Blizz fucked up by making all the defense heroes gimmicky niche heroes, while making every offense hero a minmaxing combo of "Mobile and kills shit effictively and quickly"

While simultaneously launching with just 3 heroes that can heal whilst needing 2 in every game.

This. The day bastion or junkrat become meta is the day I uninstall. I'm glad they exist for players who like those sorts of characters, but losing to them is absolutely miserable.

This game could actually use less damage, less powerful heals, less ult charge, and less mobility. Something to slow down the flow of the game. There's so much dumb shit in the game and the dominant playstyle is dogpiling with abusive move skills.

I'm bad at this game, but the lowest I've been was when I first calibrated to 2700~ during Season 2. I got to Masters and stayed there every season since then.
The majority of my friends who play this game are gold, and playing against other gold players in QP really opened my eyes.
In order, I think the skills gold players sorely lack the most are positioning, helping/sticking with team mates (team-shooting, saving team mates, etc.), mechanics, and aim.
Plus, I think most of them just go on auto-pilot during certain engagements or parts of a match.

Because defense heroes are inherently unfun to play against. Defense heroes are in a decent place right now. They're still usable, they're powerful in niche situations, but not amazing. If they were powerful you would be filled with hate at Mei's point-covering Blizzard launching several times a round, or getting your shit kicked in by Torb's now-buffed turret while he's also shooting you in Molten Core which lasts 12 seconds and makes him nigh unstoppable, or being killed by Junkrat's 120 damage fuck-you mine that kills anything directly in front of him while he bombards you from the air spamming more than Pharah ever could, or pretty much anything about Hanzo, or Bastion's turret which can shred any tank in the blink of an eye.

Defense heroes are purposely underpowered and it's good that they are. If they weren't the game would be cancer.

Snipers and one hit kill abilities like Reinhardt charge/Doomfist punch should be removed from the game. I don't care how 'good' you are at aiming and I don't care how 'LUL FUNNY' it is, oneshots just don't have a place in Overwatch.

i already miss old bastion. he had a clear cut identity as an immobile death zone who shreds tanks even from a long distance but struggles to beat anyone outside of his transformed forms, and had clear cut counters to encourage swapping. they brought everthing he had closer together in power level, making his recon more powerful and his deployed forms less powerful, but this only really served to make him completely uninteresting as a character. they could have gone for a different route, like applying the repair-move change while also neutering the time to transform to the really powerful turret form. that way his identity as the immobile death zone for beginners that requires a direct counter would have remained.

Have you played mei; junkrat or bastion recently? They are not "in a good place" right now, they're on a completely different level of power to the good offense heroes. They dont even get picked by pros ever, in any meta not just dive, because they've never been useful enough to warrant picking

Used to be a mccree main until this season, he's just too frustrating to play right now. You're the target of every dive since you're squishy/immobile, Dva can just right click you and prevent you from doing anything, your teammates expect you to deal with the Tracer AND the Genji AND the pharah while you're being dove on by dva/winston, and you just have to try twice as hard a soldier player for half the effectiveness.

I've been playing Mercy this season and probably will until the meta changes.

But you can't charge/rocket punch Tracer or Genji reliably unless you can read them, and a good player on either of them just won't be read and they'll kill you.

I regularly kill Genji or Tracer as McCree in two-three shots, and I have to put myself in actual danger for that to happen. It's a good fight all around. It's not a good fight when you're killed halfway across the map by a GM smurf.

is now immune to hacking
tank form replaces repair, damage nerf

new ult: becomes the hero that bastion last killed for a short duration, 4x ult charge can use that characters ult. lasts 10 seconds.

bastion is renamed to Agent Smith

Doesn't help that Charge is broken, Rocket Punch makes you a target for the MADA MADA and 'shoot you' combo, and the two snipers are just frustrating and dumb in terms of design and fun-factor.

Honestly just remove Hanzo from the game. Everything about the character is just infuriating. From spammable one-shot kill projectiles, to wallhacks, to scatter arrow oneshotting tanks or killing you unintentionally, to his stupid fucking wolf skin that obscures his headhitbox, just fuck Hanzo. I hate playing against him almost as much as I hate having one on my team.

And yes, blizzard should fix that. But one shots have a place. if we want more fun, mobile characters then we also need one shots to keep them from being super broken at the highest tiers of play
