there's spots of rust in my fuel tank would I be alright with my cheap fuel filter or do I need to get it sorted by people with know-how
Tyler Wood
Motogp
Christopher Taylor
Your fuel filter should be able to deal with little rust particulates but you should probably get it fixed asap.
Carson Jackson

David Wood
a filter will stop the jets getting clogged but it's gonna contaminate the fuel and make it run shitty
Joshua Lopez
is there any purpose to those wheels besides aesthetics

The wheels look normal to me. You mean the tires?
Caleb Davis
No. There is not one thing on that bike for any reason other than aesthetics

Oliver Cox
How do you know it rides better? Have you ridden it? Or are you just making up lies to get yourself to believe you're not just ruining a bike for the aesthetic.
Leo Cox
Ive built several cafe and brat bikes. Its always an improvement to be lighter. And changing the bars makes improvement over control is most cases. Then change fork fluids and springs. Improve brakes. None of this is bad or different from what you would do to any bike. Plus people like aesthetic things. I do agree that some people do dumb things to bikes though.

I also think they are cool. And i have ridden many years
Isaiah Bailey
One day mentlegen, one day...
Carson Hill
we think they're cool too
but they take away one of the biggest parts of a motorcycle's allure: shifting and the characteristics of the ICE. Then again, when you have ALL possible torque and horsepower at the crack of the throttle, it's sort of in its own league.
They're also way too fucking expensive. If they were cheaper they'd make a great ecocommuter

I'm looking to avoid the Motorcycle Gear tax, that's why I brought up plain windbreakers
Dylan Rodriguez
Gear tax? Gst? I literally bought mine off aliexpress(yes i know) and so far they've held up damn well
Jace Young
Is there such a thing as a universal bash plate?
Mason Murphy
by gear tax I mean anything with the word "motorcycle" in the title is going to cost 10x more than it needs to. I didn't think of aliexpress though, I'm all for saving on chink shit

I feel like I'm in bizarro Veeky Forums, I thought electric anything was frowned upon since no shifting, no engine noise, (in a sense) less skill to get the power out of it. Today I learned my taste isn't absolute shit.
Yeah, if I could get one for cheap, I'd totally use it around my town and potentially commuting, though I'd probably need to find a place to plug in when I get to work, I don't trust the range since I'd be doing somewhere between 50MPH and 70MPH to get to work on the freeway, unless I had one of the big ass battery models that costs more than my car did brand new.
Sebastian Perez
I've bought cheap kit off there before and as long as you know you get what you paid for its good budget shit. Just dont buy anything like helmets or rims etc
Brandon Green
that's on Veeky Forums in terms of cars, i guess the dbt is different. also normally i woudln't an electric bike, too, only as a dualsport/enduro I would consider one because its perfrect for ride to work because filtering and can go anywhere (as all enduros) and can go in the forest without getting shit on because HURR YOU ARE SCARING THE GOATS WITH ALL THAT NOISE UUUHHH
Gavin Williams
I feel you on that, I do lots of stuff with hobby electronics and fuck me do components get expensive real quick
>less skill >motorcycle that's where you're wrong, if anything they're going to be more dangerous because people (read: new riders) are gonna think "hey no shifting it'll be easy", and they'll be right - they won't need to learn how to use a manual transmission
but they're still going to be on a motorcycle with all of the dangers that implies.
not to mention the fine-grained control isn't there, and again, ALL torque, ALL horsepower, right there at a twist of the throttle it's a recipe for disaster if you've never ridden before
I'd never consider buying a primary jacket or helmet from there, but a cheap ass nylon elastic pair of windbreaker pants for like $5? Sure, hell yeah
Benjamin Ramirez
Zero motorcycles are programmed not to be instant 100%
James Powell
I like the idea of electric motorcycles but Zero does nothing for me.
Bland af in my opinion.
Jonathan White
Does anyone here have an rsv4/ tuono v4? kind or interested in getting one, but I'm not sure about that Italian reliability, though I thought the motor was by rotax or someone so maybe it's not a problem.
Landon Hernandez
Tacita has a gear shift
Evan Gomez
As says, Zero puts limits on so that you can't hurt yourself at low speeds. Once you broach 35MPH, it lets you open up. I don't think it'd be that bad to ride as a novice, but I also don't know anything.
I was interested in the dualsport for the range and the same reason of sound, but replace goats with horses.
That's part of the reason I like it, actually. Just sorta blends in. Not loud in design, simple and quick.
Angel Reyes
Reddit thread I was reading through said you have to spend hundreds on some sort of safety gear shit when learning to ride. Is this true or just some pussy soyboy bs? Can't I just wear normal clothes and maybe a helmet?
Andrew James
that shit gets mAH DIK hard best litrebike around
Wyatt Rivera
you can also ride naked if you want to, it just depends on if you want to survive a crash or not but here's a pro tip: Just don't crash and it doesn't matter what you wear.
Robert Parker
>mAH DIK hard I got mah clip in mah glock how bout U
Jackson Turner
I don't plan on doing any tricks or anything. Just riding. I don't see the point for that.
Jaxon Martinez
if you always ride in your garden where there are no other people around you don't have to, just consider that if you actually ride on the streets, there may be other people there that don't pay attention and could possibly hit you. In the end it's your choice what you wear, you just have to deal with the consquences.
Isaiah Hughes
Yeah guess didn't think about it that way. Probably will have to get some things if I ever get to doing a lot of riding on busy roads.
Wyatt Lee
let's put it this way. It doesn't matter how good or safe of a rider you are. It only matters how poor of a driver the person in the 5 ton cage is.
Would you entrust your life in the hands of the average driver? Would you put your life in this woman's hands? no? then buy safety gear

