The reality of a top 500 tracer or genji is that they won't just be scared off by the team, they are actually skilled enough to kill you despite you and your team.
You will have to accept that you're gonna die a lot but you can also get clutch sleeps and such. So, really it should be a toss up whether you die or not each time. The point is just because you're dying a lot doesn't mean you're bad.
Hell if you watch pro games the supports are basically cannon fodder

wrong, zen can quite literally one shot tracer, all it takes is a single headshot with discord and he's won the fight.
It is a totally even match up. Sometimes she will one clip you
Other times you should be one shotting her, once again if you can aim. If you can't at the very least give the tracer pause for a bit then you are a bad zen.

I agree on the flank part, honestly. It's great that you can block flankers alone, or flank yourself.

You can be an off tank better than Hog, only issue that stops you from being constantly focussed is her low health pool compared to other tanks

If you panic wall you will for sure trouble your teamates, If you're looking for a panic-ability based character, I'd say Tracer. Mei's only panic button is the fact that her right click deals a good amount of damage. Best way to play as Mei is to play safe (wall enemies, use your wall for flank routes/trapping, cryo-freezing to build ult/holding objectives alterning between your wall and your cryo 'till teamates come). She isn't a character with panic abilities.
