The nature of Splatoon makes it a hard to review game. It is mostly multiplayer with a ton of content coming that comes after release. Splatoon 1 came out with just 4 maps. You can feel whatever way you want about the review scores but I'm not going to let it bother me.

Yes to all of that. Some are calling it Splatoon 1.5, but if we're gonna be realistic, it has more than enough to justify a sequel. It also looks noticeably nicer on the Switch than it did on the Wii U.

The mechanics are basically the same, but the new campaign, horde mode, new weapons, new maps, and new gear justify a sequel. They also adjusted some of the old weapons, so there's that.

Why can't I preorder Splatoon 2 on my switch? The EShop has no option for it yet the nintendo website says for certain games, big IPs I assume like Splatoon, you can preorder it and it will predownload it only needing a small update on release.

Digital preorders are still not available for Switch games.

So the switch isn't touchscreen? I also hear the gyros + Sticks got fucked up a bit since the controller is so much smaller, but it wont be hard to git gud again

From my understanding that Switch cartridges are read only, I assume that Splatoon 2 will eventually get updates that will consume some space even if you buy physical. Unless you maxed out your Switch's initial 32GB, there shouldn't be an issue though.

The Switch has a capacitive touchscreen. Splatoon 2 doesn't use it though.

Depends on the games you're getting and their respective updates. If you're going physical-only it should take a while to max out the 32GB.

It has a touchscreen, I don't think Splatoon 2 uses it though.
About the controller, yeah, at first it's a little weird but during the splat-fest I was able to get back into my groove for the most part. It's not broken by any means, just different.
