How did we go from this

How did we go from this...

TO THIS

this looks better imo

and also I like the Mustang II

TO FUCKING THIS

WHAT THE FUCK

>first gen boss
>shelby foxbody
>base model new edge

try again bait poster

also sage goes into the options field

It was bound to happen from the start

>implying the newst gen isn't the ugliest.

How did this

Become this

My mom had a Mustang. I always thought it was more of a chick car. So does she.

Ok but I actually really like this design even if they’re turds

The real question to be asking

Ripping off muscle cars wasn’t working anymore, so the Japanese had to come up with original designs.

>what is the oil crisis

>oil crisis
>Z28 Camaro
>1969 = 302ci high compression engine
>1978 = 350ci low compression engine

That beautiful

Were they original many 80's and 90's cars ape off of euro cars of the time mainly italian cars.

from this

...to THIS??

Still looks happy

nah man

...

Heh, that's a good one

the mind is a place all of its own and in it self Can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven. What matter where, if I be still the same

>the II's absolutely buggered proportions
>better than the fox
In case you hadn't noticed, design trends changed.
The New Edge is the best looking one though. Sleek and crisp. Only sin is stock wheel gap/wheel design.

The New Edge mustang can be a perfect car.
It just takes every single bit from every different versions of itself.
>mach 1 interior
>terminator drivetrain
>an irs that doesnt clunk
>cobra r fascia and wheels

And for god sakes some fucking ride height adjustment.

Modern corporate market research, risk aversion, test marketing, cost analysis watered down bullshit. That's how.

I personally think the newest gen facelift is the most beautiful of them all, maybe apart from the second facelift foxbody

The only Ford I would buy.

could be the influence of pontac

Base models always look like shit.

Meanwhile in non base model Foxbody territory.

If BMW had any balls they would have made it RWD

Does anyone even make rwd hot hatches that don't cost a gorillion dollars

BMW used to make 1 series 2 door hatches that were somewhere in the 20-35 euro range I believe.
Now they are just 4 door models.

Why would they have done that?

I'd have the base 70's version desu

To prove that their madmen

because BMW make pretty much all their cars RWD

And the purpose of releasing a Mini would have what exactly?
>It's almost like releasing a V6 auto only Skyline

This.

How did the Celica transform from the sleek Japanese muscle car and later the raddest motherfucking rally weapon for the road, to the ugly FWD fish that was the 7th gen model.

I will never get over how pigfat some of the new "minis" are.
fucking clubman

the foxbody has way better general handling and performance and looks more like a fast sports car

> later the raddest motherfucking rally weapon for the road

>pssst, hey kid

one of the raddest rally weapons*

I love them both, don't mind me. Even got to see Sainz and Kankkunen dice.

Please elaborate, your example makes no sense to me

RR like a smartcar

The Mini was the worlds first transverse front wheel drive, this was done to make the car roomy despite it's size and cheap. The fact that it had a compromised fwd setup is what made the car what it was, like a Fiat 500 or a Volkswagen Beetle or a Corvette.

My example was just a cheap shot at V35/G35 etc

Exactly.
New Fiat and Beetle went from RR to FF.
Ergo Mini should have gone FR(Or RF even) for the sake of Cosmic Balance.

I can see why you say that but to me they shouldn't have raped the 500 or Beetle names.
>inb4 Ecotec Corvette

>Or RF even
Idiot detected. Do you know why no production cars have ever been rear engine, front drive? Because it's shit. It combines all the issues of rear-engines with none of the benefits of front-drive.

I'd hazard a guess what he actually meant was RR

>rear tyre doesn't even fit on the rim to make the stupid fitment work
Stancefags should unironically be gassed.

while we're at it...
How did we get to this?

The third gen Lancia Delta was merely a LWB Fiat Bravo, it looked awkward, was kinda expensive, nobody bought it and eventually it disappeared

The 2nd gen Delta was meh too, but it was available as an HF (no integrale, so fwd) with the old Integrale 16v's engine. So the 2nd gen HF is a decent engine donor if you blow up your Integrale, which is better than nothing

I second this my mustang looks like someone put spares on it and the wheels look like someone made it from smoking LSD

nigger dont shit on 2nd gens. they're just a different kind of cool than the firsts.

Because the Japs can only make good looking cars when they parrot foreign designs. Toyota stopped mimicking Ford and decided to make a cheap Gallardo knockoff.

Meth, not even once

>Front end easily mistaken for other 90's cars.
I hate it when manufacturers tell the designers to just make the car look like everything else on the road.

That's every decade, though? The new edge front is sharp and subtle, doesn't have to be wildly unique. Although I don't know what it exactly resembles to you.

180hp Z28, shovel nose front, there's nothing cool there.
