an Somali taxi driver on welfare wit one just like this! What a beauty

So that's a no on vagina

My first box was a 91 GM, it was an unreliable pos, but I still loved it. I'll always like the 90/91 dashes better than the earlier ones because of that shitbox.

Town Car a gud car.

...

redpill me on the early 90's town car

I hear those actually came with a car-phone

How does that work?

Anyone have one of those?

Because I needed something that could fit my life in the trunk, go 400 miles a tank on the highway and still make it down orv trials. I have not been disappointed.

I like my 05 MGM better then my buddies long wheel base 86 S class, suck it. The 4.6 is smoother, way faster then an om603 and quieter not to mention far better handling.

I have the car phone option in my 93 VIII, its an AMPS phone so they cant work anymore, but the handsfree would have been cool. Really just a conversation piece that sits in your center console.

aw thats a shame.

mirin that rear.

pre facelift Mark 8's were pure sex

It's always seemed like these cars were dead ends for go fast mods. The only thing I can think of to wake up my p71 short of a full engine swap is a swap to a Trac loc axle

Tune plus jmod is a start.

I've thought about just waiting until I graduate and buying a box panther just to have access to the 302's aftermarket. What kind of tune are you talking about? I have an 08 p71 for reference

I mean, later panthers share the exact same engine with the Mustang, it's just tweaked and tuned differently

so two pigfat boats?
nice selection there
