Bad habit of putting car into neutral when coming to complete stop cost me my front end I do this at every stop, even when im speeding and im usually safe BUT >Be me >get in a Street race >In between to sets of lights >Skyline pulls up to me >im in my supra >ITS ON >next set of lights just 200 meters away >so its a short race >lights go green >I launch, not so fast but get it from 0-60 >light turns orange then red >we arent gunna run the red lights >Slow down >60 feels kinda slow in my car >you wont really notice ur going 60 >brain farts >im use to going faster >put car in Neutral without realizing >Car is sliding out from behind me >apply the breaks >car is locking up >WTF.GIF >i lose full control of car >Skyline driver is laughing his ass off at me >hit the curb >Fuck my break calipers and disk >disk is snapped in half >about 30minutes from home >be dumb ass >drive home with no breaks rolling at about 10mph >cop pulls me over >luckly he doesnt notice the LOUD ass squeeking on the road >tells me my headlights were off >FEW continue driving home, fuck man what a night how do i stop putting car in neutral ive always done this, and this is the first time i lost full control of my car
now i realize i need to learn how to stop a bad habit, its really bad i do it without thinking
what is a good way of stopping so i never do this
Kevin Harris
>be asian soyboy incapable of driving >daddy bought his little boy an overpriced rice box >he doesnt know how to drive manual and totals it.
wowwwwwww
Henry Campbell
Neutral gear had nothing to do with your fuck up. You should instead be asking how to read your speedometer.
Blake Miller
This. Disconnecting the wheels from the engine won't cause you to spin out.
Anthony Carter
Do like dis
Il give u multiple situations.
Goin FAST >80mph >gee Das my exit >push break >60mph >down shift a gear >break some more >40mph >down shift a gear >keep in that gear >car is going 2mph about to stop >neutral
Bonus points for if u can shift AND break at the same time!!
Goin slow >34mph >stop sign >break >break >DOWNSHIFT FOR THE SOUND >break >2mph >Nuetral
Brandon Fisher
>putting the car in neutral caused it to start sliding no, your steering is what caused it to slide
Brayden Young
I dont understand guys, all i know was the car was in neutral when i lost control, when i applied breaks in neutral then it locked up
if i was in gear and just engine breaking it would of not happened, how was my steering ? when the road was straight and i both hands were on my wheel
Carter Davis
can you tell us anything about the road conditions? did it rain recently? was it cold? maybe your tyres were bald?
Nathaniel Watson
Have you considered your ABS has gotten fucked?
Matthew Morris
Dry road, fresh asphalt I drop car to mech today, he checked it out and said just need new break calipers
so getting that done first,
Eli Flores
the car goes into neutral literally every time you shift gears.
Chase Thompson
tl;dr
Caleb Torres
thats what happens when people think drag racing is an actual form of racing. You can't drive you dumb fag you can only hold the wheel straight and step on a pedal
Jason Butler
it doesn't.
Levi Smith
you're retarded OP i always brake to stop with clutch pressed and i never got into an accident
Brody Morgan
Cool story, bro.
Isaiah Nelson
How does hitting a curb hard enough to fuck your brake calipers also not fuck your wheels and uprights?
This thread is seriously setting off my bullshit meter.
Jonathan Williams
It's not possible.
Blake Hughes
It's BRAKE you goddamn illiterate, not break.
Gavin Thomas
It is impossible to spin out in neutral, because it is impossible to apply any torque to the wheels. Maybe you tried to shift into neutral but accidentally shifted into a higher gear, and the momentum of the flywheel caused your wheels to momentarily lose traction, therefore causing you to spin. You should always shift into neutral when completely stopped or coasting, because keeping the clutch depressed wears out your throw-out bearing. Also try not being a shit driver.
Parker Jenkins
>It is impossible to spin out in neutral, he could have spun out due to weight transfer which is what I believe happened. And OP is really bad at telling stories.
Accelerating = weight to the back Braking hard = weight to the front
