Ironically, the world is actually full of smart people who never amounted to much. So being labeled "gifted" in elementary school IQ type tests doesn't mean the person is going to succeed in life. Many sad examples exist of brilliant people wasting their lives away once they started using drugs. Or there can be good people on track to succeed but jealous "friends" hooked them on drugs to ruin their lives a bit.

Working hard and doing so CONSISTENTLY with a reliable personality is the best way to have good chances for success. I used to be friends (out of touch now) with someone from my hometown whose IQ was low and he also talked slowly, but he was always diligent and motivated. He was good with working with his hands (no coordination problems) and he worked on cars.

Eventually, he made enough money that he opened up a car service shop of his own. He refused to cheat customers and did service at a lower price than other places, so he was soon fully booked as a shop of "First Resort" for many people. He expanded his shop at least two times after buying out additional store spaces and also opened up a separate successful used car dealership elsewhere. His kids now run the service shop and he likes to sit back at the dealership and tell stories while others sell the cars. He's quite wealthy and did far better than most other graduates from my high school. He had lots of disadvantages and the discrimination from others for being retarded. But he made something of himself and managed to help his friends too if they needed a job and if he had space for them.

The problem is that lots of criminals look for all sorts of ways to garner sympathy, mental health disability points, and special lenient treatment from prisons and jails that have been ordered to not do things that make certain types of prisoners worse off.

What I don't like is having to pay taxes to fund people's lives and their retirement options due to fake disability. Frosty probably learned the lowdown on what things to do that will add points toward disability and he's ticking them off on a checklist to get closer to living the rest of his life on the public dole.

In some ways, I almost wish my city would get "white flight" like Detroit and serve as the lesson to the area on what happens with coddling of problem cases. My home is in the privileged core area, so as with Detroit's own privileged core areas, they get protected by the police, fire, and city services "normally" while the vast other areas have problems.

That's actually far more expensive to the taxpayer. My state currently spends about $48,000 USD in direct costs (averaged) per prisoner. That's multiple times more money than someone living on the dole especially when you factor in the retirement costs of the police and prison guards involved in the process.

How does Frosty even have enough money to get surgery? The courts and lawyers must have confiscated everything to pay all the fees and costs. And with drugs, everything involved with the drugs such as the car is confiscated.

In my area, the police have pretty rich retirements because a portion of all the seized property goes into the supplemental police retirement fund. Not only do they get full ride medical plans and large pensions, they also have retirement plans to go with the pensions and then the supplemental retirement funds. The police officer in my neighborhood is already a millionaire and he has a long ways to go yet in his career.
