Hope scorch will still fucking suck even after a buff
Josiah Perez
Xth for BBQ KING As long as he is better than he currently is I'm happy.
John Davis
>Ronin thinks he's flashy with his dashes and sword block >Consistently jam tracker missiles into his weeb asshole until he's forced to spend 80% of the game hobbling around in sword block
Is it just me or are a full half of Ronin players in this game not impressive at all and completely rely on people letting them fuck them up?
>Oh wow he phased through me and released smoke what a true combat master assassin turning around is such a strange concept
Kevin Sanchez
>there are more shitters than actually decent players Wow what a discovery, takes a tone player to figure it out so late
Michael Reed
>le tone is OP reddit pls nerf
Yeah it figures that with three Titans better than her at long range and two Titans better than her at close range she shouldn't be strong in the middle ground right?
The only time Tone was ever OP in any way was when Salve Core deleted Titans from full HP and I didn't even use her then I used Ion the actual OP titan of the timeand even then she was't as OP as Ion
Blake Harris
Says the tone player. Real rocketeers play northstar
Sebastian Baker
Tone isn't just good at killing titans, it's her ridiculous pilot killing potential that's the worst thing about her. She essentially has a kraber with explosive rounds as a main weapon and it deletes pilots like no one's business
Xavier Howard
>implying i ever said this boring ass piece of trash is somehow OP or hard to delete Go drop more panic shields shitter, or better learn a titan which takes pressing more than 3 buttons to use
Logan Adams
Paging SW. PC redditor.
Levi Hill
HAH I honestly forgot Pilots are a thing in this game since I've only played Titan Brawl for quite a while, sorta forgot about 1 shotting pilots but I've seen complains about it go way down after the projectile size was nerfed.
You know user, if you keep dying to Tones, you can dash away and avoid the tracker rockets. It might be mentally taxing to time your dashes to a flurry of rockets coming at your face but it takes as much focus as your well used "get out of jail free for being caught out" phase dash.
Christopher Cox
The one shots still happen far too often, and Tone is more effective than scorch for flushing pilots out of cover too
Kevin Hernandez
>dying to tones Fucking kek, do you die to scorch as well?
David Wright
>first mutliplayer fps in 10 years >multiplayer is filled with skilled veteran players who will eat me alive How long do I need to suffer before I get good?
James Thompson
Make a game out of seeing how long you can not touch the ground and you'll get a good feel for the movement system, knowing how to use the movement in this game is probably the biggest factor between being bad and being fast.
Isaiah Morgan
eternally
Leo Morgan
half of those people that stomped you were probably not skilled veterans, but average players using the R97 or CAR. SMGs are horribly overpowered, besides the Volt.
Isaiah Torres
You'll always suffer because Respawn can't balance a game to save their fucking lives. Granted, a new patch is coming Soon™ and it'll have high TTK and aim assist changes which will hopefully fix such issues. And yes, the balance situation used to be even worse (looking at you, Tone), but it took them only eight fucking months to get to this point.
Jackson Bennett
took me a day or two before I started getting the hang of it, but I play fps games a lot
mostly need to get out of certain fps habits when you play tf2
>need to always be moving, be on walls as often as you can >a lot of guns don't need to be ADS'd to fire accurately >learning wallrunning routes on every map >learn how2grapple >learning titan picks and counters
once you actually get the feel and git gud it's a blast to play but that initial learning curve is pretty hard, I know a few of my friends and roommates who dropped it because they didn't want to spend the time to git gud with the game mechanics
start out using the stim pilot class and the car, both are pretty basic and easy to get the feel for once you start to understand the game more, branch out to other weapons and classes
Jackson Long
>start out with stim >not grapple
Alexander Scott
stim is better for shitters
Angel Gutierrez
stim is good for starters, grapple has a much higher skill ceiling
Carson Wood
>mostly need to get out of certain fps habits when you play tf2 Think this is the major problem for me since I'm not used to run and gun. Also, should I turn on auto-sprint for this "Bunny hop"?
Noah Scott
you don't run and gun, you wallrun and gun no, auto-sprint is shit
Xavier Russell
I personally keep it off, the slide-hop isn't very difficult to do it's doing the air-strafe that is actually a bit more difficult to get the hang of
Thomas Lee
>but I've seen complains about it go way down after the projectile size was nerfed. I like tone a lot more post nerf but I miss having a go to titan for ez butthurt. People make the mistake of thinking Ronin or monarch take any skill so no one seems to get mad now if you pick one of the two easiest titans in the game other than tone and tone doesn't get nearly as many [you]s
Load up a custom match and practice grappling for like 5-10 minutes focusing on slinging yourself into a high speed launch. Grapple is the most busted tactical aside from phase and it's better than stim since you'll be able to maintain that speed more effectively
I can't wait for HTTK nerfs to come into play so people have to actually move on their own more often because their cop out button for being slow got nerfed.
