They copypasted it from the phoenix folder as far as I can tell. It's not in the elizabeth folder by default.

As for the setup, it's a decent single-window recording. Just slap some artwork with maybe some information about the case over the IC textbox and emotes window and you're basically ready to go, if you don't mind the black bars on the side from most widescreen video players.
What you could also do is mess around with your client theme so that everything you need to record is all in its own little space so that you don't need to have separate captures for penalty bars and such, assuming you're using something like OBS

Also, on further note, it's a bad idea to have your IC identity so prevalent in the recording if you plan on participating in the case. Keeping yourself relatively anonymous helps keeps things less about you and more about the thing you're participating in.

I am completely incompetent at overlays and shit with OBS. I'll have to play around with the sources to get that stuff, and while I'd like to do that, I just started recording a case.

I don't plan on recording cases I participate in. Way too focused on playing than making sure it's recording properly. That's kind of why I picked Mister Hat, way too out of place to be considered a genuine character (in most non-meme cases).

Addressing the preanimations, the argument of lifeless and slow is strange to me, considering the way I made it was by using the full body to get the actual game animation, then lowering to the 256x192.
I suppose "fitting it to fit the limits" is what I should have done.

The animations are supposed to play and move about on-screen even if the sprites remain relatively still in the source files. I dealt with something similar when making Naoto. (I'm still not satisfied with the end result and probably will come back to it)
