In your opinion, what is the best time period for cars so far?

depends what you mean by "best period"
although all cars in general were pretty nice for their time in the 80s and 90s, performance cars are way better now

1900-1914

The flat-edgy-wide sports cars of the 80s are top tier aesthetics for me.

Countach, Testarossa, Vektor W8, etc.

The sixties, they had the best designs, best economy to sell too, a high number of competitive companies trying to out do each other and very little government interference.

The 60's and the mid 80's to edge of the 90's
The 70's sucked and 2000 and up sucks

Early to mid 90s had the best european and japanese cars with timeless styling.

You're all autistic. You only reminisce a time era when you weren't alive (I know you're all 16-17 max) because that was the era when JDM was actually good. Now it's average and is getting outpaced even by the Koreans so all you do is hold on to the good old days.

Opinions are asked
Opinions are given

>you're all autistic and underage

Never change, Veeky Forums.

It's no question that the 60s was the best era for cars. No emissions regulations to sap horsepower, which manufacturers were finally figuring out how to put out in spades. No safety regulations to mandate tiny windows and airbags and backup cameras, no shit taste to dictate "angry jellybean" styling, etc etc.

that which has yet to happen, because as i'm sure you can see through data over the years, cars are getting safer, faster, they are handling better, and capable of more and more.

That being said i'd like to own a mitsubishi evolution 3. so, i guess that time would be the time, outside of our time line.

99.99% of Veeky Forums is still in high school. How else do you explain the auto sticker general, honda general, and toyota general threads?

Any opinion against JDM cars especially honda gets you hated on insanely. The only non retards on this board are on either qtdttot or off road general

This speaks to the fact that almost all of Veeky Forums is either a poor teen in high school driving a 500 dollar civic or just drives their parent's car.

>so far

i know several 30 year old men who have stickers from that thread on their car

I'd have to say for me, it was the 90s, My 1995 corolla used to dust the fuck out of Gti fags.

>No emissions regulations to sap horsepower, which manufacturers were finally figuring out how to put out in spades.

Performance cars since the late '90s have eclipsed pretty much everything that came before, and the last 15 years have seen horsepower numbers grow to once unthinkable numbers.

And this is all with factory warranties, mild street manners, no need to adjust the carb or lifters, reasonable fuel economy, no need leaded gas, and clean tailpipe emissions.

Take off the rose colored glasses and realize that the present is an amazing time to be a car guy.

maybe if you present your opinions as less of an autistic cunt people won't hate you

just a thought

>tfw you enjoy adjusting carbs and lifters, but can't get your fix on new cars because they're full of confusers

70's Australian muscle car design

1880-1899

t. watched mad max

And yet you can walk into a dealership and buy a car that puts three hemp barracudas with of power to the rear wheels.

Wrong, the 90's were the time when materials were finally sorted, computers were used correctly and minimally, and tolerances were great.

New cars are just plastic computers.
Old cars were just vinyl linkages.

I liked the mid 80's through the first couple years of the 2000's for cars. Like said, it was the best compromise between electrics and mechanics.

Also, I'm a sucker for 80's sportcar styling. Something about the angular shapes and cyberpunk-esque looks really gets to me, even though a bunch of those cars were pretty shitty. I remember I found my love of those cars when I rode in my buddy's 86 supra when I was like 15.

The Countach is from the 70's