Like how? You can predict where phase shitters will come out like 90% of the time, it's annoying yes but far from busted
Jose Turner
SYAMPUUH, GIVE ME JAP PACK V2.0.6.1 REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Anthony Allen
>Return to battle
Nicholas Rivera
maybe offline or already left. thanks for lookin
David Sanders
The problem with phase is when they chain it, having to wait on phase once isn't a big deal, having to wait on phase twice because you don't instagib them 100% of the time the second they get out of it just makes it tedious to deal with. Considering most people who chain phase will go into the second phase the second they hear fire come their way on exit HTTK was on point with nerfing it down to 1 longer charge.
Jason Hughes
Quoted the OP rather than your post.
Cooper Powell
everything about Scorch prime is superior to original
Joseph Collins
...
Kayden Thomas
Newpilot here, help me out 1.Whats HTTK? 2.What makes Phase busted?
Jayden Murphy
1. a gamemode where you don't get melted by fucking carbines in fraction of a second 2. see
Chase Allen
High Time To Kill (HTTK) was a recent test Respawn did that ultimately increased the TTK more than is seen currently. This included changes like nerfs to most every gun and reduced effectiveness of a few tacticals, allowing fights to last just a little bit longer.
In its current state, Phase Shift is the closest thing to a get-out-of-jail-free card in the game. For two seconds, you are completely invincible and intangible, leaving an enemy unable to do anything but try and track you through phase space. This gives you a chance to get away, reposition, reload, prime a grenade, whatever. It's most commonly used as a panic button; the moment the Pilot takes damage from anything at any range, they immediately pop phase shift to force a disengagement, or give them time to loop around and counterattack.
And the best (worst) part? You currently get TWO charges of it.
Lucas Reyes
1. high time to kill 2. it's an oh shit button that makes you basically invincible
Connor Garcia
Where are these Scorch buffs I keep hearing about?
Justin Stewart
in 5 days
Cooper Ross
Where can I read about them?
Cameron Morgan
The devs confirmed them in the AMA.
Xavier Hill
Respawn did an AMA yesterday or so. They directly confirmed Scorch is getting more buffs.
Benjamin Richardson
in patchnotes when they release
Luke James
>Scorch """"""buffs"""""" are just going to be fixing the bug where you slam a theirmite grenade into a titans face and it all falls off after dealing two ticks of damage.
I hope it's something along the lines of faster dash recharge or faster movespeed in general whenever somebody is taking fire damage. He's bad because he's a close combat Titan with zero dashes by default and the slowest run speed.
Eli Jones
>ogre >mobility lmao no
Nathan Perry
>no titanfall game/mission where you're in space vietnam burning jungles down in your titan while "it ain't me" plays from your cockpit speakers
Jacob Torres
>faster dash recharge or faster movespeed lol no, scorch is an ogre
Michael Phillips
IMCuck please
Christian Peterson
>Can only do any kind of damage when close to somebody >"No he doesn't need mobility he has a lot of health to soak up damage as he waddles into damage range it's fine"
Ronin is a close combat titan that can't do shit at range, and you know what he has? Several things to help him get in range and keep people in range. You know what Scorch doesn't have? That.
Leo King
Pissdrinker please.
Lucas Green
It has tools to block the retreat paths so it can get close. The problem is that those tools suck. It's also a mystery of the century how a titan which uses fucking fire is not immune or extremely resistant to at least his own fire.
Jordan Gutierrez
>The problem is that those tools suck
Exactly. Incendiary Trap doesn't slow, neither does Firewall. Unless it's a tiny hallway map like Complex a Titan is almost always gonna be able to just walk away from the giant areas of flames.
>not immune or extremely resistant to at least his own fire.
Just another aspect like his shit primary and his lack of decent kits that make him the worst Titan in the game. I mean find me any one person that's ever used something besides Thermal Shield or Wildfire Launcher unironically.
Hunter Hall
I hear about a scorch buff, but best boi is already a best.
Especially in these noob farming times. I keep decimating the shitscan babbies with scorch.
Kayden Rogers
I was running thermal plating for a while and it actually makes a huge difference in playstyle.
Poppa Scorch can just create an area of denial with it, but you're still vulnerable to plinking if you don't space it right.
I think that's my biggest complaint about scorch if anything. Even if you play angles with him, people can still outmaneuver you with their normal run speed. Even if you have some cover, a NS or Tone can just casually jog into sightlines and there's nothing you can do to break it.
Andrew Perry
where has a scorch buff been confirmed??
Henry Watson
Literally how would you buff Scorch? It's his very concept that sucks ass, not the execution. >a close range titan >but slow as fuck and no gap-closing abilities
Joseph Butler
In the Respawn AMA yesterday.
