What is the best car for drifting?
What is the best car for drifting?
S13 or 14
Tofu
Reliant Robin
single cab short bed pickup
...
With bad tires.
Hey guys I'm trying to buy my first car ;_;
There is no "best car".
It has to be RWD with an LSD and an AE86 isn't anywhere close to being the best car for drifting either. If there's anything close to the "best" its the 350z as it has the power, LSD, and RWD platform.
i wasn't even trolling about the pickup
>v8
>rwd
>most come with a rear locker or lsd
>almost no weight over rear axle
>Hey guys I'm trying to buy my first car ;_;
>first car
>want a drift car
>anime gif
>initial D ae86 OP pic
yeah just stop while you're ahead. stick to a $3k civic and enjoy watching this and saving up for somewhat fun car as your second car
don't get pick up truck as a drift car. trust me.
why would suggest the absolute worst car to a person who literally who has never owned a car in their life before?
btw doing donuts in a small parking lot isn't drifting and neither is sliding in the grass
This is the best car for drifting
You don't even have to ebrake it clutch drift to go sideways. Weight distribution is beautiful
Skylines are great for drifting too. R32/33 GTSTs or R34 GTTs since they're all decently long wheelbase often with LSDs, and RWD with good power.
My R33 is a fucking nutcase when I throw it around, which is crazy because it's also a really grippy car when you want it to be.
Commonwhore.
youtube.com
they make good drift cars and are cheap.
Best ones that don't require fuck tons of money to modify
>350z
>240sx
>rx7
>skyline non GT-R
>sc300 (just strip it)
>old rwd mercedes diesels
>350z
true
>240sx
true, welded diff and maybe some coilovers and you're set
>rx7
ehhh wouldn't suggest this to someon starting out in drifting, let alone driving
>skyline non GT-R
somewhat true but its still an expensive car here in the US
>sc300 (just strip it)
SC300 is a very heavy car, stripping it won't do much and there isn't a large aftermarket for the SC300, its not exactly a bad car but its not something I would suggest.
>old rwd mercedes diesels
wrong wrong wrong wrong.
Heavy, old, rusty, shitty electronics. Terrible suggestion
dont post my daughter you creep
I learned how to drift in my 05 gto. I started with donuts and worked my way up. Its a nice car to drift just a little on the heavy side but it has the power to make up for it. Also they all have lsd.
Man I've seen some crown vics tear Shit up at my local meets. Ones got a manual swap from a old 5.0
Ute
just buy a reliant robin, put training wheels on the front
...

Nice piece of broken shit!
Single jingle KA 240 5 speed, weld the diff and strip it. Pump the rear tires up to 50 psi and you can get some 3rd gear slides out of it
S13/14, 350z, RX7, E36
The best car for drifting is the one that you have a personal attachment too. It’s the one that you feel most comfortable driving. The one that you know how to control in any situation. And most importantly not one that other people suggest or tell you to get but one that you choose. Call me a fag but that’s how I see it.
no you're right in a way, but that being said having a car that is rwd, manual, with an LSD is a must. Car doesn't have to be lightweight but it helps, car doesnt have to have a bunch of HP but it helps. although its better to learn with a low HP car
Holy shit I forgot this existed. For the unaware, pic related.
>AWD
thats powersliding not true drifting lad
The Clio is MR lad, not sure where you're getting that from.
>he never played GT2
obviously
oh well in that case show an example of a clio drifting in Forumla Drift or D1GP since its the absolute best car to use for drifting.
Or show me one thats competing at an Amateur or Grass roots drifting event.
>heavy
>little to no aftermarket in terms of drifting
fun car to hoon around in an empty parking lot
dual cam would be better
aussies please go
>doing donuts at a car meet
>drifting
yeah no.
nah dude just pull the drift stick
nope and fuck ford and their gimmicky shit
Opel Omega with V6 is fun too
nope. show me at least 10 pictures or videos of an omega drifting at an top tier drift event you stupid cuck
you realize its lighter than the cresta in that pic, right? and B230s can take a lot of power
>light in the arse
>lots of torque
Where's the flaw?
volvo 340 1.4 and shove on the turbocharger from a Renault 5 turbo.
Why would a person want LSD instead of say positrac for a drift car?
>buying a car specifically for drifting
gross, but in general the best cars for drifting are long wheelbase rwd with decent low end power, weight isn't as big an issue in a 'drift car' as it is in a lot of other contexts
In my opinion, there is no best car for drifting (although an S13 is easy to control entry and exit). It's all in driver's preference. Ask a friend, drive their drift missiles and find your favourite.
>old Mercedes diesels
>wrong
Nah, they're fucking tanks and not bad at ripping hektik skiddz, you just have to be a good driver. To get her sliding, you have to scandy flick the everloving fuck out of it and mat the throttle to get the wheels spinning, but she gets there.
t. 300 Turbo Diesel driver who can keep up with s13's
>being this retarded
this man is right. Everything is possible with the right attitude. Just need power to the rear wheels
3k civic
>t. 300 Turbo Diesel driver who can keep up with s13's
keep up on the highway? yes. actual drifting no. especially if its bone stock. To actually get it sideways a lot of modifications are needed for that car like this one
youtube.com
If it were actually a good drift car, people would be using those instead of S- chassis you dumb delusional faggot
>Hey, lets just ignore simple physics and mathematics
you can't be serious
Drifting is very much a japanese thing, it was. There is where many of the champoinships take place, and it should come to no surprise that they use domestic cars
Furthermore, it is as he says. an S13 will drift, As will a a bog standard mustang, an M3 the 300D, and a volvo 740 with a welded rear diff. a massive amount of horsepower sure will help, but its simply not neccesary. Rear wheel drive is
uhh...
>It has to be RWD with an LSD
lol no
that's not drifting, just creative use of handbrake or lift off oversteer
A vintage ZX
Notice how that dude didn't connect any drifts? it was just one corner..... lol.
How about you watch this instead.
skip to 3:30 for a few examples of RWD drifting and then skip to 8:40 of a FWD Fiat Punto or whatever it is "drifting"
