In all fairness it's probably not the mods fault. Seems to have been a server issue as a few generals were killed off too early.

How do I git gud at infection? I can play a mean survivor (loads of kills, often lms, good at hiding) but I can't play zombie/flood for the life of me.

Most likely, yes. The place is huge so the main stem itself is easily large enough to house a city. The smaller stems are docks and refueling stations, though in my opinion they are far too cluttered for that to really work out well.
Man the main dome is shaped fucking weird though.

So obviously keep practicing, but when you do, focus your evades based on what YOU would do if you're a survivor. Keep it up, you can do it.

My least favorite Halo weapons are the spiker and concussion rifle.

One of the H2A terminals shows an early look at the city around the keyship before they made it to space with it yet. I think it used to be on the prophet hone world.

The ship itself was from the prophet home world, and due to their limited knowledge of how to use it it ripped a huge chunk of dirt out of the ground when they left which is what all the terrain on the bottom floor part you see in Gravemind is built on. I'm curious why the outside of the dome is so weird looking.

Already got all the difficult achievements in TMCC (LASO, speedruns, multiplayer) but i took a break from it.

That plot never went anywhere.

The alien ship itself is not important. But it did have an effect on the story. It was Guilty Spark's motivation for not following protocal when the humans and covenant arrived, as he had followed it with the first ship and got bored that nothing happened as a result.
Guilty Spark could have killed everyone, human, covenant, and flood alike, once things started to get out of hand but he decided to let it play out due to being amused by the first exciting series of events happening since the Halo arrays fired. This ability to override protocal was a side effect of his rampancy.
This is why after he followed protocal with the crashed alien ship, he said "next time things will be different."

The Blistful slumber or whatever (the storm rifle variant) is probably the closest halo version of a lore tier plasma rifle.

I mean lore wise plasma weapons have small splash damage and are terrifying. That storm rifle is scary in a mid-close range fight

Nah. They have to close the reclaimer arc first. We are more likely to get banished than flood, and even that is a small chance.