In theory, could I buy a 250 and claim it is its 125 counter part to my insurer and what not?
Can't I just restrict it to a 125 when its checked at the garage, or something?
Someone help me out here

>I don't see the point of maximizing the chances of surviving a possible accident caused by my/others mistakes and preserving my skin attached to my body.

ask yourself, "is it a good idea to commit insurance fraud on something they would actually audit?"
Lincoln Foster
You dont restrict engine displacement. You restrict the power said engine makes.
Caleb Howard
what kind of mount do I need to attach a gopro to a helmet? also is side mount or front mount better?
Dylan Stewart
Aside from the fact that Italian reliability is a meme and you're an idiot for believing it. The Aprilias are fucking gems.
Mason Jackson
Yes I know both these things I'm just so desperate How do I cheat the system please
Tyler Scott
Toasty hands installed
Hunter Evans
As far as I know, the Italian reliability meme applies more to Ducatis, Aprilias are pretty reliable. I've never owned either though, that's just what I've hear.
Angel Kelly
is there anything more homosexual than heated grips?
Alexander Sanchez
Get a 125cc 2 stroke like an Aprilia RS125 or KTM EXC 125, and take out the restriction if it has it (the KTM doesn't). That's the only way you're going to cheat the system if you're limited to 125cc. Or just yolo it and ride a bigger bike without a license.
Jonathan Wood
Also, buy a bike that's as light as possible, that will make the lack of power less noticeable.
Josiah Taylor
Applied to older ducatis. It wasn't so much that they broke down a lot, moreso they had fairly frequent major service intervals. Ignoring said intervals would lead to breakdowns, so you were either dropping 800-1000 dollars every 5-7k miles or rolling the dice and hoping nothing needed adjustment.
Nowadays, the intervals are more realistic (15k miles before valve service for most of their new bikes) and just about every new duc comes with a 2 year unlimited mile warranty. There's a video from a guy who put enough miles on an 1199 to warrant a fork replacement and it was totally covered by the warranty.
Christopher Anderson
part of the problem though in my eyes is that unlike ducati there isn't even an aprillia dealer in my state, so if something major happened or I needed parts it would be a pain in the ass to get them, and if the work was beyond my capability I may end up paying more to have a local shop work on a bike that they aren't familiar with.
Zachary Kelly
new ducatis are still prblematic, and that same guy you are talking about had his oil drain plug stip right out of the motor and spray oil all over the road
Noah Miller
>Maybe a Helmet
You can die from a punch to the head or slipping on a sidewalk and hitting your head on the way down, what's going to make falling off a bike at 15-20mph different?
How quickly do you want to recover from a crash?
At least wear some decent tough jeans and a thick hoodie if you're just going to be putting around town (20-40mph).
I wear gauntlet gloves too (hands are EXTREMELY fragile with dozens of tendons/ligaments that can't be fixed easily on the operating table and usually the first thing to touch the asphalt when you go down) and boots too (AT LEAST wear some decent sneakers).
If you're going to be riding out of town and actually cornering I'd try to wear kevlar jeans + mesh or leather jacket and boots.

Tuonobro here. Not had any problems yet and all the owners reviews I read before buying said the same. Only known problem on mine was occasional hot start issues, Aprilia put the loom right over the top of the engine unshielded, engine gets hot, melts the plastic and the starter shorts out. Easily fixed though apparently by just moving it aside a little bit. Mine has never had the problem so I assume a previous owner has already had it done.
The old V-Twins were rotax, I don't know about the V4s, but it's a god tier engine, it sounds incredible and pulls like a train.
Julian Bell

otd is around $9500 with new tires.

Have you seen what hapens to a bike when you flip the bitch at 30mph? Bent/broken handlebars, pegs, and controls, cracked fairings ground down past the paint?
Do you think you're more durable than a motorcycle?
Sebastian Smith
Depends, how much do you enjoy having skin and unbroken bones?
Camden Martinez
Those MV triples are known for eating themselves, I'd be cautious.

motorbikes a FRAGILE !!
Thomas Parker
Also horrible on the road to just ride along normally. They have a butterfly valve that opens up when you close the throttle, the idea is to prevent the rear end from locking up, but if you're not used to it, it basically makes the bike surge forwards when you close the throttle, so you ride towards a corner, close the throttle expecting to slow down and actually continue to accelerate for a little bit.
It's nothing awful and you can adjust your riding to suit but it's really unpleasant apparently.
Hudson Scott
