I hit the floor in my 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 quite a bit. I just do it when I'm bored because I can't beat traffic still.

That is the maximum I did with my car, 2 hours driving at topspeed, then I arived and needed to refuel. Engine temperature: 84°C
With my motorcycle I did 3 hours above 8000 rpm. Engine temperature: way over 100°C, dops of water boiled away instatntly on the head.

I had a 1992 Ford Escort that I rapped out to around 100ish. The speedo only went to 85 though. So after that one experience the speedo would have this floaty kinda movement.

These engines are overbuild as fuck, it somehow survived 12000 rpm despite loosing power beyond 5500 rpm...
I heared that they are supposed to desintegrate above 14000 rpm, tuners pushed reinforced versions all the way to 18000 rpm.
These things make about 450 hp/L naturaly aspirated at that kind of rpm.

Done about 8600rpm at 145mph for roughly 8 miles in my Accord Type R coming home from work one night.

On most work days as I'm entering speedway I like to drop it into third for 4500RPM around 90kmh and then upshift right on 5300RPM mark (5.4k redline).

On some turns I also like to drop it into second for 4200 - 4800RPM (between 50-60 kmh), engine break into half of the turn and then hit the gaspedal for all the acceleration my shitbox can deliver.
