so why do you guys not like kia?
The optima is pretty good
So why do you guys not like kia?
Drive like shit when new.
Not to mention reliability issues.
hyundai and kia are the literally who of car mfgs
no notable cars whatsoever, not even for shitboxes
the new kias are fine though
Have had wifes optima for 3 years put 33k miles on it only problem was battery end of 2nd yr
They replaced for free
I drive a Genesis and tentatively defend Korean manufacturers, but the Optima was a shitfest of metal shavings grenading engines.
Same reason why nobody's favourite food is lettuce.
Only ones assembled in the US. Worldwide their record is good in the last decade.
they're all shitty appliance cars that aren't interesting in any way
>Competing against other appliance cars
>they're boring because we have no choice
wrong, even a base mazda 3 handles better than kias entire line
>Why don't you guys like this brand that not only makes shit cars, but also steals designs?
Hmmm, that's a tough one OP
I bought a 2014 Kia Optima SX Turbo back in March of this year and have been loving the car. The people who are complaining about Kia's these days either A) Spew regurgitated "fuck Kia" because they think some other car mfg. is better B) Haven't been in a Kia in decades so any new Kia "must be like the old shit kias" C) Can't afford one even with their shit salary and claim sour grapes
The only people that shitpost about them are people who have never owned one.
I had a rental kia forte earlier this year and it was complete trash
even the base model chevy cruze I drove for a while was miles better
kia is straight up fucking garbage
It also booms like a concert, the Australian Kia's are also ranked pretty closely to the Mazdas in terms of handling but then again they had their suspension setup locally.
They're like $13k cars... What do you expect? It's still better than the bus.
bumpo
>kia forte
>$13k
>paying MSRP
>ever
that's a good point, kia probably can't sell any at msrp
Drives like... Well, not that good (but not bad), but it is good damn reliable and cheap. At least used to be
you mean generic sedans #120397048738?
3 years... I can drive 33 k miles in 1.5 year . Come back when it's over 100k miles and worth nothing
It's a 3 year old Kia, it's already worth nothing.
Kia has a bad reputation from the early/mid 2000s for being shit (which they were), but they've come a long way. My parents are actually looking at a Kia Soul right now.
At least from what I know, a modern Kia is not much worse than the comparable Japanese brands. However, typically people yours & mine parent's age are really hard to change their pre-set notions about a car brand like this in my experience, so you may already be fighting a losing battle even if facts are on your side. I've read a lot of stories like this and they usually end with the people writing the check getting their way.