Brayden Martinez
So /tfg/, what would you say is the #1 most difficult weapon to use in the game and do well with? Pic unrelated.
Nolan Gomez
Reduce the damage of flame wall and give it a slowing effect.
If you can get the drop you're good, but you shouldn't be chasing people in scorch, he's an area denial specialist.
Hunter Clark
Almost certainly the SMR. Also what the hell is wrong with whoever choreographed that shit?
Adrian Perry
It's a Resident Evil movie. Don't worry about it.
Andrew Lopez
Just make him immune to his thermite. It's absolutely ridiculous that he has to maneuver around his own abilities.
Jeremiah Thompson
memeball
Elijah Cox
>CQC with Pilots is literally flying at hundreds of miles per hour to kick or punch someone in the face I really wanted to see two Pilots go hand to hand in campaign. I honestly can't say I'm bad with all weapons. Most of my kills are luck.
Brody Campbell
Pilot gameplay is pretty much CoD but with wallrunning, so that happens.
I'd elect the filename but it's a secondary, so I'll have to go for SMR. I guess it's no surprise that it'd only be good against titans, seeing as it was an AT weapon in the first game.
Connor Jackson
I'm so trash at fighting in titans, how do I do it lads? Or should I just stick to fucking tone or something.
Lucas Butler
>so I'll have to go for SMR What? I'm a braindead idiot and the SMR is fairly easy. It's like a much faster L-STAR.
Anthony Rodriguez
Hit targets Don't get hit Git gud
Hudson Morris
>Hit targets How am I supposed to hit targets with Northstar's aiming reticle?
Brody Wright
Literally point it at crit zone and shoot. Remember northstar projectile has a travel time.
Jeremiah Mitchell
lower rate of fire and lower magazine size says hello, I'd imagine most people have a harder time with it.
You think something else is harder?
Daniel Young
New Player how do I git gud? How can I get my own robot?
Ryan Clark
Softball
James Wilson
Maybe? I used it a ton on launch and did okay, it's splash is pretty forgiving, but it's the next best thing to useless against people who know how to move.
Ryder Ward
It's basically an EPG but with a projectile arc. Even if you can't lead for shit you can still do okay with a bit of air and carpet bombing. That's what I feel, at least. It's pretty damn hard to get a good feel for it, though.
Jose Jenkins
Go fast Kill baddies Praise Viper Love Sniper-chan
Joseph Phillips
...
Austin Parker
Ogres look so odd now without the "backpack" Legion and Scorch has
Ethan Johnson
How do I get a robot? Do I have to buy one from the shop first?
Gavin Stewart
Everybody's saying SMR, but that's just a projectile assault rifle. Once you learn the lead it isn't much harder than the other ARs. Double Take is the hardest primary.
Daniel Cook
>Just got the EPG to G2 for the death from above patch >Started working on the Coldwar >mfw I realise I am terrible with grenadier weapons
Josiah Ortiz
What? No. you have a meter ingame that builds over time and goes faster as you get kills and participate in the match's objective. When the meter is full you can summon your "robot".
Colton Cruz
You start the game with three Titans unlocked; you can buy the other four with credits later. Select the Titan you want before entering a game.
When playing a match in a mode that allows Titans, there's a gauge in the bottom left corner of the screen. This is your Titan build meter. It slowly fills up by itself over time, but you can speed it up by destroying enemies or completing objectives. When the meter is full, the game will tell you your Titan is ready, and you can call them down to the map via Titanfall.
Colton Murphy
>Scorch has a shitty thermite grenade launcher and ground pound instead of a mech-sized flamethrower What the fuck is this I can't make my enemies FEEL THE POWER OF THE HEAT with this
Austin Jackson
Thanks guys
Parker Scott
>double take Speaking of, does anyone have any tips for it? I feel like it's basically a kraber with no bullet drop and less damage and yet I'm struggling with it.
Jaxon King
Do you guys even stacc
Andrew Miller
I only get matched with much better guys is there even somekind of matchmaking going on?
Luke Stewart
Nope. Maybe you'll want to go back to the campaign to get a better feel for the game?
Anthony Cruz
So I'm on the fence about switching to the L-star because a) it's cool and, b) it doesn't hitscan. Is this the slowest decision of my life Fast Guys?
Connor Green
Why don't you just put it in one of your loadouts and play it when you want to? The game doesn't force you to use only one weapon, you know.
Isaiah Allen
any ps4 pilots up for playing?
Gabriel Nguyen
@shampooh
I noticed that in your Monarch's Reign patch notes you mentioned all the possible names of Monarch bounty Titans in BH. Do you have a list for the other six Titans in the game?
William James
I know that I should really just try it out and see how I like it, but I don't want to sink hours of practice into a weapon that's always gonna get outdone by cars and alts. I'm mostly just curious about whether it's viable at all.
